Ongoing Games (In-Character)Play-by-post games are going on in this forum as we speak (well, read). All threads on this board are actual games, so please, only post on a thread if you are a player of that game.
The heads inhale the smog and begin coughing. Zweilous loses 7 HP, and is down to 15 our of 71 HP! Status: Hostile! Both heads work in tandem and send out a pulse of energy! (Dragon Pulse)
(Did you guys cluster together?) (1d20)[18]-Zach (1d20)[14]-Bullet (1d20)[14]-Pyroclast (3d10+27)[41]
It hops up over the low sweep, flapping its wings and hovering above it until landing again.
"Li!"
It tosses the ball up and rummages around in the bag, before tossing something towards Truse. (1d20)[18] (1d4)[4]
if 1, (1d10+10)[13]
if 2, (2d10+10)[26]
if 3, (3d10+10)[26]
if 4, Truse heals 65 HP.
Turns out it was a water balloon full of hyper potion. The delibird then catches the pokeball.
The drifloon sticks its head up through the floor.
Would there be lots of traveling?
Caspar translates for Tesla. "Oh my yes. We are going to be going all over the world. I like to make things and am traveling for inspiration. Would you like to join us?"
"A game first, to see what you're like! It's no fun if you can't enjoy the trip, after all."
It drifts around Melchior and Caspar, before shaking its body.
"These two are a little strong for this...do you have someone weaker?"
(This drifloon is level 12)
Yeah, we did stay near the door in my mind. That was kind of stupid.
(1d20)[18]-Zach => HP: 51
(1d20)[14]-Bullet 41-16=25/2=12.5=>13 (THANK ARCEUS FOR RESISTANCES!) HP: 8
(1d20)[14]-Pyroclast 41-19=22 HP: 34
(3d10+27)[41]
In the future, could you add what the AC is supposed to reach without bonuses? I'm assuming 5 here, based on how powerful and inaccurate it was in the games. Not that it made a difference this time.
The whole team is engulfed in the attack. Clustering by the door was a bad idea! Bullet, though already tired, seems to have fared better than the rest of the team, however, but looks like he can't take much more punishment. Zachariah and Pyroclast have fared less well. "ARCEUS JUDGE IT!!! That hurt!" Zachariah reaches for a Great Ball and flings it at the weakened dragon Pokémon.
(I'll try to keep that in mind)
Ding...din-*bwomph!*
Oh, so close! Would you like to have Pyroclast or Bullet attack again?
Meanwhile, Zweilous uses Focus Energy! It's getting pumped up!
"A show of strength, eh? That's just how Valiant likes it! Come on out! Let's test our mettle."
Peter reassures Valiant before the battle begins. "I'll be more careful this time, but this is a tough opponent. We're going to have to pull out all the stops."
Valiant's Speed is 2.
"Heh, hold on Truse - don't buy into him. Just whack it with a karate chop - can't just sit and let it... actually, that didn't look like it hurt much, actually. Either way, your swing, buddy."
And a second karate chop - this one with much more force.
Spoiler
Karate chop swing: (1d20)[12]
Karate chop damage: (2d10)[13]

Beginnings usually happen over trifles... even if it's a coincidence...
Just like Tesla before you, you find that the aerodactyl is fast. It flies down upon Valiant in seconds, with a quick slam from a wing aimed at him in passing. (1d20)[19] (1d10+21)[31]+4 (STAB)
(...Wow. Um...well, thankfully Larvitars are resistant to this. 17 damage)
The delibird is smacked this time and into a tumble into a wall, and Vic's pokeball falls out of a hand and towards you, due to slight incline. It flips back up onto its feet, and stows the card.
(Delibird is at 18 of 50 HP!)
"A game first, to see what you're like! It's no fun if you can't enjoy the trip, after all."
It drifts around Melchior and Caspar, before shaking its body.
"These two are a little strong for this...do you have someone weaker?"
(This drifloon is level 12)
"Hmm, I do have some young ones who might fit the bill. Come on out Agni!" And with a flash of light a large, oddly colored Charmander appeared. "Hello there Agni. I know we haven't had a lot of time to get to know each other yet, but this Drifloon wants a match to see if we will be a fun group to travel with. And I think your the perfect candidate for the job. What do you say?"
The Charmander looked at Tesla and saw his trainer's great hopes for him. He wanted to prove himself worthy of those hopes. "Char char mander! (Heck yeah!)" He steps forward, ready for the challenge.
[ That's a good roll. Thank goodness it wasn't a great roll. Damage is actually 12 after applying Defense (assuming it consulted Attack). (35-10)/2]
Valiant winces at the blow, but does not seem too harmed. "Be careful out there Valiant. You know your own limits; don't be afraid to tell me when you're done. Let's see how well it can withstand a Rock Slide!"

"That'll do, Pyroclast." He walks cautiously towards the dragon, talking in a very calm tone of voice, hoping that the dragon understands. "Calm down there. Flailing around is only going to make you hurt yourself. If you get in the ball, you'll feel better." He takes out another ball, and just presses it against the dragon's body, activating the ball.
Spoiler
Here's to better luck.
Same as before, plus 5 for confusion (35) (1d100)[74]

The Zweilous bursts out. (1d20)[9]
If it can move, it'll focus energy. Since it can't, it bonks its head on a table on the way out, bringing it down to 1 hp.
The aerodactyl...ow. The aerodactyl, after taking 96 points of damage, is unconscious, but not quite dying (has 59 HP normally, you used a super effective). You don't know your own strength! Pokemon is very easy to catch now!
"Calm down, dang it. You're just going to keep hurting yourself if you don't!" He tries to pet the Zweilous before using his last ball. "Come on, don't fail me now."
Spoiler
Down to one HP, right? Must reach a 45 now. Come on, it's nearly a 50-50 chance!

