Ongoing Games (In-Character)Play-by-post games are going on in this forum as we speak (well, read). All threads on this board are actual games, so please, only post on a thread if you are a player of that game.
The goblin is cut in half, giving off little red birds as it parts halves. You pant a couple times, then pass out. Once you wake up you have one crazy head ache. You realize that whatever the goblin threw at you was some type of hallucinagen.
You find plenty of the mushrooms, and not much else. A little gold (23gp), standard goblin armor that is fairly worthless. They all have small knives that are little more than iron or stone with a handle on them and each one is wearing a scarf so that only its eyes show. After looting the bodies there is a strange smell and the colors of the forest seem more vibrant.
The movement helps clear your head. You make it back to town without incident. The alchemist is very impressed with your haul. I have never seen anybody bring in this many mushrooms in one go. Especially by themselves. The fangs are excellent as well, especially the number of them. He pays you 1500 gold. Honestly I didn't expect anybody to complete this job. The woods are crawling with goblins and some people go mad from the mushrooms and never come back. I know a guy who could use someone of your talent of coming back alive. (Take 400 XP for the goblins).
In the town of Three Rivers there lived a woman fighter named Chamille Bluehem. She was getting older, but still had some good skills and suddenly disappeared a couple of years ago. My employer wants you to find her armor and shield. Any questions?
She had one associate that was well known to us, a dwarf smith who lives in Three Rivers. He has been pretty tight lipped towards us though. Anything else where you start is where you want to, and when. Come back here when you have those items.
a bed is not hard to find for a normal rate, and the hay in it has a normal AC of 3, so it is easily smitten. Your roommate looks at you quizically, but otherwise ignores you. Three Rivers is about a days journey to the north east.
Spontaneously cast some CLW from my remaining first level spells. (3d8+12)[21]. Offer to heal my companion if he requires aid. Sleep and meditate to regain my daily spell allotment, with changes noted below.
He does not require aid. but appreciates the offer. You sleep well and wake up with your spells refreshed. The hay you smote did not retaliate during the night.
First thing in the morning, do some calisthenics while muttering a melody of healing (cast lesser restoration, twice) (2d4)[7]. Grab a bite to eat and head out on the road.
Unless you really insist we can use max effects for healing and similar effects.
The DM rolls a natural 1 on his puns. Other than that it is an over cast day. It smells of coming rain, and there is a slight breeze. You are about 3 miles from 3 rivers. Suddenly the temperature drops and the wind picks up to almost a gale. Rain starts to fall, as well as small hail stones that seem to be increasing in size.
Angus finds a fallen hollow tree about 50 yards southeast of the road. The hailstones hitting it sound like a drum, but it is dry inside and blocks most of the wind. The inside is blackened and years of leaves and other debris cover the floor. Suddenly the mind changes for a second blowing the leaves in the bottom of it about and a glint of metal is seen about 10 feet from the opening, then the leaves are once again stationary.
Nothing happens until you catch the strap on an old satchel that is caked in dirt and was covered with leaves. It takes some prodding from your greatsword. Then nothing happens at all.
Your spell hits, and nothing happens. It comes back with no hint of magic at all, except what might be where a healing potion spilled on it, but that is all.
