"But would it work around a transformation?" Jamie asks, pointing out the problem she sees.

"Of course." Vincent says, moving to offer Caroline his hand for escorting her back to NO.

"Hmmm... good point."

"That would be something we'd need to test a whole awful lot," Jamie agrees.

"Yeah, you're right.

Can you use any magic when you aren't transformed, though?"

"Not really magic, but I can use a few psionic things - sonic blasts and such," Jamie explains. "Anything more is kinda erattic."

"Do you think it's a skill thing, or power?"

Caroline takes the offered hand an stands up. Thank you, Vincent. she's a little groggy looking, and feels it. She wraps an arm around Vincent., for support.

"Both? I know I'm slowly learning more stuff as time goes by..."

Absolutely nothing? That's... really not good. Rae is honestly not sure where to go at this point. He pulls out of Waterstrider's mind, and stares at his ring for about a minute, thinking. He then starts talking. "His mind is in pretty bad shape. He's completely animal right now, I couldn't find a single purely human thing to grasp onto to try to bring out the rest of him. But I'm not giving up. I'm going to go get my wife, and hopefully I'll think of something while I'm doing that. If not, she probably will She's a lot more experienced than I am."

Rae stands up, and turns to leave the cabin. Just before he reaches the door, he looks back. "Oh. Before I go, though, I think I'll try this." He waves his hand, and a new paw should appear where the missing one is. It should feel real, and move just like a real paw would, but it obviously isn't. It's blue and slightly translucent, for one. For two, it won't feel pain, and would be relatively hard to break, but I wouldn't push it too far. "It's not as good as putting the old one back on, but that should help him a lot. It also probably scared him. Just remember, don't lose hope, or he might lose it." It probably refers to the new paw, but maybe not.

Now, if he's not stopped, Rae will proceed to go fetch his wife!

Main Cabin - Waterstrider

The Wolfen stiffens as the new paw is put on, and he stops shaking. Once Rae leaves however, he stands and bursts off into the opposite direction. He's cunning enough to turn his head and use his shoulder to break through the back door before running into the woods silently.

Now there's a near 300lb feral wolf on the loose, with a small halfling girl still clinging to his neck.

((As an OOC note, I was trying to show that anything supernatural was not going to be the right way to heal him.))

Lily squeals in startlement, and then wheees! in fun as Waterstrider runs away. She isn't afraid at all, and the fun momentarily keeps her from worrying about the fact that her friend is terrified.


Back in the cabin, Brand and Pansy watch, dumbfounded.

"He took Lily!"

"I'm sure she'll be safe..."

"Waterstrider!" Renetta screams. She starts struggling to her feet to try and run after him. Someone will have plenty of time to stop her.

Two halflings will very firmly try to take hold of Renetta. "No. You stay here."

"I think we should take her to the infirmary."

Pansy nods, and the halflings will try to do that.

[Gulaghar]

[Main Cabin]

"But someone needs to go after Waterstrider. He's not himself." Renetta will be stopped by the halflings, however, and will go along willingly to the infirmary. She has had far too much stress today. Her stress levels weren't exactly low before this either.

Forest

Waterstrider runs fast, refusing to slow down for several long minutes. Eventually though, a familiar scent catches his nose, and he begins to follow it. Lily might know that he's making his way to Pathfinder's Hut, where Waterstrider and Renetta have been staying for now. Once he pads into the small clearing, he enters the hut, sniffing the air.

The wolfen will let Lily off gently before leaping up onto Renetta's bed and starts gnawing at the new paw, to try and get rid of the unnatural appendage. His powerful jaws should make short work of it.

"You don't like it, do you?" Lily says, petting him gently as he works.

And since she is hoping that he will be successful, I imagine that will be enough, along with the chewing, to dispel the Blue Lantern created item?

Any security forces or wandering GLoG members may notice that some sort of undead woman has gotten herself wedged between a couple cacti, and doesn't seem to be enjoying herself one bit. She seems to be some sort of zombie or ghoul, with pale skin and blood-red tattoos - though if the cactus-cuts on her skin suggest anything, it's that her own blood is inky black rather than red.

After some vague flailing, it seems that the ghoul is most firmly stuck.

"Oh, goodness - are you OK, ma'am? I can get you out..."

The ghoul glances up slightly awkwardly at the man as he approaches. She certainly is in quite a predicament, here.

"I THINK I MIGHT BE." She responds, her voice carrying with it a slight echo. She squirms a little again, without much success. "YES. I'M STUCK."

"Well, don't worry, I'll have you out in a jiffy."
He quickly pulls on a pair of thick gloves and starts...manipulating the cactus?
It does start spreading apart more to release her.

Eventually, she manages to tumble forwards onto the grounds, unsticking herself with the help of the... cactus gardener? In any case, she's finally freed! But maybe just a little prickly.

"THANKS. WHY ARE THERE CACTI HERE?" she asks, rubbing her head a little as she stands again. Is this place even a desert? I thought it was some sort of pine forest camp...

"Defense. Any bad guys who try to attack find themselves stuck in the cactus."

It is in a pine forest! Just with little patches of sand, each containing a single, three-block-high cactus around the perimiter...

"Er...why didn't you use one of the paths?" he asks, reasonably.

She seems confused.

"PATHS?" The ghoul begins to look around, trying to catch a glimpse of these 'paths'. Those certainly would have helped avoid being hopelessly lost in the forest all that time.
