The 13th largest country was named, at least in popular belief, the name it was in an attempt at "tourist marketing", to get people to come there despite its more frosty nature. With increasing temperatures, vegetation would increase and ice and snow would decrease. Well not really, more like that country melting would flood low lying areas of the world, but hey, can't fault a man for trying the cheap joke.
Speaking of which, (not really) is my character ever going to get to enter that village? He's cold.
Greenland is part of denmark, so it fails in that the greenland pun didn't work because the 13'th largest country is denmark not greenland : P
Going to start the first Fighting Ring in a couple (real-life) days, not interested in waiting much longer. It'll be an 8-man (or woman) single elimination tournament, and all slots not occupied by a PC will be taken by a NPC. Hopefully we get one or two PCs in there, but if not, the show shall go on. A reminder of the where, what, and how for those who might have missed it.
A query for my adoring public to help me answer: when there are multiple PCs in a fighting ring tournament, should I:
1. Place them as far opposite from one another in the bracket as possible, in hopes of a big dramatic finale, or
2. Randomize their placement, so that one PC might well knock out the other in the first round. Less dramatic, but it gives us better odds of there actually being a PvP match in this supposedly PvP competition, since there is a decent chance the final fight in the tournament could have one, or both, slots taken up by NPCs.
Just to let everyone know that starting tomorrow and until the 2nd of September I will be tentatively unavailable as I will be on vacation on my home town + islands.
I may or may not have access to internet so responses are not guaranteed.

Well, it'll be an ongoing thing, Mikka. If you don't make it this time, there ought to be another one later. But like I said to Moranica, if you can get in before the first round ends, I don't see any problem slipping you in.
I run all things related to the tournament itself, Plans does all the NPC fighting. You'll fight your matches in your thread, and if you're all right with it, at the end a summary will be posted to the public thread so people can generally keep up with things without gaining too much specific information about your character. When PvP combat starts, I think Plans makes a separate thread for it private to the two combatants involved.

Because clearly this game needs more evil PCs :P
It's lonely in the good guy camp! :P

if it comes to pvp in the tourney, the two pc's will fight it each in their personal threads and their dm(s) will post back and forth between them. I am not having another Perry versus Willstaff incident.
I understand your thinking on that. Although matches will go a lot slower with that go-between. Definitely no tournaments larger than 8, and possibly just 4.
