And Jamie narrows her eyes. She can tell what the critters are saying, and she is Not Amused.
You can tell that, were she holding a staff, she'd be tapping it on the ground in properly annoyed style.

Sallianne eyes the raven right back. She's been watching the birds, as birds seem to think pixies are insects. Well, she has a spear that'll point out the wrongness of such an idea.
Without breaking eyesight with her enemy, she asks Irene. What's she saying? Is she doing anything?
"I... have no idea." Irene tells Sallianne. She doesn't speak druidic. It's not innate for her either.
The rhino stops to look at Jamie and scuff it's feet in the dirt, making noises like 'you little girl think you have any say here?' Potentially getting ready to charge. It's a little funny cause Mister Buttons is still chewing on his horn.
Some of the animals actually stop to watch this. They know the rhino is the biggest bad here. Primarily the monkeys, half the birds and the weasel. The rest are still fighting. She obviously wasn't RAWR! enough.
Raven makes no move.

Pearl screams AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! and tries to pull Jamie out of the way of the charging Rhino. She doesn't know Jamie's plan, but certainly doesn't like how it started.
Sallianne, knowing a distraction when she sees one, charges straight for the soul, spear ready to puncture any who seek to interfere.
Sophie steps in front of Jamie and yells: Stop! in the direction of the rhino. The animal should feel a compulsion in its mind to do preciesly that - stop and refrain from trampling Jamie for a while.

Jamie, meanwhile, takes the walking stick she is carrying, and slams the end of it into the ground!
She's clearly determined not to budge - but Pearl manages to pull her aside!
...even as Kudzu erupts from the ground in an attempt to ensnare and entangle the charging Rhino!
Stopping a charging rhino? Highly not recommended. It tears right through the kudzu.
Now mentally forcing the rhino to stop. Much better. Unfortunately momentum prevents just a straight out stop. But it does slow itself down enough that getting out of the way becomes doable and happens. But it's kind of like a truck once it gets going. Needs room to stop.
The raven takes flight after Sallianne! It recognizes a good opportunity when it sees one. CAW! It's claws are outstreched as it rushes for either the pixie or the soul, whichever it can hope to snatch first.
A few other birds also follow the raven's lead, but Irene keeps them off of Sallianne as she follows.

As Sallianne flies through the air toward the Soul, she listens for the Raven to be close enough. When it is almost on top of her, she twists in mid-air, so that for a second she's flying upside down. She heaves her spear right at the Raven's open mouth, hopefully killing it, then rights herself and races on to get the soul.
I'm not sure being a pwetty pwincess would help Jamie.
But then again, maybe her magical powers are enhanced as Mikani, so I shouldn't say anything.
The rhino turns and snorts, clearly contemplating whether to charge again or not. Mister Buttons leaps off the rhino at this point, and goes to run, having more than enough excitement on that beast's back.
The raven is skewered and killed. Poor bird. Jamie blasts the body out of the way so it doesn't fall on Salliane, meaning she manages to snatch the soul piece. Irene is right behind her, waving off the other birds.

I got it! Sallianne calls out, showing her first bit of emotion. she flies back around and retrieves her spear from the bird, heading back toward the others.
Pearl points at the Rhino, from behind Jamie. Don't you hurt Jamie!
Sophie points her shotgun at the rhino, ready to either shoot or use her Edge again. When Salliane shouts, she responds: Great! Now let's get out of here!

Well, Sallianne is flying as fast as her little wings can carry her to get to Sophie and... Hey! Where'd the little girl go? she stops and looks around for her.
So now is probably the best opportunity for Irene to slip into her soul.
Oh well. Irene slips into her soul and... all of the animals calm down instantly. Granted, they were all on the edge of their seats watching Jamie vs. the Rhino. I still would have bet on the Rhino.
But now that the nymph actually has her animal empathy back and Mikani's calming aura, it shouldn't take very long at all to get them to calm down. Maybe tend wounds and disperse the crowd.

Because it was a snatch and run job, not a snatch and turn around. Irene was following from behind, she'd catch up eventually. No one told her that Irene getting the soul back would calm the animals down.
She frowns at Mikani. Then leans closer to Irene and/or Sophie. Why's she dressed like that?
Pearl follows Mikani after Mister Buttons. Where are you going, Jamie? We should stay with the others.
"I need to make sure Mister Buttons is OK. He's my dad's animal companion," Mikani explains, then frowns as she notes he's skedaddled!
And, shrugging, she turns to lead Pearl back to the others, reacing to give her friend's hand a squeeze.
Maybe Sallianne should ask her directly about her dress.
Who's Mister Buttons? Pearl asks, letting Jamie take her hand, as they head back to the others. She totally accepts Jamie's transformation into the Pretty Princess.
Sallianne just nods understanding to Irene. Gotcha. So, where to next?
