In the case of the fighter, THAT JERK PISSED ME OFF! PUNK PUT A CURSED NECKLACE ON ME THAT WAS -SUPPOSED- TO BE MY PRIZE, AFTER I BEAT HIM IN A FAIR FIGHT! HE KICKED ME IN THE JUNK, AND I -STILL- BEAT HIM! AND HE PUNKED ME! SHOULD HAVE TORN HIS BLOODY HEAD OFF!

Edit: I think I will follow manwhosenameIdon'tknowincharacteryetwhoiscarryingt hemage, rather than staying still and looking for a new target. Hopefully we aren't going to get ambushed again. Do I need to post this, or go back and fix the previous post?

.... How old might that be, if you don't mind me asking? I turned 21 this year, for a base line.

My age in years, rounded down, is equal to the sum of the roots of the equation (1/2)x2-3x-3.5, multiplied by 2, divided by i152, plus 3.

I don't know why, but I was inspired to be mathematically indirect. Perhaps more useful, my age is less than 18.

Depending on how close you are to 18, that doesn't help me mush, since I'm not sure what is or isn't appropriate to say or do...

The math actually does work out, but I'm 15, going to be 16 in a few months. I suppose I had the urge to be indistinct earlier because I had the suspicion that know my age would affect your behavior, which I didn't particularly want because I was fine your behavior as it was.

Edit: Was that actually enough to kill the conversation, or is everyone just busy and I forgot?

I was still trying to figure out the math!

Seriously though, I think it's a busyness thing. What were we waiting on in character? I'm not sure.

IC, if I recall correctly, we're waiting for Alagaesian to post the next update. Looking again, I've noticed that you and Jack haven't posted since Alagaesian's last post yet, so that might be a thing.

hint2: i^152 is just 1 because 152 can be divided by 4

Possibly. I intended to keep my safe pirch, looking around and listening until I was sure nothing else needed an arrow. to the knee, maybe.

I see you saw through my amateur maths-trickery, shayanuser, but assuming that you're formula is machine-interpretable, and that WolframAlpha can be trusted, it doesn't appear to come out to anything sensible...

Man, looking back through the thread looking for one post sure has given me a feeling of fondness for this group, not to mention a bit of sadness, reliving the memories of Iceman, Hellfire, SwordScythe leaving the game.

Anyway, looking up some stats to see if I can get a guess at your age without working my way through math at least a grade above what I've managed to osmose from the the internet, I think it's probably that you're within or very near to the 15-29 age bracket, cross-referencing internet-user stats and the pop-pyramid for Iran, which, of course, I use because I assume you mentioning that you're in Iran means that you're a native, which is basically unfounded, but was the easiest assumption.

Edit: More images, amazing! The next thing you know, there's going to be gifs from one end of the to the other.

In a couple of weeks the equation turns incorrect *wink*

The query is too complex for wolfram and should be broken down.
integral(fourier(i*sin(x))dw) <- put d(omega) instead of dw. Also, for some reason wolfram won't understand if you add the "from -inf to 0" part.
e+ summation(2^n/n!) from 0 to inf <- if you put the +e at the end it won't understand
Quote:

Impressive, that is correct indeed.

I will try to post something IC before this thread transforms into a math thread.

So close to a critical success. Oh well, I agree that while in my interest, the math is rather irrelevant, though I am still unable to put it in correctly, but that's probably me just fumbling with the numbers.

Even more irrelevant, and spurred by my recent rereading of the thread thus far, how's the weather where everybody is?

Edit: Also, it isn't really that impressive, since a vast majority of internet users lie in that age bracket.

This was supposed to be a noob game, once, wasn't it? I suppose it's more that we were moving so quickly before and now we're not so fast, rather than us becoming slow in an absolute sense.

Also, I'm subbed to both threads, so I don't usually check if it doesn't say there's a new post. I'm always checking to see if it does say that, though.

I don't respond all the time, but I do check every single day, usually. I try to post at least once a week in the busy season, and school definitely counts as my busy season.

One of my games I'm in went 60 days without an update. And each of the players are pretty active on the board.

I'm pretty sure Alagaesian's going through similar busy-ness. I believe she did mention mid-terms a bit back, and the assignments only get harder from there.

I try to check every individual thread, including trying to make a new post and checking to see if there might be a hidden update by another player or not. Ninja posts and phantom updates happen more often than not.

In character, aren't I the only sniper you guys are currently aware of? Just out of curiosity.

I finally succeeded my Spot Check and found the Cross Bow Snipers in the posting. I suppose it would be smart to keep a ready arrow out in case someone wants to trade shots.

Though I suppose that doesn't need to be worried about until Alagaesian returns.

How were you guys' Halloween? I went to a small party with friends as Mr. T.

