Definitely keep thumbs. Ground types are awesome. Biollante is a given being the starter. Baron makes things easier but could also become a bit of a weak link. Jango and Haddock... meh, not very interested. One of them or Jack, should give. Fire types have good coverage and thumbs + biollante means that Jack is pretty redundant.

Edit: Evee is okay I guess. Good if you miss a chance at a solid water type for surf.

Ch 16 Fleed and conquered.
Spoiler

Okay what I think the majority want me to do with the team is that I box RedBaron and Haddock for Sunspot and Rainbow, and evolve Rainbow to a Vaporeon. Is that correct.

From the game corner I will be getting Porygon. The votes for it and Scyther are equal, and there is a slim chance of getting Scyther later.

In addition should Melinda tackle the gym first? Or an evil criminal organization?

Level-wise I'd say get everyone to 35 at the very least - maybe 37 just to be safe. I would tackle the game corner before Erika - lots of low-level Rockets to use as grinding fuel for the main team.

Well as long as burn them all, involves the evil characters, which at this point is really only Melinda on the main characters, then sure.

Also note Melinda's alignment has been changed to NE instead of mildly NE.

Poor Sunspot, offers to join up, so Melinda decides to beat him. Well, at least we will be seeing more of him.

I'd say do Team Rocket first, and gun for level 33 or 34 for grinding. Biollante can take on most of Giovanni's team on her own, what with that x4 typing advantage and all. Only problem is the kangaskan. As for Erika, just go with plan "Spam STAB and Supereffectives" until her plants are burned to death.

Morbid title for the win.

Comments are appreciated.

Now I need to know what level to use a Fire stone on Sunspot. The choices are now, level 37 where he learns Helping hand, level 43 where he learns Agility, and level 49 where he learns Flamethrower.

Also you may vote on what reserves I grind after Erika to level 29. The choices are Karp karp, Pestilence, Scep, Bumbles, Dee-darr, Fluffles, Zephyr, Pcebro, and Endo.

In addition do I evolve Dee-darr now or later. The choices are now, level 35 when he learns Moonlight, or wait for Bellossom. (Both Gloom and Vileplume learn Petal dance)

Also should I evolve Fluffles, or let him keep his ability

No! Not Rainbow! So much potential!

Hm, you could just give him the TM for Flamethrower. Otherwise it's going to get difficult for him to keep up.

Wait for Moonlight and then go for Vileplume. Staying a Gloom until post-game is way too long.

I wanted a Vaporeon

Yeah for 80000 dollars I don't have and are currently being tied up for Porygon. (I will get the money before it learns it though) So what level do you think I should evolve Sunspot?

For Dee-darr remember as a reserve it doesn't really matter what his skill level is.

For Sunspot, I'd say evolve sooner rather than later. You can always TM flamethrower. If memory serves, helping hand isn't all that useful, and agility, while helpful, might not be best if it means waiting for level 43. Honestly don't know the moveset Growlithe/Arcanine have in gen III, I ended up going straight from Gold to Heart Gold, they get any decent physical fire attacks this gen?

For backups, I'd say train up Karp Karp, Bumbles, Endo, and Zephyr.

Honestly forget who Fluffles is, so cannot comment on that one.

I have no preference for Dee-darr, though seeing its fully evolved form obsessed with nothing but skittles could be cute. Forget which evolution that is though...

Well I tend to be swimming in money in any run, Nuzlocke or not, so I think just evolving now would be one of the better ideas, and after Porygon go for a Flamethrower TM. I also would just suck it up and use the slots, however, so your mileage may vary. You could cheat and make the game run slow while you're at the slots, as well.

Fire attacks are always special in this gen. The only attack Arcanine can learn is extreme speed. Which it does at level 49 anyway. So that has no relevance.

Fluffles is the Meowth.

You have two more votes, do you wish to use them (Remember the first post comes with a cast list)

A friend is running an Arcanine with Dig, Bite, Aerial Ace, and Flamethrower. Forget which tms you've used but its a pretty solid set up. Might want to throw extreme speed in for one of them though.

I used Dig, (But can always get another one) and need to wait for the move relearner to learn Bite. (Sunspot was too high a level at first.)

Huh, never noticed the cast list before. Guess I should check the first post more often then.

Ok then, yeah, just evolve Sunspot, as an Arcanine has far more survivability than a Growlithe.

Other team members to train? I say Fluffles, though don't evolve him for now at least, and Dee-Darr as my last pick.

Also got a nice stat boost.

My thinking about Melinda's oration went like this.

Tons of things can be interpreted as les-yay in Kanto. It could come across as mary-sueish if Melinda was interested in girls. Because either Kanto's a hot-spot for lesbians and bi chicks, or Melinda can make even straight girls crush on her.

Meanwhile if she clearly does not want it, it becomes funny.
