If you do need a server, I have one set up that I'm not using.

Well you seem to have several potential volenteers.

So it seems. It's certainly something I'll need to consider.

In other news, sheep are woolly jerks, and don't appear enough. All I want is to put in some nice carpet!

BTW, sorry for being somewhat quiet lately. I am doing some MUCH overdue maintenance on my house. Thorough cleaning of the downstairs, plumbing, HVAC, carpet, and so on. I've spent $12k in the past 2 days, and things are a mite crazy atm.

Wow. Sounds rather hectic.

Anyways, I was thinking of doing an RP-style thing myself. I was looking back through the thread to find the time Iska and Destro were talking about recording programs, but I couldn't find it. What programs do you recommend?

I use FRAPS. It has the occasional eccentricity, but it is easy to use and reliable. Unfortunately, it is also not free.

I Windows Movie Maker to edit and upload my episodes. That is free, but it is also very bare bones. As long as you aren't looking for too many fancy editing tricks, it will do.

Almost sounds like your doing a full scale renovation here

It didn't start out that way, but yeah. "Hm, my downstairs looks like a bomb exploded. Right, let's get help." "Family room carpet is dead? Well, ok, I can fix that" "What do you mean my kitchen sink plumbing is BUSTED?" "And the furnace?!"

Good times.

Bloody hell, and I thought my week was expensive.

I also use FRAPS. It doesn't cost all that much, and it works really well. One of my favourite LPers on youtube uses Camstudio, I believe, and some other ones I've seen use Hypercam.

Hum. Looks like the server was restarted over night by my provider. Good for the server, but unfortunate for anything running on it. Tsk.

A backup has been made and the server should be running again. Good time for that anyway.

(Meanwhile, how's the status of Industrial-/Build-/Runecraft and bukkit? Are those 1.0 ready yet?)

Apparently PlayClaw, a recording program, is free to download today. Good for anyone that wants to record gameplay.

I was made aware of this by Minecraft youtuber PaulSoaresJr

Right, map update, go! o/ (32 mb)

Not sure if that much changed, but the map certainly got bigger. Lots of terrain to crop out once we switch to 1.0.

Wow, our server looks like hell. Seriously, there are places where it is just kind of a mess!

I don't think cropping is doing that much to help, other than make our server look more disjointed and chaotic.

Well, part of that is probably because the maptool doesn't know how to render any of the Industrialcraft or Buildcraft blocks, so it just leaves them out. There's at least one location I can pick out with an invisible castle.

Why is the obsidian red and the leaves pink?

Cartograph G. I suspect i'd need to handcraft some textures somehow to add them to the texture sheet, which i don't know how to do. >_>

(Obsidian is red so i can actually see it and leaves are on dark cherry blossom trees.)

Hmn. I may be back on soon, and I plan to start a new sub-project. I am going to need some help, though. In the end, I'll need:
About 10000 solar generators
About 12000 glass fiber cable
About 1000 batboxes
About 100 MFEs
About 10 MSFUs
Six recyclers
Several Mass Fabricators
Some voltage convertors of various types

I already have all the buildcraft stuff I need.

Anyone want to help?

Having done some actual plans now, I revise my estimate to be more like 400 batboxes, 40 MFEs, and 4 MSFUs.

Should make things easier for us. I will try to log on for a bit to fix the refinery and make a storage area for parts for the new subproject.

Also, does anyone know the way to make iron from UUmatter?

It isn't worth the trouble, I think. Actually making UUmatter is more of a pain than good old fashioned quarry extraction!

Also, count me in.

UU-matter may be useful for the non ore-veined Ores, that is to say, Tin and Copper.

It'll be fine. I'm just want fast, reliable renewable iron.

Anyways, fixed the refinery and the workshop. I think I accidentally blew the LV converters just before I left. Its all fixed now.

Anything for the subproject (I'm calling it Sub-Project POWAH) can go in the back-right quarter of the resource stacks in the settlement. I'm going to work on expanding the stacks soon.

Working on both making more quarries, and mass producing solar panels.

I fail to see how you just wanting something reduces the (potential?) strain on the server from 10k solar panels doing their thing.

Well, you needn't worry. I just recalculated for new dimensions because of the limits on landmark distances, and we only need 4096 solar generators, 6000 cable, 164 batboxes, 17 MFEs, and 2 MSFUs. For now, anyways. Damn.
