LOL! I'm not as much of a bookworm as you might think. At least not when it comes to D&D books. I read them if I want to go to sleep, because they knock me out after about a paragraph or two. But some players I've played with in the past have been infamous for invoking rules. I pick certain things up as I go along. Plus, I hang out on the Playground waaaaay too much, and they know RAW here. I guess some of it has actually rubbed off. I know that back when Deadenstein first taught me how to play, we played rules-light, shoot-from-the-hip-DM-ruling style campaigns that were very heavy on the RP side, because I had no real grasp on game mechanics. I suppose I've come a long way since then. Still those were some awesome sessions.

Anyway, about the IC. I'm just checking, Kalegkos.

Does Mjolnir not realize that Bel is a girl? He keeps calling her "lad," which means boy; "lass" means girl. Is this a hook I'm supposed to be RP'ing off of, or is that just a typo?

Kudos to Vixsor Lumin and his character, Korel!

An Elf dignitary, a noble Paladin, and a Dwarf socialite... and none of them will hold a chair for a woman in a Courtesan's dress. Just so we're all on the same page, let me just give you an idea of what these things look like:

Spoiler

You can walk in them... you can run in them... you can even ride a horse in them. But god help you if you have to get in, out, on or over anything in them. Don't worry, fellas; I have Leather Armor for traveling, so this won't be an issue most of the time. I just thought it would be amusing to see who the gentleman was in the group. Actually, my hubby and I had a bet going...

Well, my husband was betting on Quicksmith, because he seemed like a smooth talking character who understood social graces. Deadenstein isn't even part of the group, and you were playing a shy, socially awkward character who not only doesn't understand common "fleshie" social customs, but didn't seem to feel the need for creature comforts, like sitting, so you weren't on the bet.

Plus he meta'd a little.

We both know TheEggKing too well to believe he would hold the chair. Sorry, Eggs, but you know it's true. And I went into great detail with the DM about my chosen attire in the OoC thread, so the groundwork was laid.

I bet that no one would get it. I'm a bad person. I guess we both lost the bet. But if I didn't have extensive OoC knowledge of TheEggKing, I honestly would've bet on Henalrait. A socialite Elf made sense as the lock for someone who knew proper social customs.

The rules were, that once everyone sat down, the bet was over. Since you never sat down, you kept the bet open. That was a funny chink in the plan that we hadn't considered. So we had to close the bet with one final solid hint (me struggling with the dress).

How did I meta? I saw you were struggling to move your chair, and I pushed it forward when you said you needed help hahaha as for the bet, you shouldn't count the underdog out so easily. But if I had known about the bet, I would've bet on Henalrait to

No, no, no. My husband and I meta'd on our bet! We used OoC content to decide who would be the gentleman.

I'll at least apply the -5 for distracted, thank you for being my Rules-Person missmvicious . And Agreed on the disgusting sweetness , It's wonderful!

Anywho, I'll say that given the circumstances, the -5 for the Distraction is all that's important. So I'll just automatically total it up and post in OOC who heard/saw the thing which shall not be mentioned except to those with the luck .

@missmvicious Well i thought that you were already sitting xD I didn't get that... I'm getting tired those days. Doing so many things and i keep misreading things damn it!!!!

And also if you saw so many females with beards it wouldn't be such a surprise And add to that the problem that he has with his sister. A woman must earn his respect to be treated as a woman and not as an equal. And you should know as a woman that most of people treat you in a better way, because of obvious reasons You are making a really good progress to earning his respect just with such a speech. Forgive him for his little women-problem xD

Have to focus

I think you should roll a Bluff check, Kalegkos. And maybe a Tumble check for all that backpedalling you're doing.

Sorry... if I'm being annoying by bringing up rules, let me know. I don't want to be a nuisance. To me, explaining things by RAW helps make things make sense in-game. So that's how I try to help.

Hey DM,

I'm not entirely sure what I know with my Bardic Knowledge check. A roll that low is kind of on the fence.

A DC 10 = Common (knowledge), known by at least a substantial minority of the local population. (Example:) A local mayor’s reputation for drinking; common legends about a powerful place of mystery.

Since Henalrait is a public figure, there would be plenty of common knowledge about him, but he's not as high profile as the town mayor. Would my character, with a BK check of 11, have even heard of Henalrait? If so, what (apart from what he has already told me IC) would I know about him? I'm assuming you and TheEggKing will have to confer with each other on this, but it helps me to determine how I play my character.

I guess I should send this as a PM too.

I'm also waiting to hear what I saw with my spot check. I'm almost positive I saw something, but I don't want to meta and act like I did, but also can't really decide what to do until I know for sure.

I'll tell you when you make the check, and the target in question is doing quite well on the rolls so catching said creature will be tough. Don't feel bad . Since I looked and you saw nothing than, well you saw nothing, being absorbed in the captivating conversation and all.

haHAAA! Countersong FTW! You, sirs, are now free of the lullaby. It's time to wake up, my friends...

Bard vs. Bard I feel like I'm in a rap battle! In the wise words of Jonah Hill in The Sitter, "I feel so cool right now." And I've still got 4 Bardic Poetics in my arsenal and most of my spells. It is on Deadenstein!

I'm loving this conflict right now .
I'll get all of your stuff resolved after I figure something out.
And I still find this great, One Party member spying and messing with the others . You're already in trouble and I didn't even cause it to happen .
