Alright, that plot I was working on is going too slowly and not as intended. I think it's time to euthanize the poor thing.

Basically, what happened was: Phil made an imperfect clone, tried to get rid of it, and it went to the island with the tire geal and started doing cybernetic and prosthetic work there, Oregon learned Phil was going to shut him down and overloaded one of Phil's ships engines and made it explode and is now psychotic and has relocated to space and is lying to the philbots he couldn't suborn. The tire geal are trying to make it in the world, but for some reason, about one in ten of them are born with strange mutations. The clone's brain is damaged from contact with Oregon, and he can't tell which of his memories are Phil's, which are Rho's, and which are downloaded from other sources.

I was kind of affraid this would happen. I really wasn't certain where to take it from where you left it at Trog's, and I didn't know enough about Phil and such to infer all that. My apologies for wrecking your fun.

Also, Psi (the clone) has been working for them, making them the cybernetics they need. He feels sick if he doesn't build often.

Riv would be interested in helping the Tire Geal, actually. As much as he hates nearly everyone, he does have a bit of compassion for genetically engineered species, and he would hate to see an entire species die. That would be a complete waste of potential.

I have some concerns about these posts here, the last four or so posts in Mallside as of this posting. This is not an objection to content in particular, but to context and location; Mallside is primarily a thread for casual interaction in a relaxed, accessible setting. Fights in general are discouraged, and events like these are likely to erupt into a fight. If this were happening in Trog's or in Inside, this would not be an issue (in fact, we have a zombie attack going on in Inside right now.) But Mallside is a particular thread with a particular purpose, an I feel these posts work against that purpose. Therefore, I feel it would be best if these posts were removed and possibly relocated to another thread.

Now, if I'm mistaken about Mallside's purpose and what sort of interaction is allowed within, then obviously I retract my statement, but in my understanding of the Mallside rules, this is too likely to spiral into a huge, massive, destructive fight for it to be welcomed.

I agree with Neon. As I understand it, Mallside was intended to be a place for peaceful interaction. There's no way for that to continue if people are being devoured by magic in the food court or flayed alive in the fountain. Fights and plots are allowed in almost every public place in the Nexus, except for the Teahouse and Mallside. I don't think it's too much to ask that two threads remain peaceful.

Lex, I'll be honest - I'd rather NO didn't get the job to track down Teq after his kidnapping of Tobias. Mostly because they can't actually complete it, since he teleported away. That, and they already have one job to track him down, which is going nowhere.

Hence why I spoilered and disclaimered my post. It was in mallside because that was where Waldorf was at the time, and it didn't make sense for someone who was having a stroke to be able to get up and walk away when I previously established that the only means he had to do so was broken.

That being said, I'm perfectly happy with retconning out these events. They were only meant in the spirit of Halloween fun, and to be a little interaction between chaoticbob and me since that hasn't happened yet for some reason.

Not always. Sometimes people spoiler simply out of courtesy. If we know there's gore or curtains or something we don't want to read beneath the spoiler, we don't have to look.

I have no idea where mods draw the line at when it comes to explicit violence and gore though.

In any event, Neon and I were objecting to the location of the posts, not the content. If the content seemed to be against forum rules, then it wouldn't be appropriate to discuss it publicly in the ooc thread, but I haven't seen anything that I thought should be reported officially.

@Slii: No one (to my knowledge) is angry at you or Bob. Please don't be discouraged or feel you've done anything wrong.

I'm mostly saying to err on the side of caution - if you think something's explicit enough to need a disclaimer, you might want to look over it and make sure it's not breaking the rules in the first place - and really, I've seen some things get scrubbed that were not as bad (in my opinion) as other things that weren't, so...

Really, the point is that spoilered posts still need to be within the forum rules. So long as you're confident that they are, go ahead. It's just a friendly warning.

Wish I'd had my phone. I'd've taken a picture of it.

EDIT: Not needed! found this on google. Not sure if it's the same pumpkin or not, but the one I saw looked exactly like that.

Anyway, since the Provost Edict thing is apparently getting retconned out I rewrote my post as if it didn't happen. ...I hope that was a good idea?
