Diplomacy check with Kole:
(1d20+2)[20]

Falxio probably gonna start sucking up to the whole party, so expect a lot of diplomacy rolls...

I don't think PCs have mechanical dispositions to use diplomacy on to modify, which would seem to me to make that use invalid.

Ouch. I wasn't sure zeroes were possible on the forum dice-roller until today.

I'm sorry you feel that way about this campaign, Hellfire. I wish you the best of luck in finding another game you'll enjoy. As it is, having Punto leave for the inn while everyone else goes to the guardhouse is actually the perfect way to allow him to leave the campaign as a PC. It allows me to do a few rather...interesting things with him off-post. I won't make him appear on-post again, however.

Though I don't really have any alternates specifically lined up, there was one person who was interested in taking a place in a different campaign I was planning to DM over the summer. Now, it's very obvious that I won't have enough time to handle DMing two games this summer, much less the school year that both would eventually bleed into. So, I'll PM this guy and let him know we have an open spot waiting for him if he's still interested.

By the way, the purpose of the "any group of six" thing that the prophecy foreshadows is meant to serve two purposes - one, that alternates could come in to take the place of people who quit the campaign, and two, that people can reroll new characters if their original one dies.

I was considering have Aleksand interject, mostly because I feel like he trusts and respects Kole, and might have thought Falxio's suggestion to be sort of disrespectful. I didn't post anything though, since I figured this was their conversation.

A Knowledge (Psionics) roll to see if Aleksand can remember anything about psionics. Hoping a high roll might give me reason to have him figure out that it's what he's doing. Probably should have a high DC too, since his memories are obscured having changed into an elan.

Neat, our new player is here! The game's bit a tad slow, as can be seen by the fact that we mention that Alagaesian is alive, but aside from that it's going well, in my opinion.

The first game I joined on this forum had been playing for 7 months before I arrived.

No one has leveled up even once yet. Despite it being about a year since then. Well, half a year, but still.

That this game is still even alive is commendable. Though, it might take me a bit before I can officially exist within the game. Character sheets are about as fun to play as they are to make.

Thank's for the warm reception.

Considering the nature of these games, I've probably got plenty of time for the Long Version.

I like basing the abilities of my characters on a role capable of fitting well within the party. Personality and such usually comes from there. From what I've seen, the Archery based personality I've got in mind might be a good fit ability wise, though hopefully the cocky persona that will accompany it won't be too off putting. I'm gonna take another look at the Scout, with Ranger as my second choice.

confused Re: The Mysteries of Prophos (OOC)

Welcome!
Considering that my character is the King of Cockiness and General A**holery, your character being cocky should lead to some very interesting dialogue. And some very interesting examples of characters throttling eachother.

I joined this game late as well, and when I did so, people tried to explain what was going on, and I ended up even more confused. Despite there being an awful lot of it, I recommend just reading all the way through. There's a fair bit that was in PMs, but you can work that out from the IC and if there's anything you're mixed up about just say. But I really don't think us trying to explain it will work.
Have fun reading!

In other news, I'm wondering if True Neutral was the right alignment to choose. It's not like his alignment is changed, he's just as I imagined when I planned the character, but I'm not sure if True Neutral is the best one to express it. I assumed that, he's a ruthless and frankly extremely unpleasent businessman, but he isn't evil as such, and is not without his principles (hence his outrage at Curdis). But I'm wondering if Neutral Evil would be better... But then, is that too evil?
What do people all think? Was TN a good alignment to choose, or is NE more suited to Falxio Virimensis?

@INoKnowNames: As this might have been only mentioned in recruitment thread (and perhaps oncein middle of OOC when Zolkabro joined) Alagaesian prefers if you stick to core DnD with your character.

@Zolkabro:
Quote:
"Very well." He said coldly after a while. "You have my sword at your command."

I may be going along with him now. But the first chance I get to slit this simpleton's throat, I shall take, and oh, how I will enjoy it.
Combined with how Falxio reacted to the prophecy about Emperor's death, caring only about the power he can gain, I'd say NE.

Thanks. This should be fun roleplaying. Though I don't think I'll be competing in A**holery... I can't play that very well, as much as I wish I could be evil. I'm greedy at worst.

Oh God, it's a Kudzu Plot!

Nah, I've had this game tagged for a while, lightly readying every now and then for fun. I intend to give it a serious read so I can completely understand it, and am completely undaunted by it's length. I'll be sure to ask questions if I'm confused by something.

... though if it is a Kudzu Plot, be prepared to be drowned under a wave of questions.

Falxio Virimensis is certainly an Evil Name.

Plus, he's a businessman? That means he's closely related to Lawyers. He may as well be a devil.

But Core Only makes me uncomfortable!

Nah, that's cool if she's more comfortable that way. I like playing somewhat strong characters, but I avoid anything game-breaking, and am more than willing to accomidate for others. I'll probably have to go with Ranger then, if she's set on that. I'm assuming by Core you mean the SRD, since there's a Psychic Warrior and a Soul Knife in the party.

Heh. New Experiences abound.

Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear oh dear.

The main disadvantage of doing a character sheet in a big hurry is there is always a chance you will forget something. I thought I hadn't, but I just checked my sheet, and I have no "other possesions". Usually I put in there stuff like rope and bedroll and occasionally 10-foot poles (you know the kinda thing) but I haven't filled that out.

What should I do? Just say that Falxio had nothing on him, or add stuff? I know you shouldn't edit stuff mid-game, but, in this situation, am I allowed?
I suppose, as Falxio is a citizen of Prophos, we can just explain it by saying that everything is in his house, and he carries nothing with him.

It shouldn't be a problem anyway, right? Presumably you've got money left (Kole actually doesn't have any, but that makes sense, given where he's come from) so unless you need something tonight you could just buy it tomorrow, right? I mean we are in a major city.

Huh, didn't think of that. Falxio has heaps left because he didn't have to pay for weapons, only armour, because he can summon weapons at will.

Which in retrospect was a really bad idea means that Falxio is rendered completely and utterly useless in an anti-psionics field. Um...
Alagaesian, you saw nothing! There's no reason to give us anti-psionics fields! And I don't suppose you're going to give us a chance to get a backup weapon any time soon?

Heh. I'm an idiot.

Aleksand's scythe isn't dispelled when it enter an anti-psi field, I don't think, so I suppose he just manifest the power outside of it and then enter. He's supposed to be a tripper, too, so even if he's unarmed, his main tactic is only hampered, rather than eliminated.
