Mal, how long is the dragon's reach and how tall is it?
Touch attack roll for what I'm going to do in my future post, including the -4 melee penalty (though it doesn't make much sense since she is above all the melee combatants and the dragon is a very large target).
In the past, we've played without the DM giving players information on reach. I must say that in general, I also prefer it that way, and I think approaching large creatures, or creatures with long limbs should be done with caution. Of course, that does not work if players know the monster's mechanics. But I'll give you a hint: Obviously, on the map, the dragon takes a 10 ft. space.
Congratulations, excellent fight, and no PC deaths.
Leveling
Spoiler
You all rise in level.
No need to rush level-up, because I will be very busy until the end of June. I'd like to pause the game until then, or at least go slow, because I don't think I will be able to post much, and this is a good milestone to stop at.
Awesomesauce! I only need to leave for a little while and all turns out well.
Let's not entirely freeze this game until the end of June - although I'm very busy in June as well, let's let our characters get to know one another, shall we? We can then do all the stuff we need you for, Mal, when you've got more time again?
'Cause, when you've got more time again, we don't want to spend weeks on RP between the characters.
[happy dance]
I agree with Tashalar. I think we can find something for the characters to do. Like meet a goliath war band. Make trophies out of dragon teeth. Drool over found treasure. And similar.

Post whatever Final Fantasy victory fanfare you wish!
I don't know if there are any nearby cities/towns/settlements but if there are it might be a good idea if we wound up in one of them during our extended downtime/bonding session.
Let's start with the drow (assumes you identify all items)
Spoiler
Soft, black velvet gloves (Dex+4) A necklace of dull gray platinum with a black pearl (Wis+2) A matching headband of dull gray platinum (Concentration+5) A black cloak (Hide+10) Black boots (Jump+10, Tumble+5) A black hood (Shadow Hand Hood, 3/day activate 2 SH stances) Three vials of silvery liquid (Invisibility) Three vials of light green liquid (Exp. Retreat) One vial of yellow liquid (Haste)
I updated Aria's sheet with her level up; this was an important level for utterances, because she got her first Utterance of the Perfected Map, Fog From the Void. Solid Fog/Fog Cloud, here we come.
I also selected Incarnation of Angels; slightly less powerful than other utterances, but the Smites should help our melee-heavy party, as should the DR against mobs.
I've had Rita's changes, except the spells she's to learn, mapped out for some time. I'll have her updated sheet and the changes listed a little later today.
A golden headband (Concentration+5) Heavy brown leather boots with fur (Jumping+5,) A scimitar of black metal (Unholy Scimitar +2) A fine silvery chain shirt (Chain Shirt +2) Heavy battle gauntlets (Ogre Power+2) A fine, dark brown fur cloak (Resistance+3) 2 steel javelins (of Lightning (5d6, Ref14))
Her Beguiler 7 advanced learning is Shadow Conjuration (mwa ha ha).
Good choice. Please note that my interpretation of the rules is that you automatically disbelieve your own illusion and cannot voluntarily fail the save, in accordance with the Rules of the Game: All About Illusions (III) article. I still think Shadow Conjuration is a fine choice, but I think you should know this beforehand.
In fact, everybody who faces proof that an effect is illusionary will always succeed on a save to disbelieve.
Is casting really proof, though? How do you know you didn't screw up the spell and someone else cast it? Even your knowledge of your intention to cast it, like your sensory data of the spell, is just an electrical impulse interpreted by the brain.
Let's start with the drow (assumes you identify all items)
Hmmm...
... there's nothing to boost AC - did you possibly overlook such an item, Mal?
Quote:
A black hood (Shadow Hand Hood, 3/day activate 2 SH stances)
That's the head slot, right? Other than that - what does it do, exactly? And can someone use it that is not a swordsage?
Makul's treasure options/wishes - disregarding potions:
The gloves of dex+4 (but I am aware that others, especially Gabriel, would benefit more of this)
Chain Shirt +2 (unless there's something better available)
Gauntlets of ogre power (more strength is always good - but he already has a lot)
Gloves and bracers don't occupy the same slot, right? Otherwise it'd be down to one item. Makul's head, cloak and boot slots are already occupied (and cloak, arms and head slot are really important items). While the jumping/tumbling boots would be really nice, I guess others would benefit more from them (and Makul would have to give up his steadfast boots)?

Without actually reading into the discussion, I just wanted to point out that a major goal is to make illusions (and all rules, actually) manageable.
A golden headband (Concentration+5) Heavy brown leather boots with fur (Jumping+5,) A scimitar of black metal (Unholy Scimitar +2) A fine silvery chain shirt (Chain Shirt +2) Heavy battle gauntlets (Ogre Power+2) A fine, dark brown fur cloak (Resistance+3) 2 steel javelins (of Lightning (5d6, Ref14))
I'd like these two please. Could someone remind me how we're doing hp level up?
