Can I establish line of sight through a keyhole or something? I'm assuming that if there are teleportation wards in the inn, Lucan's pals would have a bypass...

Through a keyhole, probably not. You can try and break down the door, or you can grab one of the servants with a key.

Hey everyone, quick RetCon alert.

***RETCON KLAXON***

I was re-reading some of the stuff Eilestraee just said, and there were certain implications that I didn't really like, so I made a slight change. Basically, it's no longer "All drows are condemned, lolz" it's "Any drow who worships Lolth, even if they turn away can be taken to the Abyss." This doesn't change anything (it still applies to Eilestraee, Zyrr, & his brother), but it does make the implications not quite as...horrible as a complete race being damned.

***END RETCON KLAXON***

Also, it's been pointed out to me that Eilestraee is a bit of a Mary Sue character. This wasn't my intention (it was actually a reaction to realizing that all the female NPCs I'd introduced up until that point were complete bitches, so I tried to make a nice friendly one, and I think I went too far). So...sorry about that.

Anyway, carry on!

Still pretty horrible even then, and it's not that well implied that it isn't every drow thats ever paid lip service to Lolth ever. ;) (Although I know what you mean and will be working around that, heh. And thank you, those were some rather darkly unpleasant implications.)

Eilistraee kind of is pulling a Mystra's Chosen here, heh. Everything you know is wrong, my god told me so because I'm special and perfect! Oh, I didn't tell you earlier because you weren't powerful enough for me to use yet. I kid, I kid.

It's probably going to be a day or two. I still have absolutely no idea how to have Eltain react to this in a way that doesn't end up back at Emo Paladin Is Angsty, heh.

If Ash can, he will follow the trail, try to find Lu and figure out why Belial's tieflings want her. Hopefully, he can Bluff as well as he can get information out of weaselly genasi scum.

DS, I hope you don't mind Ash dragging Lucan along for the ride. You can slap him in the face and tell him we have more important things to worry about if you want. I'll wait for you to respond before I continue on.

So I am getting married this weekend, and my attention to the thread will be...less. DS, you can drag Ash around to wherever. I'll write one last thing for the IC and OOC before I head out. After that it will be sporadic.

I don't know whether I should or even need to intimidate this troll for more info, but I really want to. He probably doesn't know any more, but Ash wants to find Lu. Perhaps Lucan can be the good cop...

Geez. So we start this game a month after I get married, and during the time we've been playing DSC has gotten engaged and married, now you're getting married? This game must be good luck.

Also, on a side note, I still am ridiculously proud for incorporating a random "You found 1000gp in you boot" statement when DSC got engaged into a plot point.

Back on topic, the dice rolls that Lucan and Ash have been getting are completely ridiculous and awesome.

Only if Lucan then becomes well-known for his parodies that turn the songs on their heads.

Of course, that would mean he'd have to switch to accordion...

I think Pavick may have to take up wearing an oversized timepiece as neckware, and maybe a grill. He'll also start insisting on being called Grandmaster P.

At which point Eltain will go berserk and slap everyone until they make sense, and failing that go start a lucrative career as an opera singer.

Also, yes, I am aware that Eilistraee is probably at least twice Eltain's age, if not more. He's being a condescending derp here.

Oh, also, Lucan (and probably Asheroth, if he's spent much time in Sigil) knows that "those nut things that those tree people drop" is probably referring to the Acorns that Wilden sometimes shed. When wilden are in an autumn phase, they shed tiny acorns, almost like dandruff. It's really just a matter of wandering around Sigil until you find a wilden in the right season, then briefly invading his/her/its personal space.

Let's see how snarky the forum roller is being today.

Religion: (1d20+19)[27]

Well, at least I didn't fail the thing that should have been a gimme, but naturally, I don't know the actually important bit. Oh well, would have needed a 12 or better anyway, so it was pretty much impossible with the forum roller being the forum roller anyway.

Hmm...+2 because it's your own religion, and if Zyrr helps you, you should be able to figure it out

--edit--

You've also got access to some of the best libraries in the multiverse in Sigil, if you're so inclined.

I was actually going to suggest that, since I lack faith in Zyrr's ability to make the Aid Another check. Granted, it should only be DC 18 if I'm remembering correctly, but his Religion is also only +9. ;)

I'd think coming just short of the harder check would probably permit one to get that feeling that they're forgetting something, so there would be additional incentive to look things up.

Eltain's the type who'd probably do research anyway, given that he's got enough of a scholarly bent to have the second highest Arcana and the third highest INT. (Frank has the 4th highest, obviously.)

Here's what I just pictured happening.

Eltain: Wait...the Azure Bride? I've heard of her, she [...plot stuff...] and if I remember correctly, she's from the House of Flowers originally. And that house is known for hating....hmm....for hating... gah, it's on the tip of my tongue.

Zyrr: *slaps Eltain upside the back of the head*

Eltain: Ow! What'd you do that for you stupid drow. Ohhhh....right.

And that's how rogues help with religion checks...

With Int that high, dropping Plate for Hide is almost something to consider. Without Superior Defense, you'd only be off by like 1 AC.

Is Superior Defense a Cavalier option? I might need to look into that for my own Paladin builds...

Nope, can't drop to hide. The last two points of the 37 AC is coming from my Paragon Path, which applies to Heavy armor only. I looked at it when I did this build, but it's like a four point drop.

I am seriously considering dropping to chain next levelup for Eladrin Armor, though, since I can't have the Eladrin Ring of Passage Eltain used to have at L14 anymore because they errataed it to be Rare between January and now. *mutters darkly about stupid errata* Not that huge an AC drop, would keep Eltain from having higher AC than Aramil, and most importantly, woo, +2 to teleport distances. The lack of speed penalty is massively redundant since my PP takes care of that, but.
