[Nexus - Plot] Prisoner Rescue

[C'nor]

Presumably, everyone is here, all of them having gone through the portal from HALO.

But where is that?

A courtyard, abandoned for several years by the look of it. The walls are cracked, and sand has blown in, covering the stonework floor. The suns, both of them, beat down with extraordinary force.

Behind the portal back to the Ballroom, there is a large building, probably a temple.

[Beans]

Carrie squints against the sunlight, gripping her cane.

[The Bushranger]

No doubt they're at the farthest from the bright centre of the universe...

Quinn looks around apprasingly as Dani peeks behind the portal for any potential ambushes!

[C'nor]

There are no obvious threats visible to Dani. She might notice that the walls of the building are extremely thick, and there are few windows, though.

There's not much else in the courtyard, except for the bones of some sort of animal, picked clean and scattered by scavengers.

[FireFox]

Matt and Kevin are here. So what's the plan?

[C'nor]

"Now that we're here, we need to get more information. Who has abilities that would help with that?"

[The Bushranger]

"Um, I should have brought an invisibility potion," Dani says with an embarassed giggle. "But I could sneak around!"

[C'nor]

"If you need to get something, the portal is there. It's not going to close on you. Just don't get caught doing any magic that's not clerical."

[Rotting Baron]

Ashley speaks up. "I could scout out the temple. I have an invisibility spell."

[C'nor]

"That would be good. You should probably both go together, in that case."

[The Bushranger]

"I'll stick with what I know. Besides I can always distract from the Invisible Woman," Dani declares.

[Rotting Baron]

Ashley nods in agreement. "A distraction would definitely help out."

[C'nor]

Karyana nods.

"Do you have a spell to let you understand languages?"

[Beans]

Carrie and Zwei listen, though I may have to go for a bit soon, and a bit longer after that.

[Rotting Baron]

"Yes. It's a pretty basic spell, so if anyone needs it, let me know." Ashley goes to cast that very spell on herself.

[FireFox]

Matt and Kevin both look uneasy about Dani going in to scout around, but they know she can teleport, so they keep quiet.

[The Bushranger]

"Ooh, can I have that spell please?" Dani asks, waving her hand excitedly!

Quinn just chuckles.

[Rotting Baron]

Ashley also can't help but laugh a little at Dani's enthusiasm. "Sure." She goes over to try and put a hand on Dani's shoulder. If that's successful, the illusionist casts the same spell she just cast on herself.

[The Bushranger]

Ping!

Dani is the recipient of a Tongues spell!

That word does not mean what she probably hopes it means....

"Thanks!"

[Rotting Baron]

Ashley nods. "That spell will last for the day. Do we have any way to get information, or are we just making it up as we go?"

[C'nor]

"That depends on whether or not any the people I used to know are still around. Try asking for Lannigan cas Trilok, in the Starbane district...Which you don't know how to get to. Right. [Insert directions here]."

[FireFox]

Matt and Kevin are still here, feeling exposed although the courtyard appears abandoned.

[C'nor]

There is a heavily fortified building behind them, which would probably offer better cover.

[Rotting Baron]

Ashley nods. "I should probably head that way now, unless we had other ideas."

[FireFox]

... Aren't they going to send Dani and Ashley in to gather intelligence before they go into the temple?

[Beans]

Carrie... is unsure what to do, and stands awkwardly by Matt.

[The Bushranger]

Dani grins at Ashley.
"Let's go!"

Quinn seems to be studying Matt.

[FireFox]

Ignoring Quinn's stare, Matt looks at Dani. The second you feel something is wrong, teleport back here.
Kevin, set up a perimeter! Carrie, take Quinn and check out this temple. Make sure it's empty.
The brown haired druid steps out of the courtyard and starts dragging his warhammer in the ground, drawing a huge square around the whole building while he quietly chants.

[The Bushranger]

Staring? Quinn isn't staring. That'd be rude.

Dani snaps to attention, the scantily-armored redhead giving Matt a jaunty salute.
"Aye aye, Skipper!"

[Beans]

Carrie will go with Quinn to check out the temple.
She glances at the other woman a little nervously.
