ps. the cult of arceus refers to the main bad guys who are a radical sect of the "cult of Arceus", which belives that Arceus is the creator, and mew as well as ghost, dark, and dragon pokemon are demons who must be eliminated in order for Arceus to return to this world
A handy way to know three turns later what type the pokemon you just were beaten up by was.

Douglas' personality description goes here
Background:
Spoiler
Douglas hates Raleigh.
That's easily the most important feature of Douglas' story. He was born to loving parents who weren't terribly fond of pokemon - they didn't mind pokemon and interacted with them frequently, but never befriended any.
Not so Douglas, though - he had pokefever since he was three.
And when he was 8, through an outrageous amount of begging to his parents and his uncles and aunts (who did more pokemon related things than his parents) and grandfather and grandmothers (who also did more pokemon related things than his parents) and his friends and their parents and complete strangers and FINE WE'LL GET YOU A POKEMON FOR CHRISTMAS SHUT UP.
But if he wanted a pokemon, he had to go through schooling, and thus spent long hours over at Goldenrod learning some of the ins and outs. So when he finally got his first pokemon, a machop, he was absolutely estatic. He absolutely doted over that pokemon, doing everything an excited eight year old could do to improve him.
But he was really, really terrible at battling.
At first, he thought his machop just kinda sucked. So did Truse (That's what he'd named his machop), which made the poor machop depressed. But every time he tested it, the machop was actually quite strong.
And... and then he began to really look at his matches, comparing it with his textbooks, and.... and really, he just wasn't very good at battling.
What made it worse was his freaking cousin Raleigh.
Dougan hated Raleigh.
And Raleigh became quite good at battling, and thus kept beating Dougan even though the former had a dark pokemon and the latter had a fighter. Dougan just sucked that badly at it.
And that made the now-10-year-old pretty miserable until he, due to a screwup in planning his schooling schedule, found himself in an outrageously boring class with a bunch of exceptionally old people. He slept through most of the beginning chunks of it until he was yelled at by his parents for the damage this was doing to his grades, and thus tried to pay attention.
And discovered the art of breeding.
And was immediately somewhere between fascinated and hooked. He learned about eggs, about breeding groups, about the way pokemon interacted, about the inner workings of pokemon on an astonishing scale, about how his machop worked.
He was just fascinated, and loved it. He also had quite a knack for it, and thus found himself actually running around from ranch to ranch despite his young age, learning from very talented breeders across the regions. When opting to focus his abilities, he hesitantely stepped towards the world of TMs - he liked learning about them and had a bit of a knack for them, but was a little uncomfortable with actually applying them to pokemon.
I mean... it didn't technically mean much, but for some reason it didn't feel right. Still, he found himself doing so more and more often as time went on.
The frustrating part was that Raleigh became better and better at battling - especially compared to Douglas. The pair's rivalry turned sour - Douglas actually was improving steadily, but still lost most of the time when Raleigh came along.
Still, by this point Truse was a machoke and loving it - Douglas' breeding tactics had finally hit their crescendo, resulting in his prize new pokemon - a camerupt. The camerupt was raised with everything Douglas knew about pokemon - and its raw might was enough to match Raleigh's increased skill at battling.
The two fought, and fought, but their last fight was at a rather critical archaeological site. Neither was supposed to be battling there, but whenever they met, tempers would flare. And Douglas' camerupt was winning this one - thus, frustrated, Raleigh ordered his Houndoom Cranidos to blast headbutt at Douglas, not his pokemon. The surprised Douglas dodged, but it smashed into a relic that was buried in the wall.
The result of this was a bright light and then an explosion.
Raleigh was saved from the explosion by being waay over there, although it did hurt his pokemon who interceeded to take the loose shrapnel.
Douglas was saved from the explosion by his Camerupt, who was very literally blown apart from the impact due primarily to attempting fervently to cover the Cranidos from harm as well. The force knocked Douglas into a coma for over a week of being in critical condition from what got through.
In addition, however, the brilliant flash sent Douglas blind.
As soon as he could walk, however, he was back to work. He mourned for his camerupt, but this seemed to only drive him to more action - internally, he hadn't really stopped feeling the loss of his beloved pokemon. He was very glad that Truse was still present - the machoke was very glad he was alive.
And it was Raleigh's fault.
Douglas hated Raleigh.
Truse acted like a seeing-eye dog for Douglas, whos vision actually did return to him after a couple years of the world being white. He focused more on his move tutorage and breeding, and he improved greatly. He didn't really have a goal anymore, he just wanted to become better and better and beat Raleigh.
As his vision slowly returned to him, though, he kind of cooled off a bit - one couldn't stay that kind of angry forever. Thus, at the instnat, he's traveling about, working on his steadily-improving breeding in the field - breeding needed one to be aware, and you couldn't do that from a lab.
(Not that he could have known, but Raleigh also felt horrible about the effects - while a bit of a jerk, he had no desire to actually kill Douglas or his pokemon, he'd just acted in anger and had no idea about the explosion nor the relic. He feels bad, but isn't completely sure how to react to this as he still also hates Douglas).

