Missy stops here and gulps at her champagne, looking down at her hands the entire time.
"No. Stay here." He tells her before putting his ankle on his knee to stretch out his leg. With the flute twirling gently in one hand, he reaches down to rub his shin through the suit pants. "Thank you for being honest." Javert says before taking a small sip from his drink. "I will admit, through all my years of socializing, this is the first time I've had a night go like this." He tells her, looking away and towards the crowd. "My fault for saying what I did."

Missy shakes her head. "No, I wouldn't feel unsafe. I appreciate the offer, but I should go home. I shouldn't have overdone it on the dance floor." She looks at the champagne in her hand and pushes it aside. "Biomonitor says I've had enough alcohol too."
"Enough" being one glass of champagne before the show and less than two since. But limits are pretty strict when your heart is acting up.
Andy just shrugs and wonders. The problem maybe is that he thought Butler was saying something like 'I don't want to stop petting' or anything with the same meaning. So Andy isn't sure what the Moff means. maybe if you talk to Butler don't forget the petting?
After all Andy will go for the bar ordering a drink and sitting there until someone comes up or the event starts. He looks sad after all, since even Butler seems to enyoy other peoples presence more than him.

"Hmmm..." That's a tough one, but there is some weird logic on Irena's side. Nadia shakes her head. "Nope. Then you can only bid on men." Yes, that is satisfactory.

Another while later, Kirk has probably overexerted himself for the evening. Oh well. He looks rather satisfied at least. "We're going to miss the auction at this rate." He says, not quite able to keep his breathing under control.

"Your age finally catching up to you eh Kirky?" Dena replies, also feeling slightly worn, not that she's showing it. "Guess you just aren't hundred anymore, have to accept your limitations." The other drow replies, faking a sad voice while gentle running a hand down his chest, kissing his shoulder.
Nadia giggles and raises her free hand to caress Irena's face. "But I already have exactly who I want, don't I?" She leans in to give Irena a gentle kiss.

Kirk chuckles mirthfully. If only she knew. "Oh Dena, you don't know me very well if you think a little thing like age would hold me back. I have no limitations." He suddenly rolls on top of her and kisses her passionately, hands wandering freely. He'll break it off after a moment, however. "I'd love to demonstrate for you, but we really are going to miss the auction."
"We are given our adult Names during the Winter Festival during our 16th year." He tells her. "Some of us earn other names later, but they have to be given to us either through ceremony or from someone truly special to us."

So... Pathfinder is only 17 years old. Okay Reelshka... he's still legally an adult so it's not like you took a minor out on a date. Now how to tell him that... "I thought you were older" would be kinda awkward. She settles for:

And so a rum and coke was ordered on behalf of Nephea. Mostly just to be nice although she was pretty sure things should usually go the other way around. In any case, the catamander was fairly certain that drinks shouldn't sizzle like that... "Uuuhhh.. So, exactly what is that you have there?" she asked with cautious interest.
She wasn't exactly keen on getting close enough to find out at the moment at least.
The idea of drinks being bought by one gender for the other as a rule is something Reinholdt considers old fashioned and cyclically enforcing bias. He's been to lots of other planets where that doesn't happen!
And a few where it's actually a whole lot worse.
Reinholdt turns his attention away from the deadtimed Kal, back to Nephea. "No really. I think I've seen you before somewhere."

Grace replies smoothly, albeit after a tiny pause, in which she determines that no, there is no way she can honestly keep up a formal demeanor while addressing someone as 'Dipsnig.' "I take it you have been enjoying the party then? I must admit, Magtok seems to be an excellent host for such events."
Yes, the party has been enjoyable so far. The show as well, although I've never had much appreciation for theatre. I expect it to change once the auction comes. How about you? He asks.

"I had a bit of a disagreement with someone else attending, unfortunately, but the play was lovely, and I imagine the auction will be quite entertaining." Grace says, a smile coming to her face. "Are you going to be on either side of the auction, Mr. Razortooth?"
Dipsnig thinks about it for a while. I might consider "purchasing" someone. I certainly won't be auctioned off. I can't imagine anyone bidding on me either, he adds, a faint smile on his lips. Will you be participating?

"It's for a charitable cause, I can refuse anything I feel would be too objectionable- and I do try and keep an open mind about these sorts of things." Grace says, explaining her decision in a light tone. "And I'm glad to hear you've some results to share. Unfortunately, I'm not sure whether I'll have the opportunity to put them to use- I'm having difficulty organizing things."
Pathfinder's ears fall back slightly when she mentions how mature he's acting, and his paw slides off the table to rub his knee. "We...we have to be." He admits quietly. "Wolfen cubs don't stay childish for very long for the most part. We can't afford to be. We live for such a short time, so we compensate for it. Fourty to Fifty Winters on average. As Shaman, I might reach 70." He tells her sadly before offering her a slight Wolfen smile. "But it has it's advantages. We live for the moment." Pathfinder tells her before trying to take her hand again.

I'm sure you'll manage, Dipsnig says. Mind you, my approach to magic has always been utilitarian, without deep thinking. It's a goblin thing, I guess, or maybe a mercenary thing.

Reelshka allows her hand to be taken and squeezes it slightly, smiling. Living for the moment has its definite advantages. And goblins don't live for very long either... so it pays off to get what we can for us as well.

"Aw..." She pouts as she start to gather her hair together into a horsetail. "You should probably tell that to the ones bidding though, see if anyone believes you. You already had a group and me twice and you know whoever is going to be buying you will expect... well, what you're known for." She grins and starts to reach for her clothes.
Dani certainly accepts the hand, and follows, smiling.
And soon discovers that waltzing in high heels isn't easy.
She'll do her best though!
And she'll settle for the waltz. She saves the tango for Sam.
Dani
Dio will end the waltz with an elaborate bow, having thoroughly enjoyed himself.
"I do believe there is someone out there in the crowd. Shall I depart, and allow you to mingle with old comrades?" Dio has had a wonderful time, both with Dani and Grace, but he feels that the music is winding down, and therefore the auction shall be soon. He must prepare.
"Weeeeell, there's this one girl. I know she's going on stage, and she's so hot, and amazing. I just want to spend all my time with her. But I can't bid on her." Nadia sighs dramatically.

Kirk is unfazed! He retrieves his own clothing and starts dressing as well. He dresses remarkably quickly for how much clothing he has. <.< Kirk shakes his head and doesn't answer. After they're dressed, he offers his arm to her with a smirk. "Come my beautiful. Let's enjoy the rest of the party before you lose me."
"Hopefully the former get their just desserts," Naethales says, smirking a bit now.
[Dani]
"Well, if you don't mind. And that was a wonderful dance!"
Dani giggles, and Dio might just find a quick peck being placed on his cheek from the bubbly little redhead before she skips in Meidani's direction!
Nephea scratched behind one ear as she tried to remember if she had seen this person before. She hadn't seen him in any bars and he certainly wasn't a frequenter of the Undercity as she would know him by then. As much as she tried, the catamander just couldn't seem to recall meeting this person before. He sounded familiar, yes, but that could be due to sound-alikes or something like that.
In any case, after pondering things over for roughly a minute Nephea shook her head. "Not sure where it was, then. Cause, unless you're a really good stalker, then I can't remember seeing you." the catamander said with a small grin. She played with the idea that he may have seen her doing a quick 'job' at some point but that was rather doubtful as she took care to 'smooth out' her rather distinctive facial profile. Cat ears and sharp, impish horns behind them were rather easy things to spot after all.
