Re: A Complete List of 3.5 Base Classes (over 400!), including 3rd party publishers
Alright, I've decided on how I'm going to (eventually) organize this. I'll have classes organized by publisher and classes organized by "role" (spellcaster, gish, fighter, etc.). Each class will have a spoiler that has a description that includes approximate Tier and a brief description.

Alright. Word has an option to make a table in the "Insert" tab. You can add as much as you want, OR make it from a list, like the one you have.
...
Tell you what. I'll throw together a table, and post it in a couple of hours. If you PM me your email, I can send you a copy of the word doc I'll be using for creating the base table. Sound good?

I know how to make a table. I thought you were saying make a search function to people could type something in to a bar and find anything it the table. I can put it in a table if that's all you were saying.

Uh...............no. Sorry I have a very strong, slightly irrational dislike of PrCs. It'd be cool if someone put that together, but it's not going to be me. Sorry, I just don't care enough about them.

Well, it's the whole "make table, then copy-paste to get it to look right on the forum" thing.
See, when a table from Word is copied to the forum, it... Well, gets some spaces to either side of the cell. What's inside these quotes " ". Note the size.
Control+H lets you search a Word doc for something and replace it. That's what I was suggesting be done- create table in Word, copy to here, copy the copy to another Word doc, and replace those things between data with |s.
...
Here, have the WotC sanctioned base classes, including the ECS and Dragon Comp stuff that you missed.

Whoa.
Thanks! If I could get a couple people to help me...everyone could do about 50 classes in a table. Then I'll put them all together (and probably open a new thread with a nice, fancy new table at the top of the page).

Heh. That one still needs the tiers, roles, and notes filled in. I'm gonna need some time going through the tier system for that.

I'll admit I'm not great with the tier business, here is an example of what I was thinking:
GREENBOND
“I sing through the land, and the land sings through me.”
The greenbond is a mage who deals with nature. He speaks
the language of the leaves, of a babbling brook, or the stony
heartrock of a mountain. He remains in tune with the health of
the land around him. The greenbond is an animist who deals
with the spirits animate within all things—trees, rocks, rivers,
ponds, and even the air around him.
What ever you think though.

So basically try to convey the flavor of the class in a few sentences? That's a great idea
I'd say mountebank is tier 4. Also, that list looks very similar to what we're going for except we're doing it with significantly over 400 classes.... and we're adding in descriptions. What have I gotten myself into??

Hell.
Absolute Hell.

I added a tier to shadowcasters (they're tier 4), changed duskblade's tier (they're low tier 3, not tier 4), added the psychic rogue class from online (I think it goes in this table) and a few roles.
I'm wondering whether I should have counted the cleric and druid as gishes, since they get decent melee capability.
What role would Binder be? Caster? Gish?

Actually, since I have access to a lot of what you have listed here, what are the rules when it comes to this d20/srd/ogl whatever business in regards to posting it out right here?
What are the limitations?

Basically, it's the flavor we have to be careful about overdoing. Most crunch is published under the OGL, but all images and fluff is considered closed game content. Despite this, it's probably unwise to actually give any specific crunchy stuff (like you can say the greenbond is a spellcaster who speaks with nature, but don't say it has a low BAB progression).
Re: A Complete List of 3.5 Base Classes (over 400!), including 3rd party publishers
Cool project. Really, really ambitious.
I'm not really sifting through the list for omissions, but two that stood out were Frost & Fur and Rokugan Campaign setting, which have a few more classes.
Just a quick rundown and Tier rundown, in case that's going in here:
F&F:
Godi - Like a cleric with an extra domain, extra skills, no turning and a crappier spell list. T2.
Vitki - Full-casting buffer with severely limited spell list and few powerful high-level effects, but a breakable casting mechanic. T3.
Voela - Nerfed Druid with decent spell list, but a terrible casting mechanic. From T2 to T5, depending on circumstances. Let's say T3.
Angakoq - Ghost-themed Druid-type. T2.
Cossack - Mundane mounted combat. T6.
Koldun - Evil Charisma-based Wizard. Very limited, but very powerful spells. T2, but with a lot of potential to suck.
Volkhov - Divine caster with powerful spell list, Druid framework. T2.
RCS:
[Samurai/Shugenja reprinted from Oriental Adventures]
Courtier - Social skillmonkey designed for Diplomancy with built-in Leadership (but Fighter/Samurai cohorts only). Without abusing Diplomacy too hard, probably T5.
Ninja - Funky combat-focused Rogue. T5.
Inkyo - Monk, minus the class abilities. T6.
There's also Kobold Paragon, if you're trying to account for all of those.

HOW AM I NOT CLAWING THROUGH THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW?
Whoa. Thanks! Surprised I missed that much. Also, if anyone has the Sovereign Stone Campaign Setting, I know that it has a couple of base classes. I can probably find them online but I have no idea what Tier or such they would be...
Re: A Complete List of 3.5 Base Classes (over 400!), including 3rd party publishers
Added frost and fur, adding Rokugan Setting in a minute. Need to recount the number of classes, and would like to have the number of official WotC classes, number of monster classes, paragon classes, and 3rd party publisher's classes.
I personally would be fine with just Name|Book|Approximate Tier|Approximate Role|Any note on why they are in the tier, what type of system they use (Psionic, Arcane, Divine...).
I personally will only care about things that are Tier 4 and higher and will read over everything I would allow before allowing it, as the DM, so just a quick Tier number would be good enough.
