Welcome to the Vote Up A Campaign Setting 2 Discussion Thread! It's nice to see this project still has a ton of enthusiasm backing it! We're going to be looking for your continued input, as well as dropping teasers and doing Q&A sessions, so stay tuned and keep talking it up!
First major setting news is something that was under heated discussion: the Build Team has settled on the setting's title! After much deliberation, we have decided to name this world...
Spoiler
Perantea
Let's recap the original votes that led us here! We have a Garden World crafted around the theme of Genesis, where the magic level is Very High. Major races populating this world include humans, the cloudpeople known as Niebla, the bright and varied Paraíso, spidery Mygalos, shapeless Proteans, the unborn Animi, mysterious Eldren and nature-tied Arboreals. The world is a flat planet featuring Many Large Islands, constantly reshaped by the varied and Infinite Gods that inhabit this planar Locus of Stability.
And since I can't think of an organic way to integrate these: your preferred Prestige Classes were Canopy Haunt, Fatemaker, First Hero, Original Heretic, Primal Funnel, Titanslayer.

I speculate that we won't have to wait two years for the setting to be released, but we'll have to live under Afro's tyranny for entire duration. If only someone was here to oppose him, for the greater good...
Re: Vote Up A Campaign Setting 2: Discussion Thread
Afro is totally a dictator, yo! But he's the kind of dictator that gets the job done, so I suppose he's alright with me. Just don't go insane with POWER!!!

I'm afraid that my POWER immunity came with a clause where I must obey Afroakuma for all of eternity, so no luck from my end.

Indeed! And I have some exciting things to begin spilling the beans on, once we get a bit of polish and consensus going. We're getting some of the big things locked in first so that we can use a lot of broad strokes to flesh the world out quickly.
The Reason
So come on, get to discussing! Get to questions! Let's have some fun in here!
Re: Vote Up A Campaign Setting 2: Discussion Thread
Can we have dolphins with laser beams? Please!?!?!?!?!??!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?
Or at least sea dragons. We need sea dragons. And dragons with tunnel speeds.

I regret that I am actually busier during the summer than otherwise, plus the forums keep popping up error messages on me, so posting has been difficult for me. I'm trying.

We're also discussing the prevalence of homebrew monsters that can use Void Palm once per combat turn as a free action. The current consensus is "all of them do it."

Reproducing ALL the information pertaining to winning selections from the first post of the previous thread in the first post of THIS thread would help our thought processes I think.

Re: Vote Up A Campaign Setting 2: Discussion Thread
There needs to be at least one tree that has grown over a mile in height. Ideally, it could be seen from the world's equivalent of SPACE. In fact, the entire island it's found on could be formed from its massive roots. It could be described thusly:
Quote:
As the mists part, the looming shape of the island approaches. To your astonishment, the entire landmass is formed not from earth, but from wood. The rough surface rolls like hills, enormous roots crisscrossing like catwalks. Miles ahead, the ground inclines sharply, forming the impossibly massive trunk of a tree. The colossal plant reaches towards the heavens, and only the lowest branches are even visible for the fog.
As you approach, you see that the tree is made from many kinds of wood, as if it was formed out of forests that fused together. A dead leaf, hundreds of feet across, floats towards you silently, pushing you into the shore.
Re: Vote Up A Campaign Setting 2: Discussion Thread
So there's a question, how do these prestige classes interact with one another and with Perantea at large? What races generally take these prestige classes, and why?

In that case it would have to be able to live off salt water though, unless it is located in a fresh water inner sea.

Not that difficult. Either it's a giant Mangrove tree, or the ocean is sweet water. Hey, it's a fantasy world. The rare salt-eating sponge takes care of all the salt.
“Not a promise, not an oath, or a malediction or a curse,” I said, sounding calm, probably inaudible in the midst of the screaming. “Inevitable. Wasn’t that how she put it? I told them. Warned them.”
-Taylor Hebert. Yes, I'm a proud Skittle.

Either that, or the ocean is so young there isn't any salt in it yet?