The drifloon shrinks away as the fire hits it. Your counter says it's down to 24 HP!
Trying to avoid another hit like that, it shrinks down! (Minimize)
Spoiler
Minimize - Normal
Center - None
No Damage - Self
Effect: No Target
Foes need an additional +4 during Accuracy Check to hit Minimize’s user and the user’s size is Small for the remainder of the encounter.
(Even if it's not normally, I'm giving it to you, Esprit. For all those times you end up on your last ball and it fails you in the game! Also, because I'm tired and want this to end faster.)
Wobble one...wobble two...click!
Congratulations, you caught a strong (x2) Zweilous! Would you like to give your pokemon a nickname?
The drifloon sends its arms out, nimbly dodging the fire this time, and tries to wrap its arms around Agni's legs. (Constrict) (1d20)[5] vs 2+evasion (1d6+5)[6]
(It seems like I forgot to alter damage for special defense last time, but I'll keep damage as is.)
"Valiant, that was an incredible blow! You did well. I think...I think you might have even knocked it out." Peter and Valiant walk gingerly up to the fallen Pokemon, trying not to incur its injured wrath. Peter pulls out an Ultra Ball, ready to catch the Aerodactyl. He looks at the ball for a moment, and then turns to Valiant. "It would be a shame to waste such an opportunity for an easy capture here, but do you think it would be right? Your attack was certainly proof enough of our strength, but...I still think it should have a chance to decide." Peter replaces the Pokeball in his bag with a Super Potion, and sprays the solution over the Pokemon's wounds. He and Valiant step back to see how it responds to the medicine.
And rearing back, Douglas spun a pokeball - exceptionally poorly due to his natural dexterity, but a pokeball nonetheless.
Capture Roll: [roll0]
(A roll is 1d100, right?)
Yes. Now, friendly (+20), half health (+5), base 5, +20 for level...
Wobble one...wobble two...Ding! Click. Congratulations! You caught a delibird! Would you like to give your pokemon a nickname? And get your room key back?
The aerodactyl is still unconscious. You hit it really hard. Then Tony comes up the stairs, shaking his head.
"Every single capture-Hey, want some help? I know some basic medicine."
He pulls out some small items, and with Pete's help gets the aerodactyl back up. Wow. You have raised that one well.
The aerodactyl regards Valiant, a pokemon a few times smaller than itself. Still growing, but to be so strong already...
Agni gets wrapped up for a moment and suffers some minor wounds. His legs seem to take the brunt of the damage, so his movements have slowed slightly. "Agni ember one more time!"
"Char char char, char mander! (That hurt, now take this!)" He releases another wave of fire, hoping it connects this time.
It just misses the miniaturized pokemon. It swings its arms again to grab at Agni. (constrict again)
Sorry, but I'm trying not to! (1d20)[15] (1d6+5)[11]
"Agni that's enough, back off. You did well for your first battle, but luck wasn't on your side today. Come and watch the rest of the match over here."
"Char char char! (I almost had it!)"
"I know you may be upset, but the better part of valor is discretion. I'd rather you not get permanently injured in your first fight. Relic, it's your up." Relic appeared. "Relic you use Confusion." Agni returns to his trainers side, still a bit moody.
"Yes," Relic said in a voice that sounded like a combination of twisting metal and wind chimes. It released a burst of mental energy at the balloon Pokemon.
The ball wobbles for an unusually long time. "Crap, that's my last one. Great, now-" DING! The ball glows blue momentarily before returning to its normal color. "Or I guess we caught it. Hm, now what to call you... Oh, Era, Ambrule, you guys can come in now!" There's a moment of silence, followed by a Ralts head poking through the wall. "Ambrule, quit showing off to her."
"NEVER!" She laughs, then stops as she remembers how much Era hated her non-intelligeable voice.
"Well shouldn't we let out our new teamate and name him?"
"Good point. Ambrule, Era, back up a bit." He lets the dragon out of the ball. It flails about for a second, before calming.
"He's not too bright looking."
"What? That is clearly a girl! And of course she's not bright; she's a dark type!"
"Ag mar a ma gmagmarm mar. (That joke was bad and you should feel bad.)"
"You laughed on the inside."
"Ma marm magma. Ma mar. (Fire is inside me. Not laughter.)"
"ZWEIGH! (ZWEIGH!)"
"Here, sorry about that in the battle." He pulls the knife out of the dragon's chest, and starts making a makeshift bandage out of the remains of the couch.
Spoiler
Remedial First Aide (even if for only RP purposes) (1d20+5)[17]
As the team walks to the center, everyone tries to communicate with the dragon. No one gets anywhere. Everyone who can understand Pokémon is only able to get exactly what it sounds like to the untrained ear. "I have come a conclusion. The Zweilous is just plain stupid. Incapable of any higher thought. It barely seemed to understand your cleaning it's knife wound."
"Well he- she- dang, we need to ask what it is at the center. I left my 'dex in my room, or I'd check. Anyways, it's going to be a good member of the team, brilliant or mentally disabled, and none of you better treat it differently." Zachariah finally arrives at the on-ship center. "Hey, I caught a Zweilous but it got badly beaten up in the fight. Could you help it out? I did what I could, but it's still not doing well."

The drifloon gets shaken by the psychic assault, but manages to keep its head. Your scanner says the drifloon is down to 19 HP!
"You look sturdy! I'm gonna breathe out now."
It inflates quite a bit, before letting out a surprisingly strong blast of wind at Relic.
[1d20]-vs sp. def; rolled a 12 in OOC. (2d6+17)[21]
*facepalm*