Wishlist
Spoiler
I actually am alright with most pokemon - I'm aiming for a random slew this time around, so it may be easier to put what I don't like rather than what I do. I'm not fond of 5th generation pokemon as a general ballpark, nor bidoof nor jynx. Beyond those, I can make do with about anything, so however plot goes. I'm not quite as focused on 'catching them all', so however it goes.
That stated, if it's then more convienient to have a wishlist, I'm fond of Muk, Nidoran male/nidorino/nidoking, gligar, aggron, sandshrew/sandslash, lotad series, and the swinub series. I tend to be less eager to focus on legendaries, but that is in no way a rule. I'd like some of the pokemon who bridge multiple breeding groups, especially: Spinda, Treecko, Marill, Mudkip, Nidorans, Snover, Snorunt, Seel, and Delibird. Of those, most won't actually be used in battle though (Ones I'm more interested in include Mudkip, Nidoran Males, Snover, and Delibird).
I do plan on breeding up an array more machops, as well as asking most of the party if they wouldn't mind my utilizing their pokemon as well.
Still to do: Bios for pokemon, spend money on various things (Likely mostly TMs which will then add to pokemon moves). Gotta polish off Douglas' backstory to fill in the missing categories, also his pokemon's (much more brief) bios. Solidify age, badges, and pokemon seen/caught (Although caught and stored are probably done).
Questions/Notes:
Spoiler
- Can I start off with a litter of eggs? Machoke in this case? (Er, Machop eggs thus)
- Ditto's transformation only lasts until the end of the encounter. Is it possible to ask that be waived - so I can keep my ditto in an unusual form for an extended amount of time? I'm mostly looking into that for neatness - things like 'if we run into a legendary, turn ditto into it and then return him'.
- Although on that note, it's unclear about that - does ditto remain transformed even when pokeballed and sent out again? If not, he'll be pretty bloody useless after returned as he has no other moves and transform is per-battle. :P
- Just to check - I presume it's okay that his numel and ditto were bred by him? His machoke isn't, but the other two probably should be. This is, of course, presuming dittos can breed with themselves as there's gotta be some way of getting more of them.
- How much XP do our pokemon have? Barely enough to be whatever level they are?
- My default assumption was still that, despite the plethora of breeders out there, nobody has ever seen a pokemon actaully lay an egg. My mental picture on how that worked was that well... it's really obvious that two compatable pokemon have eggs if you leave them alone long enough. But if you walk into the room and sit there or have a video camera there, you just see two pokemon chillin' on opposite sides of the room as each other, so it's one of those turn-your-back things. Breeders can then tweak the rates and the like, but it's still somewhat behind the scenes. Is this reasonable, or should I mentally swap things to being more earth-normal?
- What range do medic abilities have? Do I get to be a Final Fantasy Tactics chemist? ^_^ I'm presuming they're all essentially 'touch range'?
- Also on that note, I have no idea how the fluff for medic abilities works. If the assumption is that I'm carrying around enough herbs and medical supplies to heal people, but these herbs cost money, then where does 'pay 100' come from when I do it to someone else? Or is this something that should just stay to the background, and people can ask me to help them out and OOCly pay 100 poke or I'm out of appropriate supplies when they ask? Just a little confused... I guess it'd make more sense if I had a miniature pokemon centre box that had an 'insert cash here' slot or sommat. :P
Edit with new question: Can... any pokemon breed? I know in the games you can't breed certain pokemon, but Pichu (Selected as a random example) doesn't seem to suggest anything about that.
Of course, I /presume/ that I'm going to be more of a backup healer, as the healer can heal people without costing cash, so I'm more for emergencies, when healer is out of daily uses, particular effects healers can't cure that medics can, or if she doesn't want to heal / is mad at someone or sommat. ^_^ Douglas only has his toes in medic thus far because he's new at it - he picked it up at all out of worry of... well, his Camerupt dying.
Color is Dark Green.

