Using teleport when it attempts to save vs slow, teleporting to G10. FYI, I'm planning on waiting till you all go, knock it way back and retreat back into the corridor (hopefully less bunched up).

I'm gunna make it a helluvalot harder for it to kill our brains. Unfortunately, that was my lone action, and I am bloodied. If someone has a spare action on their turn to send one of Riley's heals my way, that'd be much appreciated.

Apologies for double-post, but I didn't want Chambers to miss this if I Edited it in. After a few combats, I'm realizing that even with the "hot fixes" I applied during our last rest in an attempt to make Flavius work better, I still don't like how the character plays mechanically. I love the fluff aspect of him, and I like the way his Theme and Paragon Path fit that fluff; I also love having an insanely high Arcana bonus, since we've been making so many checks. I just don't really like the character's mechanical core. I feel like I tried to do too many things (crowd control & illusions, cold comboing, status effects, damage modifiers, ritual expert, etc.). I was wondering if I could prepare an overhaul of the character's mechanics, for your approval? I wouldn't switch him to the new sheet until after our next extended rest, so I wouldn't unfairly regain powers and such. I just don't like how the crunch came together on this one, and I think I can do it better.

Sure, that sounds fine. What kind of changes did you have in mind?

Dominate.
Attack vs Flavius Will 31 (1d20+20)[30]
Hit: Flavius is dominated (save ends)

Edit: Forgot that since Flavius is Dazed he's granting Combat Advantage, so the attack would be at +22, getting a 32 and thus a hit.

That's probably a miss, too. Why do so many nice Darklock and Starlock powers have to target Fortitude?

War Wizardy is about having allies in the spell area, but I think in this instance of being Dominated it wouldn't apply as you are specifically targeting them.

Alright, no problem, was just wondering. Also, I used an At-Will because I am pretty sure that Dominated cannot make me use limited resources (e.g. dailies, action points, etc.). I know that when PCs dominate a monster it works that way, not sure if it applies across the board.

You're correct, only at-will powers can be used.

I was wrong about War Wizard Expertise though. Being dominated doesn't change allies & enemies, so the feat would still apply to your attacks against your allies. The feat imposes a -5 to attack them, where are you getting the half-damage on the power from?

He doesn't have War Wizard Expertise, he has the War Wizardry feat from FRPG. -5 attack and half damage against allies with arcane spells. I've got the same feat.

Flavius Resist Psychic reduces the damage to 29, so he's at 10 hp currently. Good thing you cast that or you'd be finding out what the "something else happens" is right now.

All I'm looking for is HP, Temp, Defenses, Surges, and Bloodied. Feel free to put more stuff in it as it's certainly useful for the players, but that's the minimum of stuff I need as a DM.

I think Dominant Winds, or any ability that grants Flavius an action won't work. First line of Dominate is "The creature can’t take actions voluntarily". So Flavius can't do anything by himself. The monster controlling him can only make him act on Flavius turn, according to the text, so neither of them would be able to use the action.

A saving throw would probably be useful for Flavius now. That or some healing; anyone can use the Heal skill on Flavius to make him use his Second Wind (if it's not already spent from the fight during the vision). It's a standard action that requires a DC 10 Heal check and you have to be adjacent. Also as a standard action (DC 15 Heal) you can grant him a saving throw or give him a +2 bonus to a saving throw at the end of his next turn.

Yeah, unfortunately it looks like Flavius did use his second wind in that fight. I definitely agree we need to get him to save and we need to get him some HP on top of that, but I also think I need to keep trying to deal radiant damage to this thing to prevent it from regenerating.

What consumables do we have that would be helpful here?

Oh and yeah, it looks like I'm the one who keeps forgetting about the status box, I'll get that taken care of. Right now his HP should be at 93/111 (bloodied 55), 5/9 surges used, and defenses should be the same as everyone's thanks to the Mantle of Unity: 35 AC, 28 Fort, 33 Ref, 32 Will. I'll add that to my combat posts from now on. Edit: actually since Valen doesn't take the necrotic aura damage this round he'd still be at 98 HP.

I didn't contribute any of those (though Fort is a tie at least). Man I suck.

Umm, Flavius had 60 HP and 21 THP, with Resist 11 Psychic. How'd he go down to 10 after that one attack?

Ah, I didn't realize that was an "until end of next turn" power. I guess mine's just the usual 28/28/30/29 now, I'll mark that down.
