you're both wrong. It's the one where you two met in a teamup thread, pvp broke out, and the two of you started dm'ing yourselves faster than I could read it, asking for an arbitration then ignoring it and continuing on before I can respond.
True, Plans. Although it's also the one where you allowed a readied action to trigger without said trigger actually occurring. So don't put all of it on us, there were mistakes aplenty to go around.
Oh, and I will post this both here and in the OOC: Fight Night I is over, and singups for 2 are now open. Post in the OOC thread if you're interested. Once we have at least 4 PCs in it, I will start it up. If you are not at a point in your story where you can participate (or you can't yet swing the 500 gold registration fee), don't sign up yet. Once we hit the 4 confirmed PC participation mark, I will leave signups open for another two or three (RL) days, and then start the festivities. The maximum amount of participants in a round is 8, but I highly doubt we get close to that number anytime soon.
I don't know if it's been officialized, but I may be assuming control of the fighting ring as your temporary DM once you've started that way. And with the approval of Riz and the gang (so take this with a grain of salt, as I haven't even mentioned it to the boys in the back yet), I will also be willing to RP you into signups if your regular DM isn't on enough at the time to get you there quickly.
That preceding paragraph was mostly unconfirmed. Especially since if I throw my PC into the mix, I probably won't be able to DM the contest without a major conflict of interest. The one before it, however, is full of truth. Read it, learn it, love it. And commence your up-signing.
hustlertwo is effectively DM in his fighting ring; however, as per standard DM rules, he has no DM control over his own characters. He is also unable to create new "wealth" through items/gold/etc. Other than that, go for it.

No need to create new wealth. Top prize is paid by participants (NPC and PC alike), second provided by Wilstaff through his Arena slush fund. Third through eighth can suck it. Although they still get juicy XP, win or lose.
Right, I was just laying out the basics publicly so people know what is going on.

I'm working on approving people. You can take the next few I approve.

I will mention this IC in the Streets thread as soon as my story permits, but so everyone knows, I'll be gearing up for the next Fight Night shortly. Also, aside from those tournaments, we'll now be doing fights on demand; you can have your PC show up at any time to the fighting ring and choose from a variety of options, including but limited to:
-a fight with another PC (arranged as quickly as possible; if none can be found after a decent period of time, I'll throw mine in there to fill the gap)
-a fight with one of our menagerie of monsters
-a fight with a horde of low-level NPCs, who are participating in our Bread for Bruises program
And whatever else you can come up with. All of this is without the chance of permanent death, since the arena revives everyone immediately after they perish. Prices for these at-will match services are yet to be determined, but will likely be in the neighborhood of 100 gold. As before, registration for the big tournament is still 500 gold, with half the total purse going to the winner, a prize that would cost more than 500 gold at a store to second place, and experience for all participants, win or lose.
Well yeah, it is still a business. I will likely also allow wagering for PvP fights; you can put up 100-1,000 added gold, and if your opponent chooses to match it, the winner receives the whole pot. Or you can fight without wagering just for experience, or to settle a disagreement in a manner that doesn't end in someone dying.
For the basic matches......I wasn't going to do any, but I have a good idea. My PC just came into a large cache of potions, and between some of those that he could spare and using Arena funds to buy more...how about a potion grab bag for the winner? Some will be worth less than the cost of your ticket, some more. But either way, you'll get some experience (albeit not as much as the tournament fights).
