And here's the OOC topic for you all. I ask that you wait on OOCing it up at will, so people can claim a post on the front page for pertinent note posting about their characters and such if needed.
If there are every any major Announcements I will post them on this post, AND post them as a new reply.

I'm really enjoying the Norse mythology, although I'm curious if anyone got Thrakk's "Sleipnir's Mother!" profanity. I thought it was funny, so it may become his all-purpose profane oath.

Nothing wrong with honoring the classics now and again, as long as it doesn't slip into parody.
EDIT: Question. How familiar would our characters be with the Map provided in the first post? I just noticed there are some suspicious elven ruins nearby...

Actually, I was a little confused because I got it - it took me a couple tries to realize that Sleipnir's mother's name in and of itself could be used as a profanity.
If you had any sort of local knowledge for some reason, or map available, you'd know of anything marked on the map. If you were a new arrival, not really into cartography/navigation on the way there, etc, then presume you don't know about them, but they are common enough knowledge that if you actually asked someone about it they could answer you.
2 ranks in Knowledge(local). It's not much, but at least I can make some basic checks about what's where.
Knowledge might not be great for TO (at least, not for those who aren't spamming Knowledge Devotion), but it's one of the most useful skills out there.
So then, what's with these Elvish ruins? And are there any living elves known to be in the area? I cannot help but note there are no elven cities, only ruins.

I didn't get it, because I didn't think about it. I just went right past it.
As soon as you mentioned it I knew what you meant. That's awesome.
Found a nice pic of what my char might look like in a few levels (and more than a few years, maybe ).
Ignore the name written on the drawing (damn inconsiderate artist ):
Well, as you can guess, you don't really know anything in particular about them. Other than that there are elf ruins out in the wilderness. But no particulars.
Of course, unlike the obtuse, stupid rules in the Player's Handbook about Knowledge checks, anytime you level up, OR gain a bonus to your check in some way (Skill Ranks, Int boost, even temporary ones), you can try again.
Preparing spells is supposed to take an hour. We had all just woken up when this stuff starts to happen. What do I do?

My internet is down right now so my posting might be a bit spotty, should get resolved in a few days.
Anyway, I wanted to make a knowledge check about the elf ruins (d20+3)[13]

Well, your knowledge of the Elf Ruins is fairly basic:
The elvish ruins are rumored to be very dangerous places. The few who have scouted them out and returned safely have mentioned abominations. The Ruins are old, older than Dwarfy Settlement of the area, or Human settlement, with the Elves long since having passed from the region before either arrived. Most anyone with good sense gives them a wide berth.
Hey, guys! I'm back!
My family got hit with a SECOND wave of stomach flu last week and it's been rough these last seven days. But now all's well again. So, sorry for going quiet. But I never went anywhere, really.
