I didn't want to make a whole other IC post just for this, but Batrazaar rides to meet up with the others, whenever he is able. I didn't know if we are in initiative Limbo atm. Unless you would like me to make another post saying that Waffle.
On an unrelated note, Surrealistik, I stole your formula's for upkeep of damage and "checking your attacks" for my game I am DMing. They totally rock!! Thanks!

Haha, well, to be entirely honest, I modified them from another source in turn. The combat tracker as it stands is essentially heavily modified from an earlier incarnation one of my prior DMs used.
I'm glad to see it getting popularized on these forums, because it really is a handy tool that is a huge help in facilitating PBP, and its use can only increase the quality of those games.
We are out of initiative at last. We'll give you a rest when you're out on the clear road.

I'm slightly confused about what's going on. I thought those in the cart (along with the bard and minotaur) were heading back to Fallcrest while we (the PCs) were headed in the opposite direction.

Also, you did have to spend some time recruiting for new people, because of losing some. But I do agree group initiative might be best. That way everyone can just go when they can, and then Waflle can just make all the monster attacks, then round 2.
Ah okay, so we're both going in the same direction for awhile then? I think the map and general orientation of stuff was something I never really grasped down completely. Also that was kind of a more complex fight so that might explain at least in part why the encounter went on for so long - there were several elements to deal with! I do think group init would be something worth looking into as well, though. The mechanics might be skewed but I think the speed at which we'd get through things would make up for that!
Looking at the game, though, there doesn't really seem much of anything in terms of setting or similar for me to latch onto and the only open role is controller, which I'm honestly... pretty useless at. Gotta think about this.
Would I be right in guessing (based on the surroundings) that Tor Hold is a log palisade garrison, with wall built not for a siege, but as a means of preventing raids? If so, closed gates could imply either a) they're dealing with regular raids in the past few weeks, or b) they've spotted something we haven't.
Also, are there any visible guards on the walls?

I guess we can take as many short rests as we like here? I'm thinking of just planting my standard and inspiring everyone back to full health, particularly myself.
And concerning Sierim's queries, are perception checks in order?
My sincerest apologies for the delay in posting. The luxury cabin we rented in the mountains NW of Denver were promised to have "spacious living space", "luxurious amenities", and "full internet connectivity." Instead we got "spacious living space", "luxurious amenities", and "NO internet connectivity." I am currently in a McDonald's 15 miles away. I will try to post again on Sunday and will be home late Wednesday.
Thank you for your patience.
BTW: I have received a PM from Paperscrap who will be leaving us. <sigh>
Thoughts?
I know a guy, who does wonderful RP and posts with great consistency, named Great Dane. He is great, and he is always up to playing whatever role needs filled. I could ask him if we would like.
Hey all, just spent bits and pieces of today reading up on this game. Waffle, pretty cool story you've crafted here so far and I'd like to throw my name into the hat.
Looks like we've got a warlord, paladin, warlock, and slayer-combo for up-front action. Two of those classes can heal, so don't feel the need for a sentinal druid (and thank goodness, I don't like playing druids much as it is).
I'm really open to playing whatever but am leaning toward traditional wizard (for ritual casting), invoker, seeker...ah hell, it's late and I'm rambling. Nix the psion though, already playing that class in another game.
I think any controller/controller-ish class but a seeker would be more than helpful (yes, I'm biased against seekers ). A wizard would probably be broken best in terms of sheer crowd control, but I don't really have that much in terms of preferences. Whatever turns out to be the best class for an awesome character for you.
As Ridai said, whatever class suits you. Wizard sounds fine to me, or any of the others. Can't say I've looked too deeply into any of them to know which best suits our group's tactics, but I'm sure Surrealistik wouldn't mind having someone with a nice RBA (alas, as Argius is a hold-over from another game, he lacks Eldritch Blast).

@Dane - Looks like you're in. As you may have read, I'm not going to be fully communicative until Wed/Thurs so roll yourself up something, post us a link and we'll see you soon.
I'll start by checking out the mage class, if you guys don't think a ritual caster will be necessary. I'll look at enchanter first, but honestly wavering between the three (pyromancer, enchanter, illusionist?) styles. Just an FYI, to me, controllers = big bursts, low damage but high status effect infliction, and possibly some buffs or debuffs.
In any case, sounds like I have a bit of time before our DM returns. Should give me enough time to whip up a sheet and jump in the RPing before we get down to the nitty-gritty.
Edit: Does anyone really have any perception in this group? For some reason, charisma-keyed characters appeal to me in pbp games (because I can be excessively-wordy and not feel out of character ) but I'd hate to neglect a really useful skill if it's needed. Just more food for thought for me.
