Actually, he might be partially happy about it, when you think about his primary reason for hating them. "Hah! +2 Dexterity bonus! IN YOUR FACE! Ugh, Astrid, I'm starting to talk like an elf now..." Of course, he could just ask for them to do it again in hopes of becoming a Halfling...

"I'm an ELF? What god's cruel idea of a joke is this? Well, I guess I get that Dexterity bonus now...but, but, these pointy ears make my hair look stupid!"

Yes, yes they do. But they look amayzing on Serrin.
Ha, I'd need to talk to Matt--he's kinda recalcitrant on the subject.
I'm having so much fun at college and I've been so busy that I've only been able to work on the first three panels of the next comic. I'm going to try to get it up by the end of the week, though.
I'm glad you're having so much fun, Coffee. I'm leaving for college today, though I won't have any classes until after Labor Day. I'm in the marching band, and we need those two extra weeks to prepare for a home game on the 3rd.

either that, or a guardian spirit. or a trickster spirit. or an illusion, or a mirage, or dead soul person, or its a wizard with flight that just came out of invisibility, or a magical memory, or a psycho-holographic thingymabopper that only Matt can see because its in his mind!
or a piece/echo of his dead friends real ghost that is stuck in his head!
or something completely else that I haven't predicted, therefore by making that prediction, I've predicted absolutely everything and therefore am right, whatever it actually turns out to be.
hints of crazy multiple personality disorder-ness.....
No, it's a metaphor. He's wishing Verdis was around to help him out, just as he imagined how Radic would chastise him. You'll find out more about Verdis later on.
And different clothes, a different hair color, and no pointy ear. Or it could be Radic with longer hair and a ponytail, different clothes, and no Remus. All stick figures look somewhat alike.
But seriously, the really funny part is that all of the PC's have thought out their backstories.
In OotS and Murphy's Law, there are no players. There are only characters. Every one of them has lived a full life, and didn't just appear out of the blue when the game started.

Yes! Ding ding ding, we have a winner!
I'm going to be out tonight, and I'm having a little trouble deciding what to do for my next comic. Depending on how quickly I can get my homework done, I'm going to try to start it Sunday. But like I said, now that I'm in college the schedule will be erratic.
