Ummmm... mom just puts things on a pan. Or into boiling water. Or into the oven. I don't know how she does it, exactly. Brinika is entering unfamiliar territory here. She's at the age when cooking seems like magic done by your parents.

Sophie's attention might be caught by a sudden explosion of strange magical energy - and the redheaded figure bouncing 200 feet into the air, backflipping, golden blades flashing in the sun as she comes down on the island in the lake!

"I'm making a dress. This is all very nice when it's dry, but it looses all modesty when it's wet. Typical of elves to supply impractical clothing." Myrim seems practiced at weaving, especially as such a slimy material and webbed fingers can't be helping much.

Sophie blinks. Explosions aren't something that should be happening in a well-organized, safe campsite. She gets up carefully and heads towards the lake, activating her Second Sight.

Oooooh. A dress from plants? That's cool! Weird, but cool. And Brinika guesses it makes sense for someone living in water.

"Yes. But cotton, like this dress I'm wearing, is also made from a plant. So's hemp, and probably other stuff. I'm not too good at non-marsh plants. What are your clothes made of?" Myrim looks up, a curious look in her golden eyes.

Sophie's second sight will reveal that a significant amount of strange magic was used to propel somebody into the air, on a ballistic trajectory terminating on the island.

Brinika tugs at the sleeve of her dress. It's a fabric made from a kind of worm.

Sophie gets into one of the paddleboats that Magtok hasn't stolen yet and swims to the island, following the trajectory.

"Eugh. That's... Kind of gross." Myrim hooks her lip in disgust and sticks her tongue out slightly. It's got a greenish tint to it.

As Sophie approaches the island, she'll likely spot Shrike, spinning like a dervish and doing backflips, swords in hand.

Sophie sighs and shakes her head. She should have expected it. Was the fireworks display really necessary? She asks as she walks slowly towards the other woman...
...and as she didn't switch her Second Sight off, when Shrike looks at her she might, for a split-second, spot not a short, dark-haired woman in worn jeans and a hoodie but a sleek, tall, pale and dark-haired woman in an elaborate ornate robe robe with a shining golden symbol on her forehead - a circle with a smaller disc in it.

She doesn't want another mutiny.

Reinholdt says with a slight head nod.

Ermine seems to get an idea. Her whiskers continue to quiver.

"Or I could pretend ta kidnap and hold em hostage. Den tha crew would be totally fooled. We don't have ta lock em in tha bridge if dey fink dey're harmless, so dey can sight-see! Ye can pay tha ransom afterward, dey go home wit' experience, an' every'uns happy."

The devious pirate just wants the money, I bet.

"Hmmm... might be hard to convince them to go on a piratenapping tour."

Reinholdt ponders.

"No. No wait. That's just crazy enough they'll find it far more enjoyable than an actual ride. I'll talk to them about it, but go ahead and plan on it."

"Great! Dis is gonna be fun!"

Ermine swishes her tail.

Reinholdt smiles and goes to give Ermine pets. Pet pet.

"We have all the best ideas. We really should share sometimes."

"Well, I did 'ave dis idea ta open a brewery..."

And make rum! Tons of rum! It would never be gone again!

Ermine "purrs" when she gets pets. Don't tell anybody though. Pirates aren't known for their adorable cuteness, they need to be tough.

Ermine's not tough. She couldn't even handle a rum bath!

"I have a feeling you'd drink yourself out of business..."

Ermine's ears droop. Oh well, it was such a good idea too.

"Hmm... well... you could open your own brewery, but put someone else in charge of inventory and selling. That way any time you want rum, you have to pay the same price everyone else does."

She'd still be able to make money!
But it sort of defeats the point of opening it for infinite rum.

Reinholdt is trustworthy... but not about rum. He's almost as alcoholic as Ermine.
