Then the memories of the fire....her corpse...burned to a blackened and charred mess....He was crying over her...Marty turns from Jamie. He tries to grab Vidalia's hand in his and squeezes tightly.

He smiles happily before taking out a small piece of chocolate cake. He hands it to her, Unless y-you don't want it.

"If you're sure you don't want it?" Jamie asks, smiling and accepting the slice of cake.

"Well, I could look at it using the x-ray machine if you want?" Quinn suggests, motioning torwards the machine in question.

"Hmm... yes, best start with that." Reinholdt says, moving over to where Quinn motioned.

Eventually he pours himself a drink from a flask he has.

"I'm just perfect Kate, I really am. Hello Pansy, I wasn't expecting more company. Thank you both for coming." Julie steps in past the doorway, and as an afterthought levitates the shoebox up towards Kate, hovering it in front of her hands.

"I know it's almost a week after your birthday, but I wanted to get you this, to thank you for everything. I've found out lately that giving gifts is a good way to share my feelings with someone." She nearly winces at how corny that sounds to her, but is sufficiently distracted by the tiny bundle of amazement and wonder in her arms that she doesn't care.