Peter Stone is the son of Mr. Stone, president of the Devon Corporation. His brother is Steven Stone, Champion of the Hoenn League and collector of rare stones. All of his life, Peter has been overshadowed by Steven and his accomplishments. Even though Steven did not mistreat Peter, he still resented his older brother for a long time. When Peter turned 14, he ran away from home with his pet Larvitar, seeking adventure and his own identity. Along the way, he found himself connected to rock-type pokemon. He acquired several of them, and found himself to be in-tune with the earth. He discovered that he had the ability to use techniques similar to the ones his pokemon could perform. He traveled through many lands, meeting new pokemon and seeing breath-taking landscapes. Eventually he came to terms with who he was, and reconciled with his family. He has not lost his spirit of adventure, however. He now finds himself on a boat in the Kanto region, where he hopes to discover some new pokemon.

Valiant was given to Peter by his father when he was a young boy. Peter gave him this name after he protected Peter from a swarm of Rattatta whose nest the boy had accidentally upset. He has been his constant companion throughout his travels. He is a heroic young Larvitar, and he often sacrifices himself for the good of others. He prefers to stay out of his pokeball, but does not dislike being inside of it when traveling long distances.

To pick up a random scent from nothing, a check of 16 or better on d20 will allow the Pokemon to follow that scent. Peter was traveling through the Ilex forest in the Johto region, and had stopped to observe the shrine. An elderly couple were kneeled there, and appeared to be praying. When he approached them, they got up and took an object out of the shrine. They placed it in his hands, saying, "There is a curse on this egg, and we cannot hatch it. Please, take this evil away from our village, lest it spread to our other eggs." The egg was hard and rocky, and had a strange symbol carved on the outside of it. Peter agreed to take the egg, and he left the forest. He, too, had trouble hatching it - he couldn't even feel anything moving inside it. After several weeks of travel and with no response from the egg, he buried it in a sunny spot in a field, figuring that the infant pokemon had not survived. The ordeal taxed him physically and emotionally, so he laid down to sleep next to the burial ground. When he awoke in the morning, he was amazed to see that three red-orange-colored leaves had sprouted from cracks in the top of the egg. He exhumed the egg and kept it in a clay pot, treating it like a seedling. When he tried to water it, the leaves moved away from the trickling water. He decided not to water it, but gave it lots of sun, like how a cactus is raised. After a week's time, the hard shell of the egg fully cracked, revealing a baby Bonsly. The middle of its forehead bore the same symbol that was on its egg. He researched the glyph, and learned that it was an ancient rune that symbolized protection. He named the baby after the rune's modern translation. Eihwaz is mischievous, but not cruel, and knows how to take a joke.

Peter had traveled to Nacrene Museum to revive a fossil his brother had given him. While there, Team Plasma assaulted the place, attempting to steal some rare, and expensive, artifacts. When Peter was still young and resentful of his older brother, he received a package at a Poke Mart. Inside was a letter and a heavy rock. The letter was from Steven. "Dear brother, I have not seen or heard from you for a long time. We all miss you and want to hear from you. I was excavating an underwater temple in the middle of the ocean when I found this fossil. I want you to have it. Father tells me you are in the Unova region - you should visit the Nacrene Museum and show them this fossil. I am sure they will be interested. Sincerely, Steven." Reading the letter caused a flood of emotion in Peter, and would later lead to him reconciling with his family. He visited the Nacrene Museum, and they agreed to reanimate the fossil for him. A linguistics researcher at the museum suggested the name Chelonii - she said it means "Waves" in the old tongue of Unova. Chelonii can be stubborn at times, but she is also self-assured and supportive of her friends. If Eihwaz plays a practical joke on her, she will retaliate by watering him.

