Do tell me, could you see that she is wearing a jeans jacket before reading this?
The facial expression is off the mark, I was aiming for somewhat more shy and apprehensive. It's the smile. And the backpack is a little too small for comfort.

I mentioned having trouble drawing the same person more than one time earlier right? That didn't stop being a thing.
Spoiler
And I'm really not sure about this design and I might change, well, everything on it. Anything in particular here that strikes you as particularly boneheaded?

Seriously there will be more interesting faces in a couple of days, really.
Spoiler
Little bit of pelvic disfinction in Dash there. Or possibly part of the cartoony style.

Shamefully belated Birthday gift for Raz_Fox, Razette and Raggedy, original designs bySiuiS.
Spoiler
I think I should have given her black eyelaches.
EDIT: and then I did, as well as sprucing it up in a bunch of other places.
Wow. I liked the design when I came up with it... Well, when I made it not look like slop, at least. But to see it transfer to an entirely different medium with such fidelity... Wow.

Spoiler
Cartoony(er) version a little bit rough around the edges.
EDIT: I also made a little correction to Raz's picture, here is the new one.
Ooh, very nice.

it takes me around six iterations before I can draw someone consistently. The first successful design tends to be gorgeous, and everything else tries to recapture that. And I still get stuck on new poses or angles.

EXCUSES
Also SiuiS, it is really cool of you to take the time to comment here despite your injury, and it means a lot to me. Thank you.

I'm very glad to hear that you think well of it.

Thanks! I'm rather proud of Alaska Pinkie here myself.

This is comforting. And I need to stick more to it, apparently. Will do.
Aaand self derailed.
Another one of these proto-sketches for a more ambitious picture. Will probably be revisited in a couple of weeks, but until then there will just be this, being here and all enigmatic.
So I decided to just explore some possibilities with colours and some of the options on GIMP (This is a very fancy way to say "this jitter thing sure looks like fun, don't mind me while I play with it like a two-year-old in the mud") and here this is.
Well not really. This one just didn't work in 120x120, the things that happen when you move towards more human proportions in tiny pictures. So, I'll have to try again, but not before I finish a bunch of other stuff I've promised myself to do.
About the art knowing when you try to rush it. I was originally planning to just spend half an hour on that one, but losing myself in the somewhat more detailed background, in the rocks and the plants, was genuinely enjoyable. Once again I have difficulty putting it into words. I might be talking about the exact same thing as you were. You know, that moment when you just freely allow your time to the picture rather than trying to harshly control and ration it, and after an hour I knew without a doubt that I would return to it and make something more complete of it. Which I will.

Also, good progress, sorry haven't been commenting more, busyyyyy~
Other people have more of life than me, news at eleven.

Valuable insight. Don't get caught in my trap though; I almost never come up with ideas that won't take forever, and with rush through or never start them.

Not me! :D
Said the employed man with the wonderful girlfriend.
Anyway, tried to do one thing, failed, tried to do this, much more meh results than intended. It's better than the last picture of a seascape, but that one didn't exactly put the bar very high.
So you might not have noticed, but yesterday marked my hundredth day of drawing here. The only fitting way to celebrate is of course to steal Thanqol's ideas, especially as this picture would be at least five times easier to draw for me. My attendance record hasn't been spotless of course. Two updates were delayed, and most of them were delivered way past midnight, so there is room for improvement there too.
I want to thank all of you for your advice and help, in this thread and in any others. I like to think that there has been some improvement during this time, and hopefully you'll agree.

So, day 101.
Spoiler
I will say honestly that, of all of my ideas, I'm glad you stole this one.
You made it a hundred days! Congratulations! That's by far the hardest step. You've got momentum now; you've got habit behind you, and most importantly you've proven that you can.
Thank you for taking that dare. Thank you for proving me wrong.

(Jeez, has it really been 100 days already... that's nearly a third of a year. My advantage is shrinking rapidly.)
You flatter me.
Day 102
So I have started work on another outrageously delayed gift picture, this time for Soft Serve. In my defense the tardiness is (mostly) not my fault this time (not that it's hers either by any means).
