No idea, but sitting in a cell makes nervous and restless. As for him I met him in some ruins on the way to the city. He complained about your boys hassling him and I thought you might know the information I asked for, but I could have used his help in pursuit of other leads. I am curious, why are you after him, if indeed you are?
sense motive (1d20+7)[27]
You might want to have someone without a creepy grin inform your guests that their questions will be answered in the morning. I would have come back if asked.
Curf was one of our employees. He left, and burned his bridges on the way out. If I had let him go discipline would fall apart. That's no way to run an organization.
As for you, you came in asking sensitive questions. We couldn't take the risk that you might disappear.

I see. Not only did he quit, he was unprofessional and disruptive about it too. More of an example to others than anything against him personally. I can respect that. In regards to us, you were trying to protect your interests. I don't agree with your methods but your motives make sense.
Now that we have who did what and why cleared, what sort of arrangement did you have in mind? Could we discuss terms in private?
diplomacy (1d20+3)[10]
If I can get my own hearing this is my proposal:
Spoiler
I can't speak for my associates, but I am willing to do several jobs, the number of which to be agreed upon prior to me doing them as an independent agent. I will work where only what I manage to pick up will be my payment. As far as my official affiliation with Red Raven goes, I don't want to exist.
Scruff motions for the three of you and three of the thugs to follow him to his office.
If Vicciano lets you live, and you agree to swear an oath of secrecy and obedience I will tell you what I'll have you do. But the terms are roughly these: You owe me a debt and until it is paid you will do what I say. At that point we may reevaluate your terms of service.
Curf, roll for HP regained from that potion.

Curf, we are surrendering to possibly save our lives and work off what we owe for killing your former associates, breaking and entering and generally being a nuisance.
Drink a cure moderate and two light wounds potions. Then pray a lot that Vicianno will be not nasty about me trying to kill him, but don't say anything. (4d8)[23]
