Lol. That... was... nerdy. The wife would like to add "fantastically nerdy" to my comment.

Uh-huh. And while you're telling me how nerdy that is ... and knowing that your wife plays here .... ummm, through what medium are you telling me this?

A site devoted to gaming, such as D&D, huh?

Hi, pots! This is kettle.

ROFL. Oh, rest assured: we have favorited the video, and are going to run the lyrics by a friend of ours whom we believe knows Klingon. We are friggin nerds.

I'm just surprised someone showed me something that out-nerded Roll a D6.

Since we're still waiting on Vix, I'm going to shoot him a PM. We'll put 24 hours on the clock. If he doesn't post within that time, he'll delay his initiative to the end of the round.

Why, thank you.

Hmm... it looks like Vixsor is MIA, so we'll delay his initiative for the end of the round.

New Initiative Order:
  1. Vir-Sashi
  2. Ur-Agal
  3. Alaghi 1
  4. Coanacoch
  5. Li
  6. Alaghi 2
  7. Alaghi 3
  8. Tilmek

Li, please kill something.

I'm beginning to worry that your rescue party isn't going to make it, PSinger.

BTW gang, in case we're not clear... these creatures look hungry. And hostile. They will try to eat you if they win this battle.

Please don't die. I'm not a TPK DM, but these monsters have decent stats. They are capable of winning this fight if someone doesn't start bringing on the pain.

Wow, Azoth. Two natural '20's on both grapple rolls. Those aren't auto-successes (like attack and save rolls), but who cares?! I doubt your alaghi opponent can really do much with that onslaught.

Ok! Wow. System maintenance is finally done. Man... it's good to be back. Lets do a 48 hour roll call to see if we still have a game. Shout out if you're still here within the next 48 hours so I know who is still playing and who isn't.

Once everyone checks in, we'll get rolling.

In the meantime, here's a cheery little "I missed you" song.

Well, actually, concerning the rest of the party ... still there.

But my own perspective is around me, so I'm still here. And the party is .... wherever. (I only know if they are still 'there' if they aren't moving. If they are in transit, then that would be a false statement.)

So, we're still missing Vixsor.

If he hasn't posted by 9 am on Monday, I'll take control of Tilmek until the end of the battle, then disappear his character if he still hasn't posted. He's been off the grid for a fairly good while, and I don't want that to bog down the game, regardless of how fun as it is to have him on the roster.

I think I can handle this alaghi if the rest of you want to take down the others, or maybe focus firing the one I (should) have tangled up would be best. I am not sure. At the least my grapple mod should be enough to slow him down for a while. Though I suppose someone should try and heal our downed team mate so he can rejoin the beatdown.

Also...why am I the one you guys turn to when something needs to die? Not that I am complaining in the least. Just curious?

Lmao. Guess it is a good thing I forewent my buff round.

Also, Li has cure potions on him if someone is willing to sacrifice a turn to retrieve one from him.

Oh, and Inex, I forgot to desc the grapple. I intended it as Li stepping up and doing the whole grabbing the alaghi's claws like in a game of mercy then just doing the good ol' hand crush while pushing down. Trying to drop the creature to its knees through brute force and pain.

Oh ok. I just kind of pictured you savagely pouncing him in a "speaks Sylvan, must be fey" rage and tearing into him like this, about 6:15 into it.

Your way seems a bit more manly though. At any rate, you succeeded on the check, I'm just waiting to see if Vix will come back before continuing the game. He's got 7 hours to say something... anything. Then we carry on.

The trees count as difficult terrain. However, if you wish to have a Naruto moment and jump from tree to tree, you need to pass your DCs, but you can use jump movement speeds instead.

There's a feat somewhere that you can take that will allow you to do this without the jump checks. I can't remember where it is, or what it's called though.

@ Man on Fire:
I'm confused about your Flurry of Blows attack and Damage

Your BAB reduces by 2 during an FoB, but your Rage adjusts for that. So, shouldn't your attack roll be 1d20+4?

Also, you get strength bonuses to melee attacks, even with your fists. In that case, your damage roll should be 1d6+4.

You didn't crit, because an unarmed strike's crit range is 20. However, I believe you successfully attacked on your second strike and dealt 5 damage, instead of just 1.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh right. Sorry, I was writing in hurry and made mistakes. Sorry about that. Let me check...All as you said, except that attack roll should be 1d20+5 and dmg 1d6+5, so I scored 6 damage.

Ok... there's a bit of confusion. We may need to get some posts re-worked before we can move on.

