No strange ritual or anything particularly complicated. Just make a thread in Friendly Banter. If you feel like it, choose a nice picture related to the theme and post it in the first post. Just have a look at the old theme weeks if you're unsure, but really, it's just a thread.

Obviously we're doing Halloween on the forums. However, I was wondering if we were going to do a theme week in addition to that or if we also wanted to do a themed Halloween this year.

So the october theme week, in keeping with Halloween, is always dressing up as another playgrounder right? Shall we set the dates for that? October 28th - November 3rd gets Halloween right smack dab in the middle of it, if I'm recalling calendars properly, so I imagine that's what'd happen.
If nobody has any objections, I can set up the thread in short order so we can get that whole thing started

I think that this is getting close to ridiculous. When, what, and where shall be the next theme? Shall we vote or just suggest things like Food Week, where everyone makes their avatar contain or be made out of food.

Given that voting on this has been left so late for a November theme week, and Christmas/holiday themed avatars will start popping up in December, I propose that we just go ahead and do a "Simple Avatar Week".
The idea is that your avatar will be as simple as possible, retro oots style (before people started adding very fine and complex detail). It's kind of based on the boring/dull avatar week, but without the boring/dull bit. You can be as interesting and fun as you like, as long as your avatar is very simple.
This will give avatarists a bit of a break and help them turn out avatars with little warning.

Yeah... No.
You can obviously wear a complex avatar if you want to, no one is stopping you, but you wouldn't be participating in the theme. The theme is simple, you'd be complex. It's basic logic.

While I do not agree with the entirety of what Mr. Ranger said, I am also of the opinion that Pokemon everywhere would be maddening. Maybe for April Fools, but not for a whole month!
Wouldn't you know it, I only just started with the Tinsley Avatar as my base, and now I have to make him all Christmas-like before you're used to him.
Do we usually have an Opposite week? I know there's a Gender-swap week (Or was that only a one-time thing?) but I think Opposite fits for January. Turning over a new leaf and all