Brick was a member of Rayquaza's flock. Peter asked him to join his team, but Brick required a show of force. When Valiant knocked him unconscious with one powerful attack, Peter had an easy opportunity to capture the prehistoric Pokemon. Instead, with the help of Tony, he nursed it back to health so that it could have the chance to choose its allegiance. Brick respected this act, and joined Peter's team without any further resistance.
Personality:
Aeon is very quiet about her past, who she is, and where she comes from. While she can be quite friendly when she opens up it takes quite a bit for her to actually open up and become friends with someone. Her slow bonding is meant to protect her so that she doesn’t open up to the wrong people again who can try and hurt her and abuse her power.
Background: Recommended DM only, but you can read if you like spoilers
Spoiler
Depending on a person’s view of pokemon will determine how people view Aeon. She has been called things ranging from the next step in evolution to an abomination and a perversion of the natural order. In fact, at age sixteen the first time she revealed what she was the town she was in tried to kill her and almost succeeded. She was rescued by a group of men who formed an organization called ‘Team Rocket’. Her gratitude towards her saviors however ended quickly when she found out it wasn’t so much a rescue so much as a kidnapping so that they could try and abuse her powers. For years she was locked up, experimented on, and abused until a new member freed her. She didn’t know much about the man, but eventually learned that the man wanted to be a pokemon master and had been working undercover and was hunting for clues to Latias with the hopes of forming a bond. When he found out that Team Rocket had captured the Avatar of Latias he broke his cover and freed her.
Aeon grew sad hearing the story and feared she had been rescued from one group, only to be used by another man. However, he surprised her when he set her free with no terms or anything. She caught the man’s name “Michael” before he left, but little more than that and his story. The man’s actions had been thorough however and most of the data on her had been deleted from the Team Rocket computers leaving them very little to go on except the physical descriptions of people who had seen her. Since then Aeon has wondered around the world to avoid Team Rocket and fulfill her role as the Avatar.

Befriend
At-will
Pokemon you restrain
Give the Pokemon the Helpful title. This ally will remain under the Ranger's guidance until it is hit by an attack, severely distracted, or has helped the Ranger in a significant manner once, such as by making an attack. You do not get a list of any capabilities or moves you cannot deduce yourself, and it cannot be taken from the area you found it in or it will run away. You may only give the Helpful title to one Pokemon at a time.
Companion
At-will
A Pokemon you restrain
Give the Pokemon the Companion title. You may only have one Companion at a time. If you give a new Pokemon the Companion title, you free the other Pokemon and replace it with your new Companion. To make the wild a Companion you must sacrifice half an hour upon giving it the Companion title to bond with the wild. This process starts the Companion at Loyalty 2 at least and obedient towards the Ranger, regardless of circumstances before Befriending. The Companion gains experience and levels exactly like a Captured Pokemon, as well as counting as Owned for the purposes of levels and features, but cannot participate in official battles or contests (doing so is fraud). The Pokemon cannot be returned to a poke ball and it costs 150 credits to heal at a Pokemon center. Companions are considered Helpful, but act in combat as if they were owned.

A restrain roll
When Restraining a Pokemon, subtract your DEX or CHA modifier multiplied by 3 from your Restrain roll. This may only be used once per restrain roll. If you successfully restrain a Pokemon when using this feature, you are given a partial list of moves known by the Pokemon, and know of all available capabilities.

Owned Pokemon
Make a Restrain Check. You may target the owned Pokemon with Befriend. Owned Pokemon will not attack their own trainer unless they are Loyalty 2 or lower. Pokemon of Loyalty 3 or higher will not attack allies of their trainer. Owned Pokemon are Helpful until having been returned by their trainer, or until they have attacked a valid target. Attempting to force a high loyalty Pokemon to attack their allies will negate the restrain. You do not learn the Pokemon's Loyalty value upon restraining.

If the Pokemon has smelt whom they want to track in the past day, or one of their personal belongings, they can pursue that prey with a check of 11 or better on d20. To pick up a random scent from nothing, a check of 16 or better on d20 will allow the Pokemon to follow that scent. If a Pokemon learns the Move Odor Sleuth and does not have the Tracker Capability, they gain Tracker.