I PM'd lostsole earlier because his initial attack was illegal. He said he would move next to the Alaghi instead so he could perform his melee attack, so I positioned him at W9 so that he could grant a Flanking bonus to Tilmek.

If Li is retreating to Y6, then I'm assuming that's to stay close to Coanacoch for healing purposes, but that won't accomplish the intended goal if Coanacoch is pressing forward on the attack.

I'm putting the game on pause for 24 hours to give lostsole31 and Azoth a chance to re-write their posts to however they prefer to execute their strategies, if they wish to re-write anything at all. Whatever is on the IC by tomorrow, I'll act on.

I'm PM'ing Azoth and Lostsole this post as well, just in case they don't check the thread daily like I do, cause I'm a dork.

Instead of dropping the battle grid as an image, I just linked to it, so you could download it and examine it as you see fit.

It seems you can download a higher res version of the map than you can see if I just post it as an img. Let me know which format you prefer, and will stick with that for now.

Ok guys...I have a plan that might work out for us. I would suggest focus firing on one at a time, but well that leaves us to get beat down hard since their damage capabilities are higher than ours. I don't want to retreat from this fight, so I was thinking about taking down 2 of them at once. It is a bit risky though.

I was thinking since Vir can grapple about as well as I can this may work. If I drop my handy haversack Ur-Agal can use my alchemical items freely to help deal with the third Alaghi and keep it off of our backs while Vir and I hold down the other two. This leaves Coanoch and Tilmek free to beat on them at their flat footed ACs while Vir and I use the damage foe option of grappling. We should be able to minimize damage fairly well this way and with the two of them attacking together on a single target it should drop quickly.

I suggest if we do this that Tilmek and Coanoch surround Vir when he grapples since he is closest to where the third Alaghi was seen running to hide. I will grab the other and if things look like I may get attacked, I can use one grapple check to move the Alaghi 20ft away from the fight to prevent full attacks. This means you guys may need to chase me down to help finish off the third one, but it is a risk I willing to take. I'd rather see Li die than several others.

@ Man on Fire: Would you like to use your secondary natural attacks as well? If so, please make attack and damage rolls. Also, yes, while grappling, you may attack and deal damage. As a monk, you may deal lethal damage without incurring the usual penalties.

Grapple Checks Made Easy:
Step 1: Provoke Attack of Opportunity (Unless you have Improved Grapple)
What this means to Vir-Sashi: Skip step 1

Step 2: Melee Touch Attack
What this means to Vir-Sashi: Your opponent is denied armor, shield and natural armor AC bonuses

Step 3: Opposed Grapple Check (Free Action, +4 if you have Improved Grapple, multiple attempts if you have natural weapons)
What this means to Vir-Sashi: Roll d20 + 2 (BAB) + 3 (STR) + 2 (STR from Rage) + 4 (Improved Grapple) Total Grapple Bonus = 11 for your unarmed strike, your claws and your bite attack. You may also roll damage in this round for each if you wish, but please put those in spoiler tags, because now that we know you have all these natural attacks, your grapple checks are going to get cluttered.

Step 4: Hold Opponent (Move into opponent's square)
What this means to Vir-Sashi: Provoke AoO from any enemies adjacent to you.

Okay, so let me see -

I belive I don't get claw attack because my arms aren't free, with grappling the guy and all of that.

You get claw attack if you want it. It's perfectly legal. The concept is:
While you grab him, you dig your claws in, attempting to assert your grip and damage the tissue.

However, to get the game moving again, we're going to assume you opted out of a claw attack this round. Carrying on!

Also, your most effective natural attack is considered your primary natural attack, which means you get to add your full STR bonus to damage. This means that you may add 3 to your damage score on your bite attack. With your claw attack, since it's your secondary attack, you may only ad half your STR modifier. So you know... kudos. You just did 11 damage to your target.

You know, guys, I was just taking a look around the forum and noticed something.

We've had a few cast revisions, and some internet road blocks, but we've come a long way so far. I'm honored that you've stuck with me for all this time.

Thank you.

Also, I think we should make a big deal out of our 1,000th post. What do you guys think?

I'm leaning towards 1,000 XP per player on the 1,000th post. I'm also cool with 1,000 gp per player, if you prefer. I know it's not game-changing... 1,000 XP or 1,000 gp, especially for those of you who took Vow of Poverty, but I plan on doing something really awesome for the 1 year anniversary of A Boot to the Head, so I don't want to cash in all my chips.

If you guys have any other suggestions, let me know.

Wow, we rule.

As for 1000 XP at 1000th post - sounds good to me.
