[Roll=Initiative]1d20+3[Roll]
Do we need to make checks to hear when that thing attacks Kulkav?
And if he ends up unconscious - do we need to roll to hear that?
In case we've got to roll to hear the attack: Perception - (1d20+2)[16]
Just noticed that we were using perception instead of spot&listen for this game... and stealth instead of hide&move silently.

Kulkav roars in fury and pain, his very form seeming somehow greater than it was a mere moment ago; Taribo and Frederic are actually, physically pushed back by the giant's form.
Reaching onto his head, he picks up whatever creature dares assault him like that, seeking to toss it to the ground!
Spoiler
Use Instantaneous Rage to activate Mountain Rage before he would fall unconscious, thereby keeping him at 1/17. Partial action to try to grapple the thing off of him.
Grapple check part deux - (1d20+11)[22]

Taribo prepares to let a Color Spray loose from his hands, but as he starts to cast he remembers that he can not ensure that he will not hit any of the others, so he uses his crossbow, letting a bolt loose in the direction from which he heard the creature get smacked.
Spoiler
Taking a 5-feet step away from the fight.
Standard Action: Firing Light Crossbow MissChance - (1d10)[3] Attack - (1d20-2)[18] -4 for firing into melee included. Damage - (1d6)[2]
x2 Critical on 19-20... if my roll is a natural 19 or 20: CriticalconfirmAttack - (1d20-2)[17] CriticalDamage - (1d6)[3]
Move action: Reloading Crossbow

Suddenly, the everburning torches flicker back to life, illuminating the room in their cold glow.
The creature shudders and flops in it's death throes, all stony grey scales and tentacles. Kulkov's throw had cracked it's shell, Taribo's bolt had found that crack, and the snakes did the rest.
Kulkov is looking much worse for wear... Blood flows from a large gash on his head and numerous, round wounds where the creature's suckers tore away the flesh of his throat.
Spoiler
Sorry I didn't wait for your roll, Kulkov, your minimum damage an Taribo's Crit were more than enough to slay the beast.
Well done all on your first monster. Everyone gain 75xp.
For those of you keeping track, that was a 'Dark Mantle'
Malthos rushes to the barbarian and, with a muttered incantation and a rapid array of gestures, cures the worst of his wounds.

Kulkav sags, becoming a mere shadow of himself but a moment ago, fighting for breath as the magic seeks to repair his torn throat. When he's certain that he won't immediately pass out, he smiles somewhat more shakily than a moment ago at the others.
"Magical tricks indeed. Malthos, my friend, can your god afford another blessing? I do not know how well I can fight at the moment."
Spoiler
It's fine, Mr. X. Kulkav is sitting at 1/15, and will be a moment before he gets past his present fatigue. Didn't expect to have to bust out the rage so quickly.

The shaman chuckles to himself slightly, before drawing a mystic scroll from his pack.
I have only five of these on my possession, but I suppose your predicament is worse than most.
(1d8+2)[4]
/edit: Wait, forgot to do the actual scroll-using system. (edit in a sec)

Alright, that's it. 4 more hp. I can heal you again if you want, but if so, we should rest so I can prepare more spells.

The shaman grins faintly.
Thank you, comrade. This will be of much use.

Kulkav nods in appreciation as his breathing normalizes, though he's still obviously heavily damaged from the affair.
"Many thanks. However, we will need to press on until we have some measure of a safe haven. Resting will do no good if enemies are bearing down upon us. Malthos, perhaps you could continue to lead for the time being? I will provide what support I can, but I'm not sure I could survive another attack of that caliber."

The rush of adrenaline did not even enter Taribos body before it already was all over. It just after the fight that his hands begin to shake as he takes a closer look at the creature. "Apparently this thing was able to turn off our everburning torches somehow... interesting. If we find time later, I would like to examine it." Then he follows the others to the next door.
Spoiler
OOC: MasterofFates, don't forget that you can spontaneously turn regular spells into Cure spells.
Initative - (1d20+3)[5]

Also, the rat's carry disease. Each time you get bitten, make a Fortitude save. (just roll, I'll tell you if you catch something when it takes effect.)

The rat snaps at the first snake as it comes, but the viper rears just out of reach and strikes down on the rat, sinking it's venomous fangs deep into it's neck.
The rat writhes for a moment before the next snake reaches it... And then the next, and the next. Soon it is but a mass of slipping serpents all trying to get an angle on swallowing the monstrous thing.
Fredric steps past Malthos into the room, and throws a glass flask into the midst of the creatures...
Taribo takes his crossbow again, carefully aiming for a rat that is not being taken care of by his comrades or their snakes yet.
Spoiler
Such a cool opportunity to hose a room with Colorspray, ruined by my crap initiative roll. Oh well, at least this way I'm preserving my high-level spells. Maybe next time.
Standard Action: Firing Crossbow Attack - (1d20+2)[3] Damage - (1d6)[1]
Critical attack on 19-20/x2 CriticalConfirmAttack - (1d20+2)[7] CriticalDamage - (1d6)[4]
Move Action: Depends, if Taribo will have to move into the room to aim at any rats, then he will move there. If not: Reloading Crossbow

OOC:No offense, but that was pretty much an epic fail.

Wow, yeah Taribo, go ahead and roll percentile for that critical fail. And yes, you'll need to take a move action to get into the room for a clear shot. Though if you want to take the -4 penalty for shooting past your friends, I'll take that into account for what happens as a result of your percentile roll.
Good luck.
The remaining rat's quickly swarm over Malthos Snakes and Fredric.
Spoiler
There's just 3 left. 1 attacks a snake, the other two Attack Fredric.
lol oh well... first a critical hit, then a critical failure. I wonder what will happen.
I wasn't sure if there was a penalty for shooting past teammates... but ye, if there is such a thing I meant to avoid it by walking into the room (hence my +2 instead of -2 in the roll)..
TheBigDiceOfEpicPhail - (1d100)[99]
/Edit: ahaha, 99! Whats that? I bet its really bad. Like, shooting myself in the head bad.