Character Info
Spoiler
Physical Description:
Kara is a rather small and light. Due to her small size, people tend to think she is younger than she is, much to her annoyance. She has straight blonde hair that if left loose would go down to just below her shoulders. Normally she keeps her hair in a ponytail tucked in her hat.
Personality:
Kara is friendly, happy, and upbeat around pokemon and her few close friends. She prefers to hang out with pokemon than with people and has an easier time making friends with pokemon. She hates to see pokemon harmed and would rather feel the pain herself than let someone hurt those she cares about.
Background:
Kara doesn't know much about her early childhood. All she knows is that she was born in Viridian Forest and as such had strange powers. Early on in life she viewed these powers not as a blessing but as a curse. First her parents freaked out and abandoned her to an orphanage, then she was shunned there by paranoid people who thought her strange, and finally after a few accidentally uses of her power due to her inability to control them she was kicked out of one orphanage and sent to another. This repeated multiple times in her early life as she would try and hide her powers, make friends, and then when she thought they really liked her and wouldn't be scared she'd show them and be shunned and kicked out once again.
By the age of ten, Kara had gone through too many orphanages to remember and finally ran away and went to where she was born Viridian Forest to try and find out why she was different. It was there that she met a Dratini who lived in the forest and was very shy. The two of them bonded due to their mutual shyness and eventually Dratini and Kara were inseparable.
Kara and Tina lived in Viridian Forest eating berries, drinking from a small lake deep within, and occasionally venturing out to Viridian City or Pewter City when necessary. On her trips to Viridian, Kara would swing by the trainer school to study and learn more. She had a strong lust for learning and a keen mind. Some considered her a genius.
By age twelve, Kara was comfortable in Viridian Forest and lived happily with pokemon who she found she could communicate with thanks to her power. Her reputation amongst pokemon as a kind hearted girl who could hear them and heal them caused her to meet quite a few pokemon who she raised and played with. Some would join her as she traveled around Kanto every so often in order to learn more. However, no matter where in Kanto she went, she always returned to Viridian Forest after a few months at most.

Physical Description:
5'11", lanky, but strong looking, as if he has spent time helping with heavy lifting. Definitely not set completely in this world, as he tends to stare...someplace. Can't be all bad, as he normally has a dreamy smile on his face. Red hair and vibrant green eyes.
Personality: Offsetting, as he seems unfocused mentally. This can be due to talking to potted plants or pokemon, or even (as it looks to others) thin air, as seen from when he once carried on a conversation with particularly long lived hydrangea bushes for two hours. He also tends to seem zoned out. However, these are side effects of his powers more than anything else. Doesn't see death as all that bad, but isn't focused on it.
Background:
Tony is part of the family that sees to Lavender Tower. However, he is an oddity in the family. You see, unlike most of the caretakers, he can see dead people, and dead pokemon. He can also talk to plants and pokemon living or dead, but that's unrelated. Why? No clue. Sometimes this crops up in his family, due to the sheer amount of death they are exposed to, but I digress. He has power, and what's more, he has voices telling him of places that could use it, so once he hit ten, he began his journey with his loyal houndour Flare, who had patrolled the tower with him for years at this point.
Since then, he has gone from country to country, even visiting Mount Pyre for a time, and eased the passing of poor, damned souls wandering the world. Now, he is finally returning to his home country for a short time, looking to see how things have changed in his absence before going back to work.
Past noteworthy adventures have included laying a ghost of an aerodactyl whose fossil was disturbed near Eucreteak to rest by reuniting it with its last clutch of eggs, protecting and trying to save a dying marowak (but failing, resulting in Lil' Helper), the Zubat affair (poor Cudgel), and getting second place in Hoenn's Funniest Capture Videos for meeting Turbo.
In the past few months, he was passing through the Viridian Forest when the trees mentioned that a human had been repeatedly feeding from their berries, and interacted with pokemon in a way that, to Tony, hinted of her having some special abilities. Following the guidance of the Forest, he found the younger girl, with her dratini. After showing his own abilities, they've been adventuring together fairly constantly.

Tracker: Pokemon with the Capability Tracker have a strong sense of smell that they can use to follow other Pokemon or people. If the Pokemon has smelt whom they want to track in the past day, or one of their personal belongings, they can pursue that prey with a check of 11 or better on d20. To pick up a random scent from nothing, a check of 16 or better on d20 will allow the Pokemon to follow that scent. To pick up a specific scent from nothing, a check of 20 on d20 will allow the Pokemon to follow that scent. A Pokemon may only make these checks once per hour. If a Pokemon learns the Move Odor Sleuth and does not have the Tracker Capability, they gain Tracker.

