Yes this encounter was worth something, and for surviving a Psudo-Legendary and a handful of rats is a whopping 1100 xp!
Keep in mind we are using our very own Arcran's leveling system because it was what I was raised on and I rather liked it. They can be found here if you need it.
For Major and Moranica the natures I give you a choice of keeping the same one or rolling for a new one but you'd have to keep that one, can't go back. And they only know moves appropriate to there level which is actually still just 5 because the young forms missed all the fun. So you'll both just take the 550.
Way to go guy's we've gotten through the first encounter. W00t.
Guitar-Yeah that's the basic gist. 1100 means 550 for you and your pokemon. If you didn't use a pokemon it's still just 550 since xp is gained through the PC but any Player can only take up to half of it. If you want you can give more to a pokemon but only up to 75% of it.
1.) Are we using arms features per the 1.29 rulebook, or per the wiki? Need to know, since it'll impact what feature I take this level.
2.) Do I need to buy books/donate/work out/whatever for the +1 stat feats IC, or can it just be noted in a spoiler somewhere(particularly for the ones that require me to buy books/donate).

*sits down and waits for answer*
I might have misread something, do we also get a feat even if we start a Class?
Yeah, the class itself IS your feat, technically. But Rowen's not taking a class yet - makes no sense to go Ace Trainer when he doesn't have a Pokemon yet, though the seed has definitely been planted.
Blues- 1) We are using the arms features from the most recent "published" set of rules, in this case 1.29. Not the ones on the Wikipedia.
2) Theres no need IC to justify the increased stats unless you want to add some flavor. Minty justifying the loss of dexterity was a lark for me but it's not required.
Also you shouldn't worry about not having a pokemon before taking Ace Trainer. Pretty sure that will solve itself soon enough. But it's an interesting move either way so I'm on board.
Guitar- If you need help on XP or class levels or any of this you know how to reach me, or just ask the group. Most of these guys are pretty nice and will be more than happy to help. If you do take ranger, you can upgrade everything except the styled for now. That will be introduced IC.
I don't think it matters since we are using exp, but would I add charmander/charmeleon to my owned category or just charmander? Or neither?
Also, how will my enhanced training feature work since I get a bonus to future exp? Will it only apply to the half that goes to pokemon? Will it apply to both? etc etc

The half that Pokemon get.

So when I get exp I will take it...divide it in half, multiple half by 20%, and then add the 20% boost to my mons and the half to me?
Am I allowed to make a counter argument? Cause if so I'd point out that an ace trainer would improve both himself and his mons to be the very best. He'd train beside them and thus both would be enhanced :P
Edit: Alright finally finished up restating the charmander and my level up.
+1 str, feature: Ace Trainer.
For charmander I lost smokescreen, lowered him to 5, kept the hasty nature (not willing to risk rolling), and fixed all his stats around
Alright, then. So it looks like I won't be taking Blade Weapons user this level(or for a few levels - shame, that). And the idea of not yet taking Ace Trainer is entirely thematic - right now, while it could be justified, it makes more sense for him to focus on self-improvement after that rather poor showing from one of the main combat members of the group. So...
+1 Dex, and taking Study Session (+1 Int) as my Feature for this level. I'll deduct the cost for the book from Pallet Town now.
And then Ace Trainer next level, Blade Weapons user the level after that.
Alright, hopping straight into ranger, so +1 Dex/Cha, and -2 Con... no HP for me! But I do get the two features... and I have no doubt that we'll find a styler along the way.
Also, Shia is at level 8 now... I guess. so yea, worked in all that, may want to double check that, see if i did it right.

One day, this signature will be something. Until then... I guess it will still kinda be something.
Hmm. I'll likely be the only one without a class at this point... and that's somehow oddly appropriate. Though I'm tempted to put "Fighter/Mage" under class, just because.
Though I do have my character growth planned out until level 11 and Tag Battler.
I'm hoping Oak gives us something or tells us more about pokemon so that Ace Trainer fits better. Sure he has watched pokemon fight and can tend to guess things based on appearance and he'll train and work beside them...but when I think "Ace Trainer" I think someone who KNOWS the game. Knows the attacks, knows the type charts, etc.
As for nature, I'll roll for it: (1d35)[29] - Jolly Nature. Leafeon, or perhaps Flareon...
I assume I'm rolling for ability, as well, so: (1d3)[3] - Adaptability. Useful.
So, we've got...

This is all for you guys. Those side characters I asked you all to make weren't just to lie around. They paint a very vivid picture for me of your characters lives, they give me people I know they strongly respect or strongly dislike and for a few of you they were the reason you made the cut above the other applicants. I have big plans for everyone in the story, and some may be more involved in the story than others, and some may not make it the whole way, everyone will be used. I've written and re-written this post since I saw Delitas submition. I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

Definately one of the best posts I've seen.
