It looks like the fights finished, but I don't see the looming scarecrow man participating. He could still be quite the threat.

He's using cards like a kid on a tight allowance eats candy!
And he's used so many different elements this one fight... even using one to get cards to a position to use another.
But still no multi-element spell... Will still have to wait and see...

Now I am wondering what would happen if Nomen ate one and activated it. :3
An air one would probably turn Nomen into one of the balloon animals, though, so doing that might be overpowered.
Maybe multi-element spells can't be done? Or maybe only done if they find a special card-making thing!
This has been your local Kobold's hypotheses. We do not guarantee logic or sanity in the above post.
I'm not seeing him though, none of the silhouettes have the proper profile. Could be that I'm just not seeing it, but looking back at the beginning of the chapter I don't think you see him in the splash panel on page 3.

Spaghetti Western chess enthusiast was not my first guess for scarecrow guy...
I wonder if his name will have something to do with kings.

Why not Bishop? Or Knight? Pawn? Rook? Queen? Serpent, if two other people agree.
I see bad ass-ery in the near future.
If you get the victim to the Old Lady on time, she'll suck out the poison, and become the... I forget. Been too long since I saw the episode. Just don't forget how long it is before you can use the teleporter, or who has the jetpack.

Wow. Props to whoever first guessed that Scarecrow was the real threat.

It says something about him that his allies are more scared ofhim then the guy kicking their ass. I'm not sure what it says exactly, but I doubt it's very pleasant.

There is probably a very low survival rate of anyone who disobeys him

And from the looks of it, a very low survival rate of those who obeys order.
Anyways I can see a quick one-hit minion, into to a boss battle, I hope there's a very pun flat battle coming up.

I wonder what Nomen's speciality is if he has one, since he has been pretty diverse with his thauma casting, with the large range of different elements of thauma cards he used. After all the very beginning did have an explanation by a "master pyrosopher" and this page's top panel has the name and speciality of 4 of the enemy sophers so speciality seems a common occurrence. Is he so skilled that he uses all equally well, was he simply taught to use different ones as the situation demanded and so has no speciality, or does he has a speciality, possibly of an element we haven't even seen him use yet?
I also wonder what thauma card element types he might be weak in, though that can't be answered yet...
Sorry I am rambling aren't I?

I think I know his mastery: None.
He's the Jack of All Thauma, which while gives him lots of tools to work with, my guess is if he were to try to compete against a master of whatever-sophy, strictly by his opponent's element, he would lose.

Now, why would he go do a thing like that?

I'm kind of expecting scarecrow to be a death element sopher at this point. (What would you call that? Necrosopher? Mortisopher?)
Really scary dude?