Bio
Tony and Turbo don't like to talk about it. Fortunately, it was recorded by a pair of researchers, so they don't have to.
To give the short of it, Tony was minding his own business in the long grass near a route. Which one is currently unimportant and fuzzy, due to events on it. For as he walked with Flare in tow, a skarmory swept down, grabbed Tony in his talons, and took off before Flare could torch it. Screaming bloody murder at the top of his lungs about it trying to eat him, Tony does the reasonable thing, and grabs onto Turbo's neck for dear life, throttling it. When Turbo tried to peck him into submission, Tony began punching Turbo in the face, causing Turbo pain and making him begin to forget he's flying as rage takes over. As the two fight, they plummet in an erratic fashion. Eventually, they noticed the treeline they were now approaching sideways, and screamed together as they pierced it, clinging to one another out of desperation. Six trees later, they finally stopped on a branch, both beaten and bloody. Then the. Skarmory happened to fall out of the tree, landing on a pokeball that was dropped. Shortly after being caught, Tony followed suit.
The researchers then proceeded to enter it in Hoenn's Funniest Captures and got second place in the season finale. They used the winnings to help supplement their grant money.
Turbo is occasionally disgruntled. However, after several talks, he has agreed to let Tony ride him.

Bio
Cudgel was found on the side of a river, unable to get back to water. Trying to help, Tony put him back in, only to see it happen again and again. Figuring the current was too strong, Tony picked the magikarp up, and decided to take him along as he tried to get through the Rock Tunnel as he tried to think of a good name.
After having to run from a massive swarm of zubat and barely escaping the tunnel, Tony remembered he was carrying a magikarp. A poor, poor magikarp he had been wildly swinging about. The name wrote itself.
Shortly after, he evolved. Yes, he was used to bludgeon so many zubats he went from one to 20 virtually overnight. Still has the occasional tic under his right eye though.

Amorphous-A Pokemon with Phasing may Shift through Hindering Terrain without their Speed Capabilities being affected. They can turn intangible and move through solid walls or other Pokemon. A Pokemon can remain intangible with Phasing for up to 30 seconds. If a Pokemon remains intangible, they may not perform Moves during their turn
Invisibility-Psionic
Pokemon who have the Invisibility Capability can turn invisible. Pokemon may not perform Moves while invisible. While invisible, you must roll +4 during Accuracy Checks to hit the Pokemon. When a Pokemon turns invisible they can only remain invisible for 1d4 minutes. After becoming visible, they cannot turn invisible again for 1d6 minutes.
Stealth-A Pokemon with the Stealth Capability are excellent at approaching the enemy for an up close assault. While Shifting, unless they purposely want to, Stealth Pokemon do not make any noise. Unless a Pokemon with Stealth has used a Ranged Move during the current round or the round previous, Ranged Moves may not target them if the line of sight drawn goes through Rough Terrain or if the Pokemon is on Rough Terrain.

Everyone appreciates help with their job, even the Lord of Death. Noticing spirits that had left its realm returning, Giratina sought the reason, and found Tony. a quick note on pokemon languages;
most pokemon families have there one language that any pokemon of equal or higher intelligence can fully understand (and that those of lower intelligence an get the gist of). there are however a few exceptions to this rule for instance, all ghost type pokemon can speak the "Ghost Tongue" which can be understood by any pokemon or human it is directed at(every one else hears it as a harsh whisper or hissing noise), and pokemon with telepathy, who can speak mind to mind with anyone thing meet.
I wonder if I can take a made-up Earth Shaker or Type Ace feat named "Rock Tongue" that let's me speak to Rock types and teach them the Rock Tongue. "I hear a rumbling through the stone...a whisper of things that have been...and things that will come..."
Maybe I can teach you some poke speak. Or we could get you a golett to act as a translator if all else fails, since I think it's ghost/rock, and if it's not, you can make it ghost/rock anyway.
By the way, can I use my Pokedex on other people's Pokemon? Is it considered rude? I guessed that the "Scyther" was a Garchomp, and wheel-shaped could be Bronzor, but I'm drawing a blank on the cat-sized Charizard and the giant Surskit thing. Also, if it is a Garchomp, there's no way I'm fighting that thing. It has to be, like, at least level 50. Legitimately. But, eff it, I'll do it anyway. Maybe I'm overestimating her due to my fear of midgets. If I beat her, will footage of the battle suffice for a full page of Pokedex information?
Last edited by PresentPresence : 11-27-2011 at 02:44 AM.
Good question on the pokedex, especially with a bunch of trainers around.
I'm also at a bit of a loss at the moment of what to do, heh. :P So any nudge for either more conversation or something else is appreciated!
Edit: Oh, one more thing!
Machoke is my favorite pokemon by quite a bit, but machamp (While he's alright), is not. ^_^ Please please don't have Truse evolve!
Normally in the games I just ride the B button, as I actually use machoke competitively, but I'm not sure how that is in PTA. If need be, I'll lock an everstone on him or something, but can he just not evolve in case this comes up? :P

