How long would it take him to skin the hide... no tools... But I can borrow a light blade off one of the party I imagine, even johnny has a short sword... thats the size of a scalple for a large creature! xD
Let's see... Cows are also Large animals... researching... ah here we go: Looks like the actual skinning doesn't take too long, but "It will take about 7 to 10 days for a large cow skin to dry." ... and then it needs to be flipped!
Meanwhile, you have to specifically not fold it up or anything, if you want to keep the hide intact. Hmm.
I don't think you're going to be able to transport it feasibly out of here....

So I would have to move the body for it to work properly?
I doubt you want me carrying this lion do you? xD :D
EDIT: Btw thanks for the epic dedication to anwering my question!
Eh, the DMG says that unless otherwise noted, things work like they do in reality.
And you'd have to skin it before moving it - delay, and the body bloats, which damages the hide. If anyone in the party has Shrink Item prepared, you could conceivably skin the thing, shrink the hide, and carry it spread out that way.

But unless the party knows that I am fine to "pretend" that is why I am doing it and instead carry the corpse to turn it into a skeleton/zombie at a later date? :D .... providing the corpse doesnt rott ofcourse! :P

Hmm...
Anyone who has ranks in Survival will know some things about skinning, as will anyone with Profession(Tanner), Craft(Leatherworking), or any other skill that seems like it might be applicable.

Also what are the pre-existing arrangements on loot?
Do we have a party mule?
Do we already have rules how we alot loot and equipment?
For example Johnny you looted the corpses and presumably found the 700 odd gold pieces, do you dish them out of store them on yourself/a party mule?
(Bull might be a good party mule...)
I imagine Johnny would not really notice if the party was skimming him of profit and he was only recieving a small proportion of what he deserves and Yarin at the moment would not be interested in treasure... (not to mention asking for his fair share would give away his position...)
So I was just interested what you guys presumed was going on with it.. :)

The guy who had the original payment arrangement information and claims for the expedition unfortunately got eaten by Summon Monster V trap before you got to the dragon. You'll need to make your own arrangements in that regard. Any pieces of equipment that would logically exist that you didn't bother to purchase on character creation befell similar fates.

We appear to only have three active players. We had more characters made, but I think a couple assumed the game was a non-starter, and unsubcsribed from it. Do you reckon we could get more interest if we reposted the recruitment thread? This is an interesting game and it'd be nice to start strong with a full house :)

Me too! We should totally get a full party while it's early so it doesn't die all slow-like :)

Well we could keep playing and have the recruitment open again... for the moment have it just us two, but then anyone who makes a new char the our lovely DM agrees with could "appear" in the dungeon with us... :P

Recruitment opened, by the way.

Fatigue makes me wax philosophic and/or babble. If I've posted something strange and tangential, that is probably the cause. This entry would be an example.
I check it very regularly... but I posted last so! :P
Cant post again can I? :D
I would offer you Johnny again as a puppet... but hes a little unwell at the moment! :P
And apparently I cant cast because i dont have a holy symbol! :(

That's not fully true. There's a lot of Cleric spells that do not require a Divine Focus. The Cure line, for instance.

Irwin could be a fine puppet. Ceres will share :P
In all seriousness, I'm not possessive of my cohort. If the glovelock wants to mindrape him, I won't be butthurt OOC. Ceres will only react badly if you openly try to hurt him, and is unlikely to cotton on to mental manipulation.

I would like to point out that my glovelock is CG, and respects personal freedoms. All he asks is that if you encounter demons, you seek to eradicate them, with his help.

As you like. The belief about personal freedoms aside, you could totally justify controlling another good person if you thought it was for the best... I'm just offering you the option and saying I totally won't get prickly, so you don't feel like you're immobile until we encounter magic or other creatures.
Incidentally, you should totally feel free to blast however you like, as I'm confidant I can make the Concentration checks to use psionic powers even while you're controlling my hands.

Sure, but it seems to have been doing an inner monologue for most stuff to date, and I wanted to know if it was confronting Irwin openly about the "healing" issue.
Interesting that our intelligent items can sense each other within 60 ft. I didn't know that! That will be fun to play with...

But were you actually speaking to Irwin, or was your text just an internal monologue?

Well the verbal componant was said aloud so you would have heard the Golem say "Cure" and seen him touch Johnny, then Johnny suddenly awake his wounds healed.
Everything in Italics is internal however the "Cure" was aloud. :)
