So, these mysterious gears show up out of nowhere and are basically responsible for bringing life into the desert.
We're never going to understand these things, are we?

I bet they all fit together and form the most edible giant robot ever written.

Little criticism, since I have just been ranting about speech bubbles in another thread: if we didn't know the stutter belongs to Nomen, we'd think that first bubble is from the rancher.
Spoiler
Lazy edit to make it less confusing:
It's not really good either because the panel now looks imbalanced, with too much void on the left and two bubbles on the right.

It's called context clues dear. It's not all about the bubbles and where they point too. You gotta look at the scene, and who is doing what. It is very clear that Nomen is the one talking.
They all have their mouth agape, so they could all be babbling. And you shouldn't need to feel patronizingly defensive on Elagune's behalf. I'm not attacking him or insulting his work.

But the unique appearance means that any one of them could secretly be a major character making his debut! Conservation of Ninjutsu is useless here!

No that only means that he'll be ineffective until he's the last one standing, when he can unleash his "real ultimate power" when no one can see and ruin his plans.

Looks like only four of the people in the crowd are much of a treat. Unless of course, if more people are named on the next page.

Nomen introduced them, and they're the first ones named. Either they walk off now, or they're just gonna serve as mooks for the other sophers who get to introduce themselves.
Edit: Oh wait, they all had close ups in the last page. They're playing for keeps.
