The next comic is very technically complicated. I'm going to try to update it by Wednesday or Thursday morning, because Thursday I leave for college. And of course I'm continuing this, but my schedule is going to be more erratic (Friday is my busiest day), especially until I get settled, and I've really been anticipating the next update.
Why is it that all freshmen, including me, have really busy Fridays? At least I don't leave for another week, and my classes don't start until after Labor Day.

"I was raped" is a surprisingly common trend in the Average Female Character Backstory. Or at the very least, something that I've seen done a lot (and am rather guilty of myself).
However, I was always under the assumption that it was an orc who... did that, thus the root of her phobia. It wasn't until she actually mentioned Johan that I started to think otherwise, somehow remembering the Johan drawing, then putting two and two together.
Of course, maybe Johan called over his orc buddy Quark and...

Happens all the time. A goddess i made for a game on here started out as a nymphomaniac but eventually i decided it'd be more interesting if she'd been cursed to be obsessed with sex by her creators.

Huh. I always assumed Janine's tragic backstory included her family getting killed by orcs, fleeing across the country, and joining the church. Then something about getting raped by Johan while he was drunk/in a bar. These last few comics have lead me to believe there is something more. An abusive relationship with Johan, probably.
And since we aren't going to learn exactly what happened from the comic, I'm going to have to read Janine's prequel. Well, I was probably going to read it anyways, but whatever.
The question here is whether or not an orc would become associated with an Astridic church at a time either before or shortly after the Edict of Toleration was passed. My guess is no.
So... we still don't know what happened to her in any specific sense, but I'm guessing I'm not the only one who wants to knock this Johan guy down and stomp on his neck.

For me, it's not so much "stomp on his neck" as it is "chain him to a wall upside down and watch him die a slow, painful death by head-rush and eventual stroke", but it's a similar desire.
And here I was, thinking that the standard response to such things is a ball pen to the urethra. Other than that, yeah, I do hope for servings-of-justice on this one, one way or the other.
