Well darn, and Teleport was looking so nice back then. But seriously, now I'm kinda scared of what could happen. So if I understand that right, the ship is in danger of sinking from two things, and it's not pirates and a ghost ship, and since we nearly missed Darkrai, I'm guessing it's either not a legendary or you have a non-shared table for what legendary/act of Arceus appears.

If it helps, they're tied together. Solve one, and the other's solved too! The rest is just what plot comes to mind involving the table options. Example: if it were 1 and 4, you would meet Mew and have to deal with pranks. 2 and 1, and you'd have your first encounter with the Cult.
Oh, and ghost ship was kind of misleading, I guess. That means the ship gets possessed normally, with 3 and 4 together meaning darkrai would've come by to meet you all.
Don't worry, the rayquaza isn't angry at any of you. You just happen to be in the way.
If you mean to fight with, the rayquaza is currently holding the ship up out of the water, gaining altitude, and notably not crushing it like a tin can yet. However, they can help you in a more meaningful way than angering an already murderous legendary soon enough.
Oh, must have misread. I thought it did a fly-by gutting the ship, leaving us in a sinking. Could they be used to help the ship repair itself? Or at least keep the ship from further damage?
Bit confused due to all the chaos of today. So I'll go question by question.
1) Does talker make empath useless? :P
2) For fluff reasons can I fluff my pokedex as my mind? It seems weird for Kara to carry a pokedex and scan things when she can communicate and learn things by mind reading. But at the same time you get levels for scanning...
3) Wait...when did Darkrai show up? Thought it was Rayquazza?
Summery of level up: Added 1 to INT, HP increases by 4, added Shadow Ball (because I need an attack besides throwing a knife/bit of fire that does the same damage as a knife)
I assumed that he owned at least one other ghost in the past allows him to take Shadow Ball. If not, I'll swap it out for adding another Workout.
Also, I'm going to be gone later today. Sorry that this had to happen as soon as drama begins. I'll try to get one more post in, but no promises.

Rayquaza did. However, it was very close between the two, as darkrai sounded like an interesting if dark choice. Talker is rarer than ghost types are, so it doesn't make empath useless. Really, it's more of a nod to Meowth from the cartoon. As for the mental pokedex, there's a class no one here took that does that, so I'm not sure. Give me a bit on that one.
On why a legendary has an egg, it's working on the Mothra model: if the previous legendary dies, a new one is born, and a new egg forms from the previous generation's remains. It's assumed there is only one at any given time, but no one is exactly sure if that's true or not.
If you weren't too stringy to eat, there are a few (small minority) out in the wild that would give it a shot.
Save the egg, and rayquaza will like you guys more. Then you get rewards that I will only explain if you guys succeed. Fail, and you guys live, barely, but everyone else around you and their pokemon die.

Well obviously we won't get legendaries yet. I meant some campaigns eventually get legendaries, others don't. What class/feat would I need for a legendary as an empath?
I was thinking of fourth class being the Primvalist since I'm considering having lots of dragons.
