-=In the Grim Darkness of the far future, there are only ponies.=-
The planet Incipio.
Long ago, this planet was part of a staging ground for the Luna heresy: great numbers of Space Mareines had clashed, sister against sister, on this forsaken world. After, it had been largely abandoned by the forces of Chaos, and the Imperium kept a vague eye on it. More recently, entire imperial guard regiments used the colony as a staging ground, due to it's well-placed strategic value against the Dau Empire and the Paranid Hive Fleet Shoryu.
But now the planet itself has come under assault, beset on all sides by the tides of war, the planet has been thrust into conflict once again...
Whether brought there by the massive resources at the heart of the planet's thriving economy, in search of relics, or even just for the slaughter, you and your forces have come for this world.

Important points
1) Ponyhammer is a ponified version of warhammer based off of several concept arts that can be found here.
2) Though this is now done with ponies, Ponyhammer is still grimdark.
3) Please post what general faction you wish to be. Specific factions (Such as craftworlds, chapters or Hivefleets) are not necessary at this time but they are appreciated. Also, please give a reason for coming to this world. This planet's been witness to many wars)
4) This is free form because I want to release the reins and let the players decide how this goes down. That said, I would like to see this campaign end at some point and ask that if you aren't prepared to lose, please reconsider joining. However, I will say this: please, please, PLEASE talk with the players of any faction that's giving you grief before you godmod your way to victory.
5) I'll make a map if yall want it, but let me know what you want on the map.
6) I am writing this past midnight. PLEASE tell me if I missed something.
Bone Crusher of da Broken Tusk's 'ere, and ready to smash dem ponies and break dere 'ting! We be 'earin 'bout a big scrap goin' on here, and we aim to get a piece of de action.

Probably not much of a faction, but Inquisitors can pull some scary ****, and I'm thinking there's some Heresy Macguffin on this world worth the Inquisiton's attention.

... Plus, you know... If things get out of hand, I can EXTERMINATUS as a way to get everypony back on track. I'm used to playing really powerful characters in D&D, I know how to not abuse power, no worries.

Meh. Good enough
I don't think I need to approve your faction but if I did I would.

This character... really worries me. First, an Inquisitor that walks into a warzone is generally smart enough to bring a group of forces of the imperium with him/her. You could commandeer the Brothers of Combat, i suppose... but you make it sound like he/she is going in alone.
Secondly, Exterminatus... It's a neat piece of lore for wrapping up plots or explaining how something stays contained to one planet, but I don't think it would work that well in a collaborative scenario like this.

In ages past a group of Eldeer were slain on Incipio. There soulstones lost and buried. Or picked up by ponies as family heirlooms Now with the Eldeer have foreseen a chance to recover the fallen members of their Herd. A chance born in the flames of war.
Forces: Small elite taskforce with a well hidden base. Not actually trying to claim the planet
Is this alright?

Sure. If you don't mind, I have an idea of how to draw the Eldeer into a direct conflict with the inquisitor.
That's four factions and one inquisitor. Guess i'll start drawing up the map... soon as I get home in a couple of hours.

The Inquisitor is going to be a support character, mostly. And Exterminatus is most likely not going to even be an option, so no worries there.
I wholeheartedly approve of any scenario with the Inquisitor and the Eldeer.
... I suppose Greymane has his entourage with him, but it's a specialist taskforce, not a large military force. Probably a standard adventuring party, actually (leader, skillmonkey, healbot, and tank (assuming the Inquisitor is a unicorn powerful enough to take on the mage role)). Maybe a Blank for extra fun. ^^
I'll choose a different faction if you'd like. Dau could be fun, although I'll have to refresh my memory of the Tau fluff. Or Dark Eldeer for teh lolz. Anything you like.

Well it wouldn't be very much fun if I could just grab the soulstones from unarmed civilians
Fighting the inquisitor works out really well as we can have smaller fights and it still be realistic. (Realistic sounds like a very silly word right now)

What? No Imperial Guards representative? For shame!
Ponies! Welcome to the frakking Equestrian Guard. Out there, beyond these gates are the enemies of the Princess. Enemies that would devour you in a heartbeat. Enemies like the brutish Hogz. The treacherous Eldeer. The ever-present Chaos. We are the hammer to which the Princess uses to crush these xenos and heretics. We are the wall holds back these foul creatures on our world. Equestria expects you to give your life in service of the Princess.
For glory! For the Equestria! For the Princess!
- Colonel Bane Firestone of the 23rd Danopath Regiment, Introductory Briefing.
EDIT: Changed to Equestrian
EDIT2: For reference pictures, I recommend this artist's gallery.
And if you want codex entries/further details/names and locations, the dudes in spacebattles.com probably worked them all out if you want to crib em.
"Well, the Great and Powerful Trixie can't actually transport you to Equestria... But!
The Great and Powerful Trixie can beat you over the head until you think that's what happened!"
If it's not too late, can I join as Haynonus, leader of a small heretical cult, based around the excessive "Heretical purging" of anyone who doesn't like the greatest of all primarchs, Fluttershy?
Spoiler
A faction doomed to be useless, and die quickly.

