Inex, I was going for the one that Li was holding. I figure if I kill that one, than this entire bawd is immaterial. For he to then stomp off to another goblin takes him "out of the moment" and to go to another goblin then pushes from pragmatism that goes well outside of even a good person.
Necahual, being LN, sees the moral dilemma ... but harmony and peace within the group is more important to her, the better to fight external threats. The moralizing is unimportant to her.

I have suggestion - lets call this part "end of the episode X" and timeskip after Necahual, Timlek, Vir-Sashi and Li talked things out. We may agreed here how they talked things out, but if we're going to do it in character, I'm afraid we will never finish and derail this game completely. If, of course, DM is okay with it.
Sounds good to me. PSinger and Lostsole both said they've been pretty busy lately, so we'll hand-wave the conversation, saying that you all reached an agreement, Necahual took her slap on the wrist, and Li has been revived.
You're all back at the merchants shop where Han is interrogating Grimble. Byuckyuck is nodding his head eagerly with whatever Grimble says.
Grimble responded. Is it not showing in the thread? I'll post some filler garbage to get it to pop up.
Hmm, hadn't seen that, might be my fault, I tend to use "Mark forums read" from time to time, but normally I check first to see if something has been posted in this game... Oh well, let's get on with it :)
There are no rules that I can find on language limitations, but I'd allow all languages available to humans, since Broodguards started as humans.
Found it:
Tainted ones and broodguards speak the languages they knew before their transformation, and usually learn Draconic within a few months of becoming infected.
Okay... it's time to get the campaign going again. It's 5 am where I am now. I usually wake up around 1 pm. If I don't see some IC from PSinger or Lostsole when I wake up, then I'll DMPC them until they return. If a week goes by without their presence in IC, then I'll retire their characters. The campaign can still carry on effectively with 3 PCs. If it drops below that, I'll re-open the recruitment thread.
Sorry, boys, but my internship has me falling into bed when I get home at night.
As for lostsole31 .... hopefully he'll be more active, but he just went into surgery this morning for a .... oh, hell, I'm not even going to try to spell what I can't even say. He's having a lymph node removed (and biopsied) and the sub-cute part of where his melanoma was checked to determine if he still has cancer. He might be a little longer.

It really would be meta-gaming, Man on Fire. Goblin isn't even a language that most people (except Rangers, really) tend to pick. I'll tell you what. We'll roll the dice. Let a d4 decide your fate.
On a roll of 1, you may select Goblin.
On a roll of 2, you may select anything using the Dwarven alphabet, except Goblin. The Goblin language uses the Dwarven alphabet, so I'll rule that you may have some rough idea of what the goblins are saying. Your choices would be Dwarven, Giant, Gnome, Orc, or Terran.
On a roll of 3, roll a d20. There are 20 languages you can take from the PHB, pg 82. Whatever it lands on, that's what you get. Re-roll if it lands on Common or Draconic, since you already have those selected.
On a roll of 4, you spend this level "studying" any language you please, but you take your language when you level up.

Your future is way more important than a PbP. I hope the internship pays off well. Based on the hints I've gotten in the OOC, I'd suspect you've got a very bright future ahead of you. However, if the internship is taking that much out of you, then maybe you should retire Coanacoch for now. I'll send her on some anonymous side quest, so she'll gain XP. That way, when you're schedule eases up you can check back in to the thread, find out what level we are, then level up your character and shoot me a PM. I'll find a convenient way to graft you back into the plot.

My god. I'm sorry to hear that. My prayers go to him. I wish there was something I could do. Please send him my best wishes for a speedy recovery.
For now, I'm going to insert a plot device that puts both of you out of the main story line, but you are welcome to rejoin whenever. Just shoot me a PM when things settle down. If you wish to keep us updates, we'd love to hear from you two in the OOC.

I'm very sorry to hear that my mom actually just finished chemo and radiation treatment a few months ago, so I. Know how scary it can be to have a friend or loved one go through that I hope everything works out ok.

I don't know what to say to express my sympathy for him and hopes he will be well. My brother has been fighting cancer for two years, I can only imagine how hard it was for him and how hard it must be for lostsole, he has my deep respect.
I and lost will rig for silent running for a little bit until things calm some. I'll keep the subscription and read it when I can, but right now I can't guarantee every-day-posting.

This is a good chance to split the group, actually.
Please vote on a direction. Coanacoch and Necahual will do the other thing. If you guys want to carry on, Coanacoch and Necahual will take the goblins back to the monastery. If you guys want to go back to the monastery, Coanacoch and Necahual can remain here and continue the inspection of Cliffside, using the carrier pigeon to send reports back to the monastery.

On one side, risk, on the other side reward.
Here we go.

Just in case:
[roll1]
You didn't needed to go that far, if it's metagaming, I'm not doing it. But I like this "spending level learning language".
If you wish to investigate in Cliffside further, roll Knowledge, Profession (if you have anything useful in there), Search, Sense Motive or Survival. Any of these checks may produce a result, though results may vary based on the type of check and rolls.
That which was on the pony is now on you, if you chose. Claim your equipment and add it to your encumbrance.
@ Man of Fire:
A high enough sense motive can give some insight as to the intentions of the attack. It's not always easy to get good information from a Sense Motive check, since the DC is rarely below 20, but it can provide valuable information when clues are limited.
