Tiandra wasn't much use because she was caught more or less by surprise. She is a powerful figure amongst the archfey. More than that she could serve as a symbol to help pull the fey back together.

He's more interested in helping someone that he knows is good and that there is a definite chance of helping than trying to reform someone evil when there isn't even a clear chance of success.

Real hope of ending the war is also a great symbol for pulling the Fey back together. ;)

And I admit, I have a cheerful disdain for quest-giver NPCs who are more powerful and more awesome than the party. ;) Eltain is so not taking orders from anyone other than his god.

Yeah, unfortunately there really isn't anything to go on for even trying to redeem him in this game. This does not stop or phase Eltain, who IC doesn't know that what he's trying for is impossible via the proper information lines not existing in-game. ;P *throws hints at DM*

THAT'S WHY I FROZE HER! Geez, I take steps to remove an uber-quest giver NPC and the first thing y'all do is try and bring her back...

Eltain has more plot stuff going on than anyone else in the game, so I'm sure you'll survive. If everyone wants to try and take steps to redeem him, I can weave that in, but at the moment the general vibe I'm getting from the majority is that they want to kill him.

So that's 2 for the elemental chaos, 1 for heading back to the underdark, and 1 for chasing devils. I got a message from Osrik this morning that he's getting back from his honeymoon today, so should be posting by tomorrow. Now to find out which way Aramil is leaning (which I honestly cannot predict)

Just traded a few text messages with Orsik (No idea why the boy is texting me on his honeymoon), and I gave him the quick rundown on the options. His choices were:

1st - Form a band
2nd - Going after Lu & the Devils
3rd - Breaking down the barrier in the Elemental Chaos

So It looks like the consensus is to head to the Elemental chaos. I'll update the IC thread this afternoon.

He's got 22 CHA, he gets around.

It always amuses me how it's usually the good characters who want to stab everything in the face.

Nah, you can say whatever you want. It just made me stop and tilt my head, because I thought I established fairly clearly that there was an aggressor and instigator in the war. The PoF is straight up trying to take over the Feywild, but Eltain made it sound like this was just some petty squabble with no base. It could be how he sees it, that's fine, but it isn't strictly true.

It seems that Eltain's problem is more with the inevitable by-products of war. Which is very understandable. There's a reason war sucks. And odds are, both sides have done very horrible things to each other; but that doesn't necessarily mean that the war is nothing but "misguided, foolish people."

Eltain has actually been cloning himself with a contingency spell to transfer his soul to the clone body should something happen to the current, and the Prince has a dozen frozen copies of him decorating the halls. No one is quite certain what will happen if they all get unfrozen.

Yep. When Pavick went for the Planeshifter PP, I took quite a few rituals related to planar travel. We still might dig into her records if Ash thinks that Lu's records would give us significantly more than I can or in less time.

Unless there are some penalties I don't know about.

• On a roll of 1 - I know the portal's destination only.
• On a 2 or better - I also know the name of the last user.
• If it was somehow created, I can also get who did that (Arcana is +28 vs 30+1/2 creator's level).

Between that ritual and what we can piece together with knowledge checks from lots of high arcana party members, I bet we can figure out most of the important parts of Lu's file on this portal anyway.

To be fair to Eltain here IC, Pavick is mostly just yelling at Eltain and telling him he's wrong in this conversation, and ignoring most of what he's saying. So Eltain has no reason to think anything other than that Pavick at least doesn't trust him or want him around, because he hasn't been given any.

OOC, Eltain has partially been down besides his feelings of being dismissed and ignored because I'm terrible at keeping my own down out of things, and my depression is acting up pretty hard right now. I'm going to hold off from posting IC for a few days because I'm actually getting kind of frustrated right now and actively feeling horrible.