That's pretty cool. I just went to out to dinner with my family, minus my mom and plus my sister's boyfriend. I was already trying the Summer Never Ends challenge, but I decided that my outfit was going to pull double duty and that I was 'a guy in shorts' for halloween. My sister was a flapper, as in the group of ladies in the US in the twenties, and her boyfriend looked like something between Sweeny Todd and the Joker.

That... actually sounds like the stuff of nightmares.

I didn't really do much, never have. Unfortunetely my parents really dissaprove of Halloween, so I never get to do stuff for it. :'(
Which is a shame, cos I'm kind like a 4 year old in the way that I LOVE the chance for a good costume.

Halloween isn't a tradition 'round here. It's more an imported for commercial reasons. Although if there's a reason to party ...

Traditionally we celebrate All Saints (November 1st) and All Souls (November 2nd), when we visit the graves of relatives and go to family. Dressing up is for Carnaval in February.

Woah, looks like I missed a lot. I can only appologise for my silence, like I say, I had to move to start my new job, but what I wasn't expecting was for there to be no internet in my new house... unfortunately it's rented, so I'm at my landlords mercy as to when I actually get it. 5 weeks without internet (I can get news sites etc at work, but that's about it...) is pretty rough. Hopefully I should get connected within the week, but whether that's my own blind optimism or close to the actual figure is anyone's guess.

Right, let's see. The weather here is mostly wet and starting to get colder, but then it's an English Autumn, so that's pretty par for the course. And unfortunately I didn't get to do anything for Halloween this year, but I do like dressing up!

Oh, ad the jobs going very well thanks Names. I trust everyone is keeping well in general?

For the most part, yeah. School could be going better, though that's not out of the ordinary for me, but besides that, yeah, I'm doing pretty good. I've actually recently started a diet, and as far as I can tell, I've already started to lose weight.

Perhaps someone experienced in DnD should take the responsibility of the DM untill we hear from Alagaesian. I'm sure a creative mind can put together the pieces of the part of the story that we know and continue the scenario. The first act of the new DM would probably be thinking of a way to temporarily remove his character from the game. Would anyone be willing to do this?

I think that, although this would be a good idea, in absolutely no circumstances should we do this without Ala's express permission. She (he? it? Suddenly realised I don't know, isn't this embarrassing) has put so much work into this, and we can't just usurp control! Firstly, it's extremely unfair to do this unless Ala says we can, and secondly, just think of all the surprises and places that Ala was going to take the plot! We have know idea what these were, and we could seriously mess things up by taking stuff in the wrong direction.

So, my opinion: If Ala is busy then this is a possible solution, but not under any circumstances if we do not have permission.
If we do get permission, I would be happy to do it. I've coDMed a few times, and I think I would be fine doing this. But it is entirely up to Ala.

For the most part, I agree with Zolkabro (whose name I randomly attempt to pronounce several times whenever I read it. That really is such an interesting name).... maybe potentially take the same group and do another game to pass the time until she gets back, but I don't really agree with dming someone else's game without knowing what's going on and having her permission to do so.

It's sad that she's not back yet, though... I've had some games with breaks as long, but still... I'll give her until Christmas before I stop checking daily for an update.

Default Re: The Mysteries of Prophos (OOC)

I'll probably end up checking this pretty often even past xmas, should it come to that, since I am quite invested in this. I otherwise agree with Names, with my preference being for there to be an interim-game while this one is on hiatus, rather than this one being run by someone else. Anyone have any ideas on what kind of game we might play? I have my own, but I'm unsure as to how everyone will react to it, so I'll wait to share it.

Edit: I also share your compulsion to pronounce Zolkabro's username, Names.

Glad that you guys like my username!
He was the name of maybe my first D&D character, and I stuck with it. I don't use it for anything now, though. I only still have it for this cos I've had this account for so long, since back when I used this. Now I usually go by Terahertz.

BUT ANYWAYS. I think a side game would be a great idea. I say we should continue in the vein of a learning curve, and improve the skills of everybody here.
Two ideas, both similar:
1. Everybody make a character with almost everything about him not like something you've ever played. Give him a lead stat you often dump, give him a race you've never played, a class you've never played, feats you've never taken, weapons you've never used, everything. Let's try and shift us all out of our comfort zones, and play new things.
2. Everybody choose a homebrew class and race from the forums, and we can play those! The DM would have to approve each one to stop overpowered ones, but I always enjoy homebrew-based games, and considering how much material is on the forums, this is a perfect place to do it.

Both of these ideas involve us trying new things, which I would enjoy.
Or, we could just do a generic game. But I like the idea of leaping into the unfamiliar, both newer playes and experienced ones.

What do you guys think? These ideas good? If so, which one? And if not, what else should we do?