Sure. It's already implied that there's a chaos cult on the planet anyway.
Am I correct in assuming Fluttershy died before her Legion turned to chaos?

So who were the Primarchs in this world, anyway? and which canon ones do they roughly correspond to?
Obviously the Mane Cast, and Luna, and probably Derpy as well. And it's painfully obvious that Luna = Horus. But that still leaves a lot of open slots. In the canon, there are 20 total primarchs, 18 that we know about (it's strongly suggested that the other two were total failures and had to be wiped, although it' also suggested that their legions joined the Ultramarines).
My best bet on Twi is Guilliman, of the Ultramarines, simply because she best fits the big blue boy scouts. And I could totally see her obsessively writing a book on the ins and outs of warfare. If she goes Chaos, probably a good match for The Thousand Sons' Primarch simply because magic.
Fluttershy strikes me as a fairly good match for Sanguinius, although if we're going with her legion becoming Chaos Mareines she'd probably be Lorgar.
(Oh jeez, we also have to decide which of the Mane Cast falls to chaos...)
I'd say Rarity is an ok match for Fulgrim of the Emperor's Children... The quest for perfection would certainly match up, and I could definitely see her falling to Slaanesh or at least this world's equivalent...
Rainbow Dash... hmmm... Leman Russ maybe? And as the Element of Loyalty, I can't see her falling to Chaos unless something large and plot-related is the cause.
Pinkie Pie would have fallen to chaos. As for her match, I'd say World Eaters. Chaos and parties and slaughter for all eternity...
AJ would be a match for Rogal Dorn of the Imperial Fists... And no, I'm not just saying that because of the color of her coat/mane. She's got the whole steadfastness thing going.
Derpy... I have no clue, honestly.
Now to convert it all into pony puns and smack me over the head for suggesting that any of the mane cast would have fallen to chaos.

Ultramarines-Twilight
Space Wolves-Rainbow?
Blood Angels-Fluttershy
Dark Angels-Perhaps Trixie? She's a villain who everyone likes... she could be Cypher. xD
Imperial Fists-Applejack
White Scars-Also fits Rainbow. Spitfire?
Raven Guard-Not a clue. Derpy? Derpy as an unseen slayer is a funny idea IMO.
Iron Hands-(shrug) Maybe Guardopolis?
Salamanders-Spike? I mean... well, it makes sense, right?
Black Legion-Luna.
World Eaters-I guess it COULD be Pinkie...
Emperor's Children-Pinkie or Rarity. Or Berry Punch.
Thousand Sons-Twilight or Trixie?
Death Guard-...I got nothing. Derpy?
Iron Warriors-...I kinda like the idea of cyberfluttershy as a villain...
Night Lords-Not a clue.
Word Bearers-(shrug)
Alpha Legion-Lyra and Bonbon!

RD strikes me as a good fit for Sanguinius, partly because of the wings but also because Sanguinius died out of loyalty to the Emperor. Twi/Rarity would be a good fit for Guilliman, Applejack's probably Dorn... and the Space Wolf's affinity for their wolves seems a good fit for I CANNOT BELIEVE I AM COMPARING SPACE VIKINGS TO FLUTTERSHY!
There are 9 loyal legions. That's 9 Primarchs: the mane six, and three more.
Guess which group of ponies I assigned those to
The other primarchs would probably be antagonists/villians. GPT, Gilda, maybe even Discord*
-----
*"But... you're a stallion, you can't be a primarch! That makes no sense!"
"Oh what fun is there in making sense? "
If that's the case, Discord is definitely Lorgar - he corrupted Horus and after he ascended withdrew to meditate for millenia.

I demand Lyra to be one of the Primarchs. No matter how implausible that may be.
There's one primarch that, unknown to even his own legion, later regretted turning against the Emperor, but had his soul taken away and his body possessed by a demon. I think it was Alpharius?

Approval, except they should really all be ponies. Male/female we can fudge a bit, but not interspecies stuff...
And for some reason I really like the idea of at least some of the mane 6 falling to chaos. Must be all the grimdark.
