Oh man, I totally forgot they printed Ghostly Flicker. Well, looks like my card accidentally broke Magic, probably.

Eh, sorry, judging is going to have to be delayed until at least tomorrow. Ended up doing a ton of work on my game, which has drained my mental faculties so now I can't think well enough to do the judging justice. It's partly done, but won't be finished tonight.
In the event that (somehow, I can't imagine how at this point) I win, I will be away from my computer for a little while so the next person in line can suggest the topic and judge if they want. This is probably not going to be at all necessary, but I thought it better to post it and hope I don't win than win and not be here to do anything about it.

Unstoppable Baloth (Duos): Very powerful, which in combination with it's easy mana requirements could make it into a dominating player. It is weak to red removal (bolt), but that doesn't really help that much. If you connect even once, you're drawing cards, and it gets out of hand very quickly. Seems like it would be bad in casual especially, where players are less likely to have an answer right away, and it comes out fairly early. Besides that, the card drawing seems a bit random and tacked-on.
Master Archaeomancer (tgva8889): This should definitely have exiled the spell after being resolved. As-is, it gets pretty dirty with a lot of stuff*. However, with this really simple fix I think it becomes a pretty awesome card. It's certainly powerful, and I could see it being used in a reanimator list, either to cast more reanimations, or as a tool to allow reanimation spells to effectively reanimate spells. It could probably be costed a bit more aggressively, but it's still a solid card that would see some good use.
Bloodhunter Vampire (Ninjaman): This is...not very exciting. Or good, for that matter. It comes out too late to really get value off of it's ability, and it's too small to have a huge effect on its own.
Master Jester (Binks): I like the symmetry on this card, but in practice it doesn't really work as you might want it to. Very few spells are cast before combat, usually being cast either mid-combat or in the post-combat main phase, which makes the second ability fairly useless. And since the first ability is just the original card's ability...
Goblin Royal Court (Lady Tialait): I like this. It's got a pretty good combo of very devastating abilities, and seems like exactly the kind of thing a goblin deck might be willing to pay 5 for. It has a huge effect on the game, and makes all of the dorky little goblins they draw afterwards into very live draws. I do think it could probably have been costed a bit lower, since non-goblin decks aren't likely to want it. I especially like the little things, like how a second copy is actually very good, triggering the effect and making subsequent goblins trigger each effect twice, and how it keeps the biggest power away from normal red control decks, without making it useless to non-goblin decks.
And the winner is:
Spoiler
Actually, Master Archaeomancer. There were certainly problems with the card, but it only takes a single, simple change and it's basically a perfect card. It's also very definitely a type of card that doesn't exist yet, and has a lot of cool potential.
However, it was a very close race, and since tgva8889 will be away, the real winner is Goblin Royal Court, by Lady Tialait. I really liked how this card came together, and while I think Master Archaeomancer has more applications in more decks, this is a close runner up. So, congratulations! Looking forwards to the next contest.
*Does this actually work? It seems like Ghostly Flicker would still be on the stack when the the Master Archaeomancer's ETB trigger happens, which means the ETB would trigger before the flicker is done resolving, which means you can't target it to be cast for free. In any case, I don't think that combo is the end of the world. It's a 3-card combo at least, though two of them (flicker and the kill spell of choice) could potentially be milled into your graveyard. Probably a deck, but probably not broken either unless I'm missing something.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it does. The way things work, Ghostly Flicker flickers Master Archeomancer, then goes to the graveyard all as part of its resolution. Then, when state-based effects are checked, Master Archeomancer's ability is actually put on the stack and you choose targets. I'm fairly certain this is how it works, as otherwise the Archeomancer synergy doesn't work and I know it does (at least on Magic Online).
And yeah, it probably should exile the spell (mostly so that you don't, say, enter some kind of Oblivion Ring-style game-drawing loop). But it's so elegant this way!

FYI, Binks, you don't need to say that the damage on Chandra's ult can't be reduced; you just need to say "this damage can't be prevented", since reducing damage is the same as preventing it. See here and here.

