Since time immemorial, great demons cavorted and battled with endless abandon across the surface of the world Thrydd, leaving little for the other races the gods had created.
Ten thousand years ago, the great demigod Kuas banded the races of Thrydd together with his iron will, unspeakable ferocity, and grand charisma, and created a great host to battle the Demons. At his side were his boon companions, the human warrior Devla Alorinn the Unfailing, the elven wizard
Seras Banton, and the dwarven weaponsmith Halik the Forgotten. These three were granted great power, enhancing their already significant abilities. Devla, already stubborn and strong willed, was made incapable of failing at any task he truly set himself to. Seras was gifted with arcane might the likes of which has never been seen on this world, before or since. And Halik, the humble weaponsmith, found he could never tire, and his skill in forging was increased ten thousand-fold, crafting great Demon-bane weapons and armour. Together, they threw their all behind Kuas' banner.
Great battles were fought, with untold thousands dying on both sides of the conflict. Titanic gouges were ripped into the earth, creating valleys and mountains, as Seras and his cadre of wizards contended with the unworldly magiks of Enraon the Unclean and Asraad Three-Eye, while Devla dueled with the likes of Nollazha Frightclaw, Utrheh, and the Suneater.
Through many decades of war, the Demons were thrown from the surface of Thrydd, cursed by Kuas to burn forever more in the sky, to replace the sun which the Demons had destroyed in a desparate gambit.
With great ceremony, Kuas was named King over all of Thrydd, and became known as "Light's Restoration". He has ruled ever since, with his companions Devla and Seras by his side, both granted long-life by their lord.
However, this one hundred century history has been far from peaceful. Rebellions and wars with less civilized races dot Kuas' reign like stars in the sky, leading to the complete annihilation of many peoples, such as the orcs, goblins, and even the dwarves and gnomes.
In the past few decades, Kuas has not been seen in person, with Devla and Seras handling matters of state themselves. Any who question their rule or where Kuas has gone have been met with silence.
In Kuas' absence, a great threat to the kingdom has lifted is rotten head in recent years. A faction of necromancers, calling themselves the Gravelords, have raised the body of Halik the Forgotten. The powers of creation given to him by Kuas long ago, he has used to create unlife in the bodies of his fallen race, all over Thrydd. Great rivers of undead dwarves have been seen migrating back to their mountain holds, sealing the vast gates they had left open to their supposed allies long ago. Halik has sworn that, with the rotting, decayed carcasses of his fallen people, he will smother the life out of the Kuas Kingdom.
