Tectonic is quite a caring young man, so much that sometimes I wonder if he has the virtues that I myself lack. As an exemplar of a friend and the knight penitent, Tectonic, I salute you.

Grue Bait has mickle talent; he has grace.
He has the spark the gobo glow ignites
That shines a living masque out through his face
And lightens his quick limbs when he recites.
Grue Bait is fair to see; he is genteel.
No stars stared down to frown upon his birth,
But shone a smooth unalloyed silver seal
To guarantee his purity of worth.
Grue Bait is amply blessed, but never rests
Upon his milk-toothed laurels like a twit.
He stokes his latent flames with ardent tests
To purify the brightness they emit.
Such perfect fires cleanse the seer's gaze
(But grasping fingers scorch against its blaze!).

I am tempted to make reference to On Looking into the Eyes of a Demon Lover. I think, however, that particular poem doesn't quite reveal your character. You have a mollifying quality about you, and you're quite munificent with sweet words and gestures. Kindnesses often seem to be made for self-serving purposes, but I don't get that sense from you. If your eyes burn, I suspect the flames are too gentle to cripple or char.
@v I think that would be the first time someone has written me a Petrarchan sonnet. *offers an appreciative hug*

Nix Nihila protects the cobweb bond
Between her muse and her, fast to her heart:
A fragile cord that quickly comes apart
When drudges, dolours, drooping dreams despond
And colours drain where careless mouths have yawned.
She weaves the little ties with careful art
(And needs no analgesic when they smart)
To heed those music whispers close and fond.
Those facile threads can snap with but a tug,
But muses never pull. One must let go
And choose to cast that partner to the dark.
Nix Nihila would never deign to shrug
And lose her muse indulging in her woe!
Her bruises tie a bow around her spark!

Indurain is the coolest. The most cool. The lord and baron of all that is cool. His coolness is his realm, and he rules over it with an iron fist of awesome.