I am counting on you using the pokedex, DNA scan is minimum for pokedex info and is almost zero effort(just a trainer action then wait two turns for it to go through) , the charizard and surskit are size variations(they where in the anime quite a bit but not in any other media, and I think a tiny charizard is just awesome), the Scyther is a unique scyther and you are right to fear him(you will not be fighting him in this battle, the "he is lazy" was gym jargon for out of your class.).

I will see what I can do about making things happen.
Also..
Sure, I consider the old trade evolvers to be more unnatural(they evolve more due to human pressure then to normal growth) then the other ways anyway, so without pressure from you to "BE STRONGER!", I do not think he would evolve.[also if this thing comes up with other pokemon, the pokedex has a "Stop evolution button", which obviously only works if you are in range]
ps. I have the same thoughts about Gangar(cool idea, execution needs work.)

Might want to pick up Underdog at level 25. Good stuff for keeping your Machoke as good as a Machamp. Also the Eviolite item might be a better hold item than the Everstone.

another thing, some pokemon will have little of benefit to say, and mini pokemon are a little rough around the edges
I've done a brief analysis of 'who gets what from breeding amongst our current party' ^_^
Some of these may not be directly applicable right now (For example, Tony's Cubone[Lil' Helper] is expressly too young to breed yet), or they may require an intermediary step with Gel the ditto, but I figured I'd just put everything here for convienience.
Here's also hoping that Reivax might allow a minor amount of plot-transferrence, where technically a pokemon is not the same as the original due to breeding, but fluff-wise it's the same pokemon. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure a healthy array of pokemon won't end up being swapped out. I know I sure wouldn't. :P
(The fluff of Douglas bringing out the best in an existant pokemon is also pretty reasonable, and drop in levels can be explained)
Aaaaaaaaanyway! Here's the list. Of course, regardless of the below, you still get a +6 to one stat, a +5 to a second, six egg moves, a chance at a nature you'd like, and if the child is on the field the parent can give half of its XP to the child. It results in 1d6+1 eggs, which is good for randomizers (Such as on nature).
Eshkigal: Tony has two very interesting lists in Sableye(Reaper) and Cubone(Lil' Helper), although 'sunny day houndour' also sounds generally nice.
Skarmory: [None]
Sableye: [Machoke] Leer, Foresight, Rain Dance, Attract, Swagger
Houndour: [Numel] Sunny Day
Gyrados: No Egg Moves
Cubone: [Larvitar] Sandstorm, Screech, Rock Slide, Chip Away
Major: Sorry dood, due to mixes of egg groups there isn't too much for poor Kara just yet. ;_; There's still the other bonii, though - such as 'six egg moves'.
Pichu: [Togepi] None (Technically charm but already learns it at level 1)
Togepi: [Pichu] None (Technically charm but already learns it at level 1)
Staryu: Star has no egg moves nor gender
Dratini: [Tirtouga] None, [Gyrados] None
PresentPresence: Peter has a couple smaller options, but they seem fairly potent. Especially for Rhyhorn :P
Larvitar: [Rhyhorn] Stomp
Rhyhorn: [Larvitar] Sandstorm, Rock Slide
[Houndour] None, [Pichu] None
[Numel] Magnitude, Sunny Day, Sandstorm, Bulldoze
Bonsly: [Roggenrola] Harden, Headbutt
Roggenrola: [Bonsly] Curse
Tirtouga: [Dratini] Slam
Then Douglas has a small amount on numel:
Machoke: [Sableye] None (Technically Leer)
Numel: [Houndour] Ember, Howl
[Rhyhorn]Stomp

I'd definitely take a tirtouga or larvitar, and supply aerial mounts for all if ditto can go with anything in the game. Alternately, I would give everyone a houndour puppy as long as we stuck together, with any left going to his family, most likely. Actually, anyone except Lil' Helper is fair game, really.
Would it be too much to have Turbo be an unusually large skarmory, then?
