{Nexus} GLoG LXXX: The Continuation of a New Era!

Toby comes strolling up to the campgrounds, back from some distant village in the Nexus where he was consulting as a viral epidemiologist. Whistling a Tom Petty song obliviously, he walks into the Infirmary and looks around. Hey honey, I'm back! It wasn't the well this time.

Deadtime ooze sloughs off of Quinn, and she beams at Tobias...and walks over to grab his arm, kiss his cheek, and whisper in his ear!
"I'm glad you made it...because it's time for the little one to come forth..."

Toby smiles at his wife, but he doesn't actually understand what she means. Pitching his voice so that everyone in the building can hear him, he says: You mean it's time to sacrifice the virgin Sophie in order to summon the Devil's child so that He may destroy this place and devour everyone here?

From somewhere, there's a gasp!

From Quinn, there's giggling, followed by a gasp.

"No, dear. Well, actually, you're partially right, it is time for the Demon Child to be summoned. Devouring can come later, right now I need your medical skills to help with childbirth. My water broke not too long ago."

...she's trying to pull Toby in the direction of a medbed.

...so that she can lay on it. This is Toby's spawn, not Reinholdt's.

Toby blinks. And swears. And puts his hat back on, transforming his outfit into sterile doctor's garb. Okay. Wow. Haven't done anything like this in a few years. It's just like a cow, right?

"If I wasn't in need of your assistiance, I'd probably sock you for that," Quinn grouses, climbing onto the medical bed carefully. "As it is, you'll be on the couch for a week.* And I think I can handle things enough that your incopetence won't cause any permament damage."

Ooooooh, a challenge to Toby's ego!

"...better grab the painkillers..."

And, possibly, the medical curtain!



* - Oh, who are we kidding. It'll be half a night at most.

The figure seems to shine a strange light, but continues aiming right for the robot. It will soon hit it if the robot does not evade!

Luckily, Andy's sensors should indicate that he is close by as well.

The robot will avoid the touch by making a few steps back. He isn't made for fighting so he can't really evade attacks good.

Andy in that time just heads down. He doesn't fear the trees branches. In best case they wipe the strange animals away. If he manages to land near the being he will try to land next to his robot.

Why, I had no idea so many things lived here... excuse me. Reelshka leans down and removes her shoes and socks, leaving her barefoot. It's much more comfortable this way.

"Just a moment hun!" Julie, assuming Cessie knocked at some point, calls out from what sounds like the back of the cabin. Must be in the kid's room again.

If they wait, she'll soon be at the door and holding it open for them with one arm. The other one is occupied with a very live, active, and squirmy baby Prism, halfway out of her clothes that Julie had been trying desperately to pull over her before the two guests arrived.

"Oh... hi Julie." Cessie says in a rather awkward tone. "We decided to take advantage of your invitation but if this is a bad time we could always come back later."

Salix looks around wildly when her name is called. Oh! "Hi Brinika! Hi Jamie! Hi Natalie!" The dryad runs over, grinning from ear to ear.

"Hi Julie." Sakura says with a warm smile. Her eyes wander to the squirming little baby and her smile grows into a grin. "Ooh, this is one of your babies? She's so cute." She gushes.

"Hi, Salix! I haven't seen you in a while." Natalie would like to challenge Salix to a tree-climbing contest, using her monkey-shape. But not now because it's a different subject.

"This is my friend Buster." Salix holds the rabbit out toward the other girls. He looks looks back and forth a bit anxiously, but otherwise seems rather docile. "Isn't he cute?"

"Yes, he is rather cute." Natalie will stick her hand out in a fist for the rabbit to sniff; then, if he doesn't act too aggressively, she'll try to stroke his ears.

"No no, come in. Just give me a second to get this fidgety little thing into her jammies. I swear, it's like she knew we'd have company, and decided to be difficult just as you started to come over." Of course, with starspawn and demon bits, it would not surprise Julie at all if Prism turned out at least mildly precognicient.

Julie steps back, leaving the entryway open for the two mothers to make their way inside. She spares a glance at Laela as Prism starts to calm down. Oddly enough, the little fargirl hasn't cried, despite her apparent discomfort.

"This is your little one, right? She's grown so much, but she looks exactly like you." Julie's player can't quite recall if she'd met Laela yet, so a neutral greeting for the baby will have to do.

Cessie and Sakura may see someone approaching. He looks like a standard elf, mostly, except for a few blatantly demonic features such as a small pair of horns, red eyes, a pair of little fangs, and a tail. He's carrying Prism's counterpart in his arms, Scylla fast asleep as all of her tentacles wrap around Eric's arm for stability. Eric is doing his best to remain very quiet as he approaches so as not to wake the baby, and his focus is on her, so he doesn't notice the gathering of women outside the rowan cabin. Careful, or he may just bump into you!

Jamie grins happily, but stays away from the rabbit.

...she has heard the stories of Bun-bun and the Rabbit of Caerbannog.

Besides, being quarter-werefox, the poor bunny would probably be scared of her!

Sapling Cabin

After another refurbishing montage, Sapling Cabin is ready for use. Pansy can be godmodded for babysitting duties, and the GLoG girl brigade have probably all been invited during offscreen handwavium to earn some pocket money by helping out.

Eventually, Tito and Lily will leave the new parents and their baby, though Lily most reluctantly, and only because it was bedtime.

A single cloud lazily drifts above the lake at the Good League of Good. It floats, unassumingly, as electricity begins to crackle off of it. At exceptional speed, an orange blur plummets from the cloud into the lake with a massive splash. A Dragonite, heavily damaged from a battle with a greater foe, sinks into the lake. Soothed by waters like those it once called home, drifts to sleep.

Hours later, if undisturbed, it will eventually drift ashore, terribly injured, but generally stable.

The Dragonite will be hastily approached by a short, dark-skinned woman in a baggy hoodie and jeans. Once Sophie reaches it, she'll quickly examine it for the extent of its injuries.

Wide-eyed and quite fascinated by the rabbit, Brinika tries to touch Buster's nose. I've never seen one before, she says.

Buster allows the two little girls to touch him. His nose and ears twitch when they make contact. "Really? I've seen lots by my tree. Buster is the one that I see the most and he lets me pet him all the time."

Ah, well failing is near impossible anyways. Just speeds things along a little. And if you beat the super short, near impossible, extremely frustrating high score you get a very nice item!

Vincent doesn't feel like messing with that though, so he just hops out to pull the boat ashore when they get there.

"Think the island is way bigger than it looks and even has random encounters?"

There's a good deal of claw marks along the Dragonite's back, chest, and face, and nasty bite marks on it's neck, with burns along the marks. It was clearly in a fight shortly before, and probably with a dragon-type if Sophie has much pokemon knowledge. It's left wing is also broken in a nasty way.

Sophie knows precisely nothing about pokemon so she just sees a quite large dragon-like creature that's badly wounded. She tries to get the Dragonite's mouth open and breathe some air in it. As she does so, her eyes flash white and the pokemon should be healed somewhat.

Cessie is quick to step out of Eric's way, her eyes drawn to their children. It was not exactly what she had expected but it would be rude to bring it up. They didn't act like it was something strange so it was probably just two normal children here. Her own children might have tails as well after all. Maybe not tentacles though... but it didn't matter. They did look kind of cute.

"So is this Prism or Scylla?" She asks to get over the awkwardness, looking closer at the little baby in Julie's arms.

Its mouth opens easily enough, and whatever Sophie did, works. Quite a few of the wounds and burns heal. Those that don't are at least halfway there. Its wing is still pretty banged up, but at least it's better than before.