She seems pretty powerful, but she just slings damage around. This does fit Chandra but it does lose something in that she isn't inventive like every other Red planeswalker out there.
5/10
Markus, Loamcaster
Spoiler
Oh, an exile master. This guy seems like he's trying really hard to obliterate the world so he can use it for his bidding. Very interesting. I also like how his super kills him off but you would like him to stay around for his coolness. He's very tactical in that way and I do enjoy that. He does take a while to charge up, making him a walker you would use for his first ability. Those are kind of lack luster.
5/10
Jace, Master of Time
Spoiler
This guy had me exited just from the name. I love seeing abilities that have to do with time. (My favorite block was Time Spiral followed closely by Ravnica) However, he turned out to be just a stasis and my heart sank. He's a well put together stasis, but not what is in my mind when I see Master of Time, no extra turn or anything. Just a virtual one, he's a sleep caster. The name disappointed me, but the effects are solid.
5/10
Dralnu, Reborn
Spoiler
This guy is a self-fueling monster. His abilities keep my mana tied up, but nothing dies till it's removed. I really like this guy a lot. He's a strange take on the planswalker. He feels like a long term ally, who will help you for the long haul. He's not here to do a few small effects, require protecting and vanish. He's here to become a part of your arsenal. I really like this, it's inventive. The repeat on his abilities is the only drawback.
6/10
Yua, Flame of Passion
Spoiler
Now this is a planeswalker with four abilities. Her super is a game winner, and so is her second ability. When she hits the field your opponent better have an answer or you will destroy them. She truly is the flame of passion, and a lot of fun at being it. She may just show up in a flash and win your game for you, but that is fine. She is passionate. There is a story with her abilities I just love.
7/10
Ghave, Seeder of Planes
Spoiler
Another great story told in abilities. When Ghave arrives, the swarm is here. He's not here for the long haul, but he could easily do so. He's the swarm master. A massive army arrives with him, and he doesn't let it go to waste. Even if he was to leave the field he would leave behind the seeds of your opponent's undoing. I love it.

Wooooh! There were some really nice designs from everyone here.
We had to kill a card for an upcoming set which has left a hole we need to fill and we already have the art commissioned for it. This week's challenge:
Create a rare, mono-green card based on the picture in the spoiler below:
(It's just a slight screen stretch so here's a link to it to it's deviantart page where it's slightly smaller.)
Melody of the Cycle 2GG
Enchantment - R
At the beginning of your upkeep put a 1/1 Forest Spirit token on the battlefield
At the beginning of your endstep sacrifice a creature
Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control you may draw a card.
Whenever a creature you control dies you may put a +1/+1 counter on another creature you control.

Deepwood Piper 1GG
Creature-Human Druid R

Tap three untapped creatures you control: You may put a creature card from your hand onto the battlefield.

Piper of Darkwood - 2G
Creature - Elf Druid - R

The Piper’s Curse
1G
Enchantment - R
When The Piper’s Curse enters the battlefield, put a 1/1 green Saproling creature token into play under each opponents control for each land that player controls.

Sorry I'm a bit late, D&D went for a little bit longer than normal tonight.
Binks:
Spoiler
A very nice enchantment that at very worst reads 'draw a card at the beginning of your upkeep' and has the potential to be very good. One small problem with the 'Forest Spirit' tokens, as that would be adding Forest to the list of creature types which could lead to some unintended consequences for other cards, but that could be easily cut in development.
Duos:
Spoiler
I've always liked Elvish Piper, and this is a very nice twist on it. If you can keep it protected it can churn out an army of large and small bcreatures, a very nice way of conveying Green's growth theme.
AgentPaper:
Spoiler
Ooh! A very creative solution, reminiscent of Repentant Vampire and Gallantry in Odyssey. A one-drop your opponent has to deal with quickly before it overruns the field with saprolings.
Ninjaman:
Spoiler
Green has a good number of cards that trigger when a creature dies and this is a strong addition to them. Saporlings and Spirits both have some lords and anthem's out there so this army can grow quickly, both in number and in size.
Mythestopheles:
Spoiler
This is a really interesting card, but I really see it more of a Black-Green card. Green on it's own doesn't really punish players for having creatures out, or have cards that cause direct loss of life. Those are more of a Black thing. But it would be good for a multi-coloured card in a different set.
Winner:
Spoiler
This was a really close call, here but I have to give the win to AgentPaper, with Duos in second place.
Cool beans. Are you also using my card for your set, then? (You have permission to, just to be clear)
For the next round, we'll be doing a Mini-set. Basically, you create 6 cards - 1 uncommon and 5 commons, that are all part of a imaginary set that you are creating. Importantly, though, you can't provide any information on your set beyond the text and flavor text of your cards! I suggest focusing on a single aspect of the plane, both mechanically and flavor-wise, and really work to define what that aspect of the plane is all about. This might be a specific color, a tribe that inhabits the plane, or a guild, or a sub-plane ala Alara, or whatever else you think is appropriate.
And of course, remember that these are COMMON cards. They should follow the new world order and be relatively to understand and simple in play, but that doesn't mean there isn't room to be creative and sneak in some cool gameplay. For the purpose of this contest you don't need to create bad cards, though, simply because there isn't enough room. For your uncommon, you've got some room to spice things up a bit, but keep in mind it's still not a rare. The uncommon is also a great place to showcase/push a limited strategy you want to be available.
Ahh, shows how much I remember of the token rules. I completely forgot that token's types and names are the same. Good catch.
