Turiel leaves the office, taking one look at the small piece of writing before enveloping it in shadow-flames.

He goes off to explore the facility.

The Operative looks at Turiel's membership form. "Very well. Consider yourself a member. Familiarize yourself with the facility, if you wish." Turiel will find a folded piece of paper near the hand he used to fill out the form.

The Operative will probably be in his office. He almost never leaves it.

Fade will go and knck on his door.

"Operativ I got a question."

The small piece of paper has the location of Turiel's room in the Barracks, as well as the code to the lock on his door. The Operative watches as he leaves.

Then Fade knocks on the door. "Enter."

Sarah is wandering the base. Anyone could run into her.

"Hey."

Fade takes a seat not even waiting.

"You know I made a few thougts. how should people take note of us. We need to make people know that there is an organisation for such kind of jobs. I thought we could use 'The Wall'. I don't think people just jump in and got a contract for us."

[Rotting Baron]

[The Operative's Office]

"There are a few problems with using the Wall as advertisement, Fade. It's far too public. We don't want people with hero complexes to show up." Fade did have a good point, though. People wouldn't just jump in with contracts. "If you wish for a contract, Fade, perhaps you can go out
and search for one?"

[The Operative's Office]


"Isn't there a point that i should never mention this organisation outside these walls? I don't really know how I could bring him here without breaking that 'law'."

his face is still covered but his eyes and the one brow up should tell that he is confused.

The Operative nods. "That is very true. But it is Not that hard to find contracts without mentioning an organization of any kind. For example, you could tell someone you have a 'friend' who could do what they need done."

"And shoudl I bring them to the bar or should I tell them how to come down?"

[Rotting Baron]

[The Operative's Office]

"The latter. It would be simpler if you just told a potential buyer the way here."

"Ok, well i will first try the Black dragons Den then, it's the main place to search people with reasons to sign a contract with us."

And then Fade will leave if the operativ doesn't hold him up.

Fade may run in Sarah if she is on the first floor.

"The Den would be a good place to start, but remember to search other places as well. The very city we're below might have a few contracts hidden away." The Operative doesn't stop Fade from leaving.

Sarah's actually in the Recreational Chamber, but she's planning on coming up soon. Might as well get some sightseeing in.

I'm not really sure if she is there now or not, but Fade will go for the elevator to leave.

The Operative is here, looking for Sarah. He doesn't go through the Barracks, but other than that, he's quite thorough in his search.

He'll likely find Sarah in the Recreational Room, watching something or other on TV.

"Ah, Ms. Bloodchanter. I have a request of you." The Operative turns off the TV. Telekinesis is so useful.

She wasn't showing much sign of enjoyment over what was on anyway. She was just bored.

She stands and nods.

"What is it you need of me, ser?"

The Operative knows the values of saving electricity. "I'd like you to do a sort of scouting run for me. More specifically, searching for potential contracts."

Sarah stifles a sigh.

Please tell me you have a better plan for this than walking up to random people and asking: 'Hey, you! Is there someone you need dead, tortured, or interrogated?'

The Operative hesitates for half of a second. Did she really think he was that dumb? "I'm going to assume that was sarcasm. We're underneath one of the most lawless places in the Nexus. It shouldn't be hard to find someone who wants someone else gone without speaking to them."

Yes, it was sarcasm.

"Alright then. In that case, the reasonable method would be to work through an intermediary, as a decoy on the off chance someone who shouldn't be is listening in..."

She stops.

"Something just occurred to me. Why don't we have a dead drop location? Somewhere that we can advertise to without risk of compromising the base's location? Regardless of how well we hide ourselves, it's going to become common knowledge that we exist relatively soon. But if we simply set up a mailbox somewhere, we could have contracts delivered in writing rather than, you know, making this complex about as subtle as AMEN. Of course this would only work once we're a bit more established, but it's an idea."

The Operative nods. "I intend to have at least one dead drop location once more people know of our existence. As of now, it's an expense that we wouldn't get much use of."

"At any rate, I will let you use your best judgement on this one. All I ask is that you don't give our location until a contract is secured." That should be common knowledge, but you never know.

Sarah nods.

"It's a little sad that it's necessary to add the last part. Yeah, I'll do it. Give me a moment to dress in something less conspicuous, though."

"This is the Nexus, I can't afford to make any assumptions. In any case, take all the time you need."

Fade returns having noone in company. he will head for his room if not stoped.

Sarah will walk off to her room, and will come out five minutes later in an outfit that makes most NPCs look conspicuous by comparison.

She'll then go to the elevator, travel up, and leave the front unless someone stops her for some unexplainable reason.

Being a psychic entity, the Operative might have a better chance of detecting the coming message. It flickers to life opposite him, painted on the wall in a transparent image that most definitely wasn't there before.

The text reads:

The Operative studies the text as it appears on the wall. This message was probably not intended for him. The only people he wanted dead were targets and competition. He soon makes the clear deduction.

And he decides that this won't do. He was suddenly pleased that he had installed a phone in his office. He couldn't reach through phone lines, after all. The phone comes off its receiver, and the number is dialed. All telekinetically, of course.

An artificial voice speaks up. Genderless.
