So um, THAM was nail biting in an edge of your seat exciting way. This is nail biting in a 'oh god what am I going to chew out of fear after my nails are gone?' way.
Unrelated: I saw The Hunger Games at a midnight screening. It was very faithful to the book, and I'm sure even those who haven't read it can follow the plot easily. Recommended.

Just thought you should know.
Agreed.

Awesome. I really want to see it. Now I have to convince a Buddhist nun we should totally go watch it together. Hmm.

Question for errbody: Okay, I'm sick of accidentally doing things that just end up breaking from the group/upsetting everybody. I'd like some advice. In this situation, Sigurd is really worried about Indigo. And he considers her a friend, maybe his only one. But he also recognizes the extreme folly of just running blind through the death fog.
What would be the most reasonable course of action for him? I'm totally at a loss.

Plan: Get Illiiya. Bring her back in. We follow Ithelus' plan of 'get on the roof and see what the hell dang is happening'. I don't want to be in that fog.
Poet: I'd prefer not to tell other people how to play their characters.

Yeah, like Brenton, I'd rather not give recommendations, especially given that my style of play is about the opposite of yours. I'll just say that if Sigurd wants to risk his life for his dog, it's really his own damn problem, so no worries about upsetting the others.
You wish your familiar had the Link of Psyche power, don't you? :P

Yes, yes I do. You read my mind.
I'm not sure what the roof plan will accomplish. Pip specified we could barely see the inn's sign from the doorway; a distance of maybe three yards at most. So I have no clue what anyone expects to see from the roof.
That said, it's a better plan than anything I've got.
Pip: Sigurd will call to Indigo a few more times and tell her to Come Here. Failing that he'll go join the others for Operation: Climb Check. (He may not actually step out on the roof but he'll come along.

Just to see if this is localised or if it goes across the whole village. Maybe it's thinner/thicker in some places?
As for your actions? It's your character mate, do what you want with him, not what we want.
You often don't need to climb very high to see above the fog. I think it's our best option right now.
I have never read Stephen King's The Mist, in which people are trapped in a supermarket by a thick fog where unseen monsters lurk, but now I understand how scary the concept is.

I'm confused. If the length of Rope OI (rope tied from solid Object in bedroom to Ithelus) is shorter than Segment Death (distance from window to ground) how could any degree of failure result in Ithelus falling?

No easy way onto the roof changes matters a bit. I don't know why I assumed there would be an easy way up there anyhow. I should've known better. Blame the fact that I find architecture really boring to study in detail, and prefer to just look at pretty pictures.
At any rate, Lothar's clearly not going to be able to settle in to a good sniping position. Nuts.
LCP, does the Inn have ground-level windows? If so, not-GM guys, would a plan like this work- someone tie something around Lothar's waist, and hold onto it. He roams around the edge of the inn, making sure to stop at windows while all you non-combatant types stay inside, peerin' out.
He finds something, he gives some kinda signal on the rope/taps on a windowframe/screams bloody murder.
Of course, this whole 'planning' business' is assuming that Ithelus tells us that the chanting children seem to be right below where he is.
Also! Part of the plan! We do the smelling-plants-tied-across-mouth thing. Won't work, but it can't hurt.

As the upper windows are above the mist (right?), you have a position, as long as you have something to snipe at. Which is... nothing.

Works for me. Want a wizard with you? Magic Dart never fails, if I can get close enough to a target to actually see one. And with Herr Lothar at my side I feel a little better about trying.

Sorry for the delay, all: this is why. All posted up now, though, so your regular GM service should be resuming.
May still be some passing disruptions this week - big work shindig tomorrow, and smaller family shindig on Friday. Will try to work around them, though.
It's a moot point. Events are spiralling faster than I can come up with, and implement, cunning plans. Let us go and investigate this breaking glass nonsense.

Man... I kinda wish Illiiya was one of those characters who got stronger when she was acting crazy. Because it's full on CRAZY TIME! *lurid giggling*

Some kind of Insanity Point fueled barbarian rage mechanic with a Dark Magic flavor would make a great exit career for... whatever career it is you do :)

Out with the experiment guys tonight, sorry - update will be delayed. Was tempted to take a shot at it anyway so that I'd have new posts to read tomorrow, but internal quality control stopped me.
Whee... no penalty to those skills I probably won't be using!

WP WP oh good WP the skill I deliberately gave Lothar a low rank in because he has trouble with not gambling and the like and the whole 'staying in the army' bit.

That's a fail, but of course I was a moron and forgot that I intended to FP the heck out of that BEFORE I posted. Ah-DUH.

Welp, looks like old Lothar's shaken before the forces of chaos. Big shock.
I'm going to hold off on posting until after Ithelus/Nurgling Swarm Attack, but LCP- you should feel free to write whatever reaction the WP was for when the Nurglings do their thing, if you want. Or I will, after they come a-crawlin'. Either way!
Gosh I'm chatty tonight.

Is it possible for Ithelus to start where he has a clear line of sight to the little gits by the door? I'll post as if that was true considering your comment about positions but let me know if that needs to be changed.
