The rebuked zombies are cowering. You're not missing anything there.
I had thought not to explain why Command Undead was broken, but I refer you to this line from the spell:
...and to the radius of Thoden's aura.
...gorram it. That's going to be a problem. Well, I suppose you're not going to have to worry about me building up a mighty army of undead, Toli. Also, damn you for using high-HD zombies. I wanted a free swarm of minions.
Just to check, attacking cowering zombies won't mess anything up, right? They still won't be able to take actions and will still have a -2 to AC, yes?

Just an FYI, if needed ...or asked, Thoven is quite capable of turning off the zombie-cooker.
What does it do, exactly? I don't want to make you turn off a class feature, but if it would be more useful to have a zombieslave then I'd rather build up some mooks with Commands. I can cast 6-7 more Command Undead's today, and if we had a pile of undead it would be really awesome.

Much fun. My reading was that the short description of rebuking is meant only to replace the text about the undead fleeing if possible in the turning description, and that the rest of the description of turning rules applies to rebuking as well. But I'd be open to hearing why you think other interpretations are more valid.
It would be...interesting to see how any surviving occupants of the town would react if Pete the Barber and Janet the baker were to show up dripping fluids and following Kaylee around in a mindless fashion.

The fact that Turning Undead says that they cower and that Rebuking Undead only mentions cowering always seemed pretty straightforward to me.

Yes, turning mentions running if they can, and cowering if they can't, while the rebuke listing specifies only cowering. Meaning that they don't run. Doesn't mean that the other stuff isn't also relevant.
...oh, what the heck. I'll reserve the right to reverse this decision if it turns out to wreck the game, but for now, there's nothing you can do to Awed undead to break the effect.

I promise to show restraint with my Rebuke-ing powers. I'm intending on showing restraint anyway; being a Dread Necromancer in this setting is a very powerful class choice, and I recognize that. My game-breaking undead-swarm abilities should be neatly counteracted by Thoven and RP.

It is a free action to turn on/off. It is an aura that does 1d4 fire damage to all evil/undead (can't remember right now) within 20 feet.
Apparently, it also counts as an attack. So, Toli, would it disrupt enemy spellcasters without me needing to do anything except be there?

Does Alistair know anything more about the carcass eaters from his roll? Also, do I know anything more about the zombies from my prior Know: Religion roll...especially anything about their paralysis attack? The main reason I wanted to pump knowledges is for the info they provide on monsters' special attacks.
Will Save - (1d20+4)[23]
Does the paralysis effect rely on making an attack or touch attack?

The paralysis attack seemed to be a targeted effect rather than an attack roll. Looking more closely, Alistair sees that that particular undead creature moves more smoothly and with greater coordination than the others. It may in fact be a Deathlock, a relatively minor undead as undead go, formed when a spellcaster dies in a state of abject rage. They usually exhibit some form of magical ability in their unlife to follow.
The carcass eaters are remarkably strong and hardy for their size, but are still no match for you and your colleagues.

I do feel like kind of an ass, blocking you guys off with the energy wall. It's the only offensive power I have, though, I realized. Plinking away with my crossbow against undead would just be a waste, and none of my other powers seem necessary or worth it in this situation. Let me know IC or OOC if I should let it dissipate.
You got what you got, I say don't worry about it. Not all parties fit together perfectly and that's a lot of the fun. Also makes it a lot more realistic. Right now Korack's spell list is horrid for working with our group and his offensive power is fairly laughable. I also feel like with everyone else throwing out fire and commands/rebukes he doesn't need to do much at this point since it's just some zombies and a deathlock (well that we can see).
As for blocking, eh just means Korack and the others can't wade into the zombies quite yet, perhaps they'll continue to come to us .
Whowhatwhere? I am, and so is Kaylee. She's eager to summon up a big nasty undead thing, which she'll use to beat the crap out of some much smaller undead things.

Hay look at that, I didn't roll 1 on the duration for Entangling Exhalation!
Also, I think I've taken more damage than everyone else in the team combined, and I'm still going. Go me!
