That'd be great! I'm going on Thursday. I'm also trying to arrange a go-back-to-Guy's-and-play-lots-of-games thing that afternoon/evening. Guy's willing to drive to Bradford and back once, to pick people up or drop them off or to hang out in Bradford instead.

Yeah, the only thing I'd get is that trial day. I dunno, if they are breaking the law I ought to call them on it for the sake of future peoples, but... I dunno, it's not worth the distraction and work, I think
It's not hard for them to justify it, and at least they aren't making you take an unnecessary trip. After all, if you both tried out, he'd have relevant experience as well as already being trained in their specific procedures. It would be very easy for them to justify choosing him over you
As for Saturday Leeds (it is Leeds I'd be travelling to, right?), outlook is... possible. I'll try to get a handle on things this week, see how my travel options look.

We played Talisman, and Guy screwed me over a couple of times - most significantly taking away my talisman when I was close to the end.
As in, one step away from winning. We then spent the new few rounds of me trying to run my new character to middle, getting a talismin, and dying just before I could roll to reach the door.

And another day, Hazyshade turned up in Glasgow as well, and I hung out with him too. I'm not sure what we did. Seemed to just wander from one meal or beverage to the next... Hazyshade, what'd we actually do? Aside from eat a crock of mussels... And a mighty fine crock it was, too.
We.... almost bought you some books in Waterstones, almost bought you some awesome cheap shoes in TK Maxx, and almost had my backpack blown up by the security people. And saw Chronicles. Having failed to coax Dvil out of hiding to see The Woman In White with us. And talked about stuff. It was a good day :)
Yeah, well, next time I've got a cunning plan. We gang up on guy and cast all our spells on him at once.

So, just to finalise: Tomorrow (Saturday) at around 1ish, Dr Bath, GrlumpTheElder, Trilby and Lime are gonna come to Guy's place in Bramley. If you turn up at Bramley Station (I think most of the buses stop near there, too), one of us will go get you.
