I feel I must uphold at least a certain level of creepiness. It's Selia's own fault for falling for a weirdo like Melchia. She's likely to learn that one should never date a telepath...

Eh, to be honest, Selia's pursuing a path to power that starts with shouting things to make people sad or happy and ends with tearing open reality to summon hordes of angels. It's not like either of them is particularly normal.
EDIT: Oh and it's not her fault, it's my fault. By the way, I've been dropping hints since at least page 8. This has been in planning for a looong time.

Well, speaking of romantic subplots, technically I started it. The groundwork for this has been in place for 8+ months by now, I think.
Seeing as so far Rubido's romantic subplot has been a a handful of posts and we haven't seen the woman for 8 pages, I'm not entirely sure if it counts.
At the very least we have a surprise for mucco when he gets back.

Even a not-yet-fleshed-out romantic subplot is still a romantic subplot.

A quick note/reminder: I'm on vacation (see my sig) but I will be able to post occasionally, as I've gotten unexpected access to something I can actually type longer messages on.
The trip was shortened due to a small muscle injury that happened to my friend before departure, but still, we did more than 900 km in two weeks - Italy top to bottom basically. Coolest thing ever.
Good news: I'm back for the foreseeable future, and our campaign had its first birthday last Monday. Good job everyone for keeping it up! (if only it could run a little faster... )
IC post will happen within the evening, hopefully. It is the right moment for opening a new chapter in the campaign.

We just splitting the coin evenly? That's 50 pp each! $_$
Oh, and welcome back mucco!
Edit:
I see that Otrino owes Melchia 192.75 gold... so he could subtract what he owes from his share, leaving him with 31 pp and Melchia with 69.
Selia owes Melchia 150.75 gold... but recent developments may cause Melchia to 'forget' this debt. (I see why you started a romance with my character now, PersonMan...)

I actually forgot about it entirely. I'm not sure if she'd remember, given all that's happened so far.
Ooh! Is it too late to say Melchia manifest Mindlink on the whole party before they entered the Mayor's house? That way, we can communicate silently with each other and make sure we don't make any Conversation Mistakes.
This would leave Melchia with 9/15 power points.

I've blown fully 2/3 of my power points so far on this interaction!
The plan is to use what time remains on Detect Thoughts to figure out what makes him tick, what he really wants, etc. etc., so that Melchia will have a good idea how to position a deal or request for one of the seeds.
Telepaths can do everything a bard can do, without speaking.

Sweet. I've effectively got a +12 on Diplomacy checks vs. the poor bastard from powers alone. However, the piece de resistance lies in the remaining surface thoughts. If we can guide <3 minutes of conversation in such a way as to reveal his desires, fears, hesitations, etc., we can use that knowledge for further advantage.
I know this is mostly pointless fluff, but Melchia approaches these kinds of encounters like he approaches actual combat: to him, both activities are essentially the same, taking place purely on the mental battlefield. Clearly, in this instance, Melchia is a trained assassin, and the mayor is a hapless commoner...
And that also explains his hesitation towards Selia's advances... it's like she's 'rolling initiative.'

Nothing personal, but...I mean, you rolled a 2. As a trained diplomat, Selia's probably barely restraining herself from giving Rubido a lesson in 'talking to people 101'.
Also, this post demonstrates part of why I love playing high-Cha characters.
EDIT: Now that I think about it, what we're doing is pretty shady. A bunch of well-travelled people walz in and start pumping out more magic/psionics/(Su) stuff and throwing around more skill points than this guy sees in a month just to talk him up enough to get some cheap plant seeds.
I feel less like an adventurer and more like an extreme gardener.
EDIT2: Oh, and 'pointless fluff' is half the fun of PbP games, IMO. You have a lot more time to plan out/describe your character's actions, thoughts, etc. so why not do so?
