As he evidently maintains a hybrid form by choice I think Beast Boy is using animals as a personal choice as opposed to a specific power. Or at the very least has the potential to take on almost any shape he so chooses such as a different human, though all green so not useful for disguise.
Oh and I think Superboy wanted M'gann to be her actual self more and broke up with her when she would

Spoiler
Anyone notice Beast Boy's monkey wasn't green inside the teleporter place?
So that means he is able to not be green if he tries hard.
I think he just likes being green like his big "Sis".

It seems that he can grow hair of any colour (or really just brown so far) but only green skin. As far as we know, anyway.

I was quite pissed about the time skip. It's lazy storytelling - skipping over dozens of potentially interesting plot lines. I miss Kid Flash and Aqualad. And I had to spend 10 minutes explaining things to my 8 year old cousin, who had a really hard time understanding what had happened and who all the new characters are and what had happened to Robin. (Though I'm glad that Miss Martian started taking lithium - though I think she's overdoing it a bit - her speech is so "flat" most of the time it sounds like she's completely zoned out).
But then I watched an episode of Green Lantern. The animation is so poor it's almost painful to watch, and the plot is a joke. So now I realized how high quality Young Justice really is. I just wish that they didn't abuse it so.
@Person_Man: Thank you for confirming that those not versed in the DCU are having trouble following this.

I took that for a trick of the lighting at the time but unless we see it carried through I'm going to presume BB is only green like he normal.
If not then I'd actually call that further evidence for him having general shapeshifting not the specifc 'turns into animals' ability.

I actually have warmed to the timeskip. It allows us to jump right into the delicious meaty center of the plot - aliens up to and including Darkseid - without it being 'forced too early' on a not-yet-ready team that some plot ex machina would be needed to force them, and not the League, into fighting. Instead, we have them seasoned, expanded, and ready...they think.
(And, as noted, it's really more of a 'spinoff' than a 'season two'.)
As for GL:TAS, all I can say is YMMV; the animation on it warmed up to me after a couple of episodes.
After the whole Wally-saving-queen episode, I don't think they'd kill him off in a timeskip. I hope. I think the souvenir thing is just something that the team collectively started doing, since by the time BB joined (Heh, BB and MM is siblings now) there was probably a Wally whining about needing more 'closet space'. Couple dozen souvenirs at least.

Well, the reason for why Wally is missing might be that he became the Flash?
That's what I'm thinking.
I highly highly doubt any of the characters were killed off in the interim. And one was, I'd expect it to be resolved with the ol' "we thought you were dead" reveal later in the season.

Yeah, this is a good example of the big problem with the time skip. I don't buy this. I can see Aqualad getting emotional over either of the incidents he mentioned, but going straight-up villain and working for Black Manta? No, doesn't make sense to me. This is something they really needed to show in-show if they wanted to do it, not just skip over and explain afterward.

Given this show I'd be inclined to go with:
Spoiler
Deep cover mission. Possibly even without telling anyone. Even Batman.
If not scratch one good character. Even showing it doesn't make it less utterly lame and cheap as a story twist.
The title, "Alienated," gives me the impression that Aqualad is not undercover, but actually rogue. Which means redemption arc will soon be underway, no doubt. I'm cool with it, even with the timeskip part of it, so long as the arc is well written. He didn't have much of an arc last season so if this is what works, I say go for it.
Loved seeing Superman and Conner battling together. Very cathartic after last season.
I assume that the bomb is from Apokalypse, and that this is the Light's "new ally."
The trial is a convenient means of having the JL out of the show for a number of episodes, leaving the earth to the protection of the YJ team.
Superman surviving a NUKE - that's pretty badass.
Overall I liked the ep, though those tiny aliens don't seem like much of a serious threat. Its hard to take them seriously.
Trivia: Godfrey is voiced by Tim Curry, who was originally going to be the Joker on Batman: The Animated Series before it was decided that Mark Hamill was a better fit.

The episode centers around Aqualad. It was a nice episode all around, solid action and things moving smoothly. Especially loved that last bit were Superman tried to save those aliens.
I wonder how much time it will take for the team to do something about Megan (afterall, Superboy noticed).
The light is against those aliens.....so it seems my guess was right and they are only a distraction while they work on their real plan.
Things arent looking good for our heroes. With the best heroes in the league away (no offense to the others), things arent looking bright. To me it seems if the light wants to make their next move, now is the right time.

M'gann is overusing and abusing her abilities. Note what she does to the Krolotean Manhunter is interrogating, and also Connor's expression when she does it.

I don't really see an issue with that.

She left the Krolotean either dead, or brain-dead, and it's the second time she's done that...on-screen. Given Superboy's comments to Alanna in the last episode, it's obvious she's been abusing her abilities for awhile.
So, apparently the Reach are the Kroloteans' 'competitors'? And allied with the Light? Interesting...
Spoiler
Yeah, I'm very glad. Blue is one of my favorite heroes, and the Reach don't get much coverage. Only animated thing about them I've ever seen was the Brave and the Bold episode with him.
And yeah, Mgann's either needs to learn how to interrogate without eliminating the person's capacity to do anything or just stop it altogether.
Aqualad feels forced, I think. One, 'Aquagirl'? Good god, at least call her by her damn NAME when the guy seemingly mad with grief is grieving about her. The Aqualad and Blank Manta thing is weird, though epic. Official Light member, probably some Reach Beetle upgrades for the Mantas soon, and Aqualad kicked ass. Was cool. But why the hell he cares so hard about serving his father he never knew and turns his back on his morals, I cant really comprehend well.

Hm, I'd just assumed that he had been knocked unconscious, but you're right, given the previous episode there's probably something more going on there. Good catch.

I'd presume Nightwing calls her Aquagirl because he's a Bat, and Bats are experts at seperating Life from The Mission.
Aqualad, on the other hand, isn't; faced with a seeming double-betrayal (finding out his beloved King kept his true parentage from him and that his One True Love died - and, given that it happened 'on a mission', it was likely...messy - that was enough to make him prime for manipulation by Black Manta.
Hm, I'd just assumed that he had been knocked unconscious, but you're right, given the previous episode there's probably something more going on there. Good catch.

uhh... You spelled your name wrong a bit there, Z.

Bats are also supposed to be halfway sane and good at psychology. Dick isn't being very good at trying to calm AL down.

Criminal psychology, and did you just call anyone related to batman sane?Given that the rest of the bat family thinks it’s perfectly rational to deal with personal tragedy by dressing up in a ridiculous costume and satisfy your feelings of pain and loss with gracious violence, I wouldn’t want to go to any of them for grief counseling.
