Not sure if I wrote it clearly in the IC but the sarcophagi don't show any signs of being opened.

Been a busy week so far - hopefully I'll have more time later this week. You guys going to poke around the sarcophagi more or go explore somewhere else in the catacombs?

You all can easily duck under it, the bars aren't blocking the passageway.

...Ah, I seem to have missed the "raised halfway into the ceiling" bit when I read the setting description We still might want to break the bars, though, just so we don't get trapped if the portcullis is closed while we're within.
So do we want to proceed down through the gated path? I'm not sure I like the whole "six separate passages" thing, but I guess if we really want to make sure the place is cleared out then we don't have much choice.
Sounds good. I'll post IC when I get home from work tonight.

Here's a link to my patchwork map. The giant skeletons on the ground represent the destroyed golems. The two gray boxes with three sides on lines 12 and 13 are the wooden palisades.
I'll continue to add detail and other bits to fit the description but that's the basic idea.

It's the end of the year and I know holidays keep people busy, but just drop a note here that you're still with us.
The next IC post will be the Undead Ward ritual. Did you guys want to have the local mages heal anybody also (including a possible Comrade's Succor ritual to shift surges around)?

The map shows the beginning of the no man's land. The distance from the tents to the ruined city walls is about a hundred feet and the remnants of the walls continue in either direction for two miles. Placing the ward at the ruined city gate really wouldn't stop any undead; they could just go around it. Putting it around the trenches would let you create a half-hemisphere that would protect that area.
Your decision of course, just wanted to make the situation a little clearer. And yeah, Riley healed people. I was referring to the healing surge ritual.

Oh, I see. Since the walls are crumbling, they are not really an effective barrier... my initial plan was just to sort of "plug" whatever breach there was. Then yes, we'll make a circular-ish wall around the entrenchment.

Arcana Check for Undead Ward: (1d19+25)[31] + aid anothers from the other party members. Undead of Level < (Arcana Check - 10) cannot pass the barrier, but otherwise it doesn't do anything (so we can shoot past it).

I'm not renewing my D&D Insider account in the new year so I wanted to hear whether you all would want to switch to 3.5. There are certain things I like about 4th edition but after playing with it for two years I think I'm kinda over it.
The game has stymied in the past month and that's entirely my fault; I think we've got some interesting storylines that are developing and I'd like to keep exploring them, but I'm just not that interested in using 4th anymore and I think that's one of the things that has kept me dragging my heels. What's everyone's thoughts on the matter?

I have next to no experience with 3.5e, and I feel that casting is needlessly complex while many non-casters are too simple. That being said, I'd be up for giving it a shot, I guess. I haven't felt particularly inspired by Flavius' mechanics before or after my attempted remake of the character, even if I enjoy his story. I'd be willing to learn more about 3.5e, if that's the direction you want to take this.

One of the things I like about 3.5 is the wide breadth of customization options for characters. I don't think it'll be difficult to find things that will support each characters 4e fluff. I'll take a look over my 3.5 books and post some suggestions for each character.
Edit: Here are my initial thoughts on some conversions. Please note these are suggestions only; you can remake him/her how you wish.
